How to multiple video DVD's?

Howdy all,
I'm starting to work with iMovie and iDVD for the first time. I'm building DVD projects to burn to disc from content on a video camera.
When I build a project and burn it, iDVD encodes then burns, a fairly long processor intensive process.
If and when I want to burn a second or third DVD from the same project, I'm wondering what alternatives I can use to do this?
Do I have to encode the project every time to burn it? Seems like a lot of cpu use to do this. Is there an easier way? I have a copy of Toast 7 as well.
To me, it seems as if I should be able to 'burn' the project to an iso file then burn that to DVD over and over again.
TIA for any help here.

Klaus is right about burning slower, but the disk utility on your Mac can do the same. You can choose a slow burn speed and also burn as many copies as needed without re-encoding.

  • HOW TO CREATE VIDEO DVD WITH ADOBE MEDIA ENCODER

I AM NEW TO ADOBE PREMIERE. AFTER SOME HOURS OF LEARNING FINALLY I FINISHED EDITING 30 MIN OF VIDEO. NOW I DONT KNOW HOW TO OUTPUT TO DVD ( VIDEO DVD ) TO PLAY IN DVD PLAYERS. PLS HELP.

Which version of Premiere? CC does not include Encore, but you can download the Encore CS6 from your account. As it is part of Premiere CS6, I believe you would need to download and install Premiere/Encore CS6, and then you can uninstall Premiere CS6, leaving Encore CS6 installed.
If you have Premiere CS6, then you already have Encore CS6. In either case, from Premiere, use File > Export > Media to open Media Encoder. For FORMAT, choose "MPEG-2 DVD", then choose an appropriate preset from the list. For instance, if editing with 1080i, then you might choose NTSC Widescreen High Quality. For 1080p, then use the Progressive version, etc.
What is your source video format? If starting with HD, then check the box at the bottom of AME for Max Render Quality, it helps with the scaling.
Hit EXPORT at bottom and it exports two files, an .m2v for video and .wav for audio. Open Encore, start a New DVD project, and then File > Import > As Timeline and grab both those files for import. From there, I recommend finding an Encore tutorial, too involved for me to type it all out here.
Hope this gets you going at least, but search online for tutorials, there is plenty of good, free stuff out there
    Thanks

  • How can I share DVD drive on Windows with multiple ODD?

My Windows machine have 2 ODD -- one CD ROM drive, another DVD R/W
(and one more virtual drive, which I think is irrelevant)
Installed "DVD or CD sharing" and remote computer is visible from Air via remote disk.
BUT when I connect and request for use, only first CD-ROM drive is ejected and MBA waits for that drive... and that drive only.
I can't see any configuration option to select which drive I will share.
How can I get DVD sharing work in this case?
    Does anybody have similar problem?
(Or where can I request for this functionality)

    Hello roaminggnome
Unfortunately the support is down at the moment, I will have a better look later. I did go though the Apple support previously, however I found nothing that worked.
The first thread I came across was “Home Sharing” however no mater what I did, it did not appear in the iTunes sharing list (I did go though the “Show Sharing Networks” support as well)
Secondly, I saw “Using A Single Library With Multiple Accounts On The Same PC” (Something like that) but all this did was let us share the same music location, if I was to rip extra music, it will not show in there library

  • How can I convert DVD- video into Apple's format so that it can be played and streamed from my Mac?

How can I convert DVD- video into Apple's format so that I can play the content on my Mac and also stream it to my Apple TV? A few years ago, I transferred all of my home videos onto DVD but now would really like to put these onto my Mac and stream them through Apple TV to watch on the "big screen". Any advice would be most welcome!! Thanks

    MPEG Streamclip.
Apple do not have their "own" format. You need to convert your DVDs to H.264 though.

  • How to convert video and dvd for iPod

    1. Download, install and run PQ DVD to iPod Video Converter. It can convert from DVD, Tivo, DivX, MPEG, WMV, AVI, RealMedia and many more to iPod Video.
(PQ DVD to iPod Video Converter Download)
    2. Click "Open ..." button and choose a video file or DVD disc to open. Wait for the movie to start playing in the preview window.
    3. Based on the aspect ration of the video source PQ DVD to iPod Video Converter will choose the best resolution for the output iPod video. Nevertheless you can select a resolution of your choice to stretch/squash the picture. Alternatively, you can choose a Crop Mode to cut unimportant parts of the video (like top/bottom black bars or subtitles).
You can also adjust the desired quality to reduce the output size of the movie.
In the preview window you will see what the resulting movie will look like.
When you have set the desired settings simple click on the "Record it" button to convert the video/DVD.
Depending on the settings a 60 minutes video is converted on average for 15 minutes.
    4. When the process finishes you can test the recorded video file on your PC using QuickTime to see if it works well.
Then launch iTunes, add the recorded file into the library and update iPod (under iTunes' File menu). And have a nice time!
    Additional Settings
    1. Video Settings
    Video Frame Rate
Known as Frame Per Second (FPS). It refers to the number of pictures displayed in 1 second in order to form continuous motions. The default frame rate is 15 fps. You may choose 24fps to get more continuos motions.
When selecting higher fps, increase the movie quality and size a little. This is because more frames need some amount of additional motion data to be stored.
    Brightness Level
Increase the level to make video appear brighter on your iPod screen. The default is level 0 (No brightness change from the original video).
    2. Audio Options
    Audio Quality
There are 6 audio quality modes to choose: 32kbps Mono, 48kbps Mono, 48Kbps Stereo, 64Kbps Stereo, 96Kbps Stereo, 128Kbps Stereo.
Audio Bitrate (in Kbits per second)
Audio bitrate refers to how many data storage is allocated to store audio signals. The higher audio
    bitrate, the better audio quality.
    Audio Volume
You can change output audio volume in "Output Settings" dialog. The default volume level is 5 (original volume).
    Stereo to Mono
When the output audio is set to Mono, you can choose which stereo channel (of input source) to be copied into the Mono channel (output). It is useful for some video sources (e.g. VCD) which use the left, right channels for different languages or for karaoke.
    3. DVD subtitle(subpicture), language
It is recommended to use the native DVD menu in the preview panel to set subtitle(subpicture) and language. (Click "DVD menu" button on the right to show native DVD menu in the preview panel) You may also change the subtitle(subpicture), language in the program's Options menu, but there are some DVDs that require the change must be made in the native DVD menu instead of the program's menu.

  • How can I set multiple videos to "TV Show"?

I'm importing an entire season and they all default to "Movie". So, I know that I can set the video type to "TV Show", but if I select more than one video, there is no "Video" tab. Does anyone know how to set the types of multiple videos at once?

This is a good question and I haven't found a method yet either. This seems to be an oversight on Apple's part.

  • How to use multiple videos in template

I'm using the Directions HD template in Motion 3 and trying to figure out how to use more than one drop zone. When I drop a video into the first drop zone, it appears in all drop zones. How can I use multiple videos?

Step 1: Find the Drop Zone layer (inside the Video group/folder) and select the Custom behavior and type Command - K (Convert to Keyframes from the Object menu)
Step 2: Duplicate the Drop Zone the number of times you want to be able to change media.
Step 3: For Each drop zone, move the playhead to the position you need to set an In Point; then do the Out Points... I recommend overlapping the Outs and Ins and crossfading using opacity keyframes. [For some of these, this will mean a 1 or 2 frame crossfade... or pick your points for straight cuts. ]
Step 4: Select all the Drop Zones and create a group (Command-Shift-G).
Step 5: Select the "Clone Layer" (it will be unchecked in the Layers List inside the Video group), and drag the newly created group of drop zones into the  Source well.
You can mix up the way the background (emitted copy) video plays by clicking the Random Seed button at the buttom of the Emitter > Particle Cell inspector.

  • How to download a DVD movie into Premiere Elements 12 using my MacBook Pro so I can edit the video?

How to download a DVD movie into Premiere Elements 12 using my MacBook Pro so I can edit the video?

    Bob Perez
Please review and consider the following which works for me in Premiere Elements 12 Window 64 bit.
From what you wrote, I suspect that you have DVD-VIDEO widescreen on DVD disc. For now I will assume that you are working in a NTSC setup.
Premiere Elements DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc is characterized as interlaced video with field order lower (bottom) field first. I am not sure how your DVD-VIDEO on DVD was produced - upper (top) field first or lower (bottom) field first. We may have to apply Field Option Reverse Field Dominance at the Timeline level, but for now let us put that aside for a later time.
Insert your DVD disc in the DVD burner tray.
Open Premiere Elements to the Expert workspace and set the project preset manually for NTSC DV Widescreen. How to details for manual project preset setting are found
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE11: Accuracy of Automatic Project Preset (New Project Dialog) Setting
Then, Add Media/DVD camera or Computer Drive/Video Importer.
The video files from the DVD-VIDEO will be the larger size files and will probably start with VTS_01_1.VOB.
In the Video Importer designate the save location for video file VOB(s) and select Add to Timeline and hit Get Media
to put the files on the Timeline for editing.
If you have more than one DVD disc to "rip", please set up the Video Importer Save In location so that the save in location has a folder for each disc. The fact that all DVDs have the same VTS_01_1.VOB name etc will cause problems if you saved all to the same place as individual files.
Determine how that works for you in your Mac computer environment. We will be watching for your progress.
Others may tell you that you need to convert the VOB to another format before import into Premiere Elements. That is no necessary for Premiere Elements.
    Thank you.

Im having a problem with the dvd quality, I'm using compressor to convert the video fils from apple prores to mpeg2 .It doesn't matter how long my video is even if its just 5 minutes  I'm getting cut edges/lines  in the video specialy if i have titles it comes up really bad , I took the same video to a friend of mine who have PC and he uses Encore , did the encoding there and it was just fine no problems! BTW I tried using doferent setings in compressor from CBR and VBR I even pushed up the setings to 8 or 9 BR and still no luck !
does anyone have any idea ?
    Thanks in advence ...

Let's focus attention on just the Sony. (What model and what resolution are you shooting?)
    For now, I'll assume you're shooting 1080i.
Take a representaive clip  into a new sequence. Add a title.
In your sequence, make sure field dominance is set to Upper.
Set render settings to Pro Res 422.
After rendering, export QT self contained.
Import into Compressor (I'm now referring to v3.5).
Select the 90 minute Best quality DVD preset.
Open frame controls and turn on (click the gear icon). Set Resize filter to Best.
Submit burn and check quality on TV.
    Good luck.

  • How to make a DVD video with bonus iPod ready vids included

I'd like to make a standard video DVD for playing in a typical DVD player. But somewhere on the disc, I was also thinking of putting on a bunch of iPod ready videos that people could just copy directly onto their hard drives.
I'm hoping someone might have some advice on how to get this extra content onto the DVD.
    Thanks for any help.

Since the folder content is not going to be played on a set top player, you might as well simply add a menu with text to inform the user that the content is there. You might try using DVD@ccess links to get the content to play when in a computer, but to be honest, since you are providing video only I wouldn't think it worth the effort.
You could also consider linking to a simple HTML page that itself references the footage so that the user sees a familiar web browser and has a page with 'download' links on it. You'll need to create your microsite as you would any other web site of this kind, and then put it all in a single folder. Point your @ccess link to the single folder and the 'index.htm' page will load into the default web browser.... as long as the user has got @ccess installed on their computer.
Given the problematic nature of this piece of software, it is often not worth the effort. If you have access to a PC then you should look at Sonic eDVD as a far better alternative.

  • I need an idea how to place multiple videos on one page

Multiple videos on one page in Muse neded for a video portfolio..
Anyone got a great idea how this can be done please. (or direct me to a tutorial link - doing one is all I can find)
I am happy with either embedded or Menu linked on objects to videos.
    Youtube is hosting the videos
I just cant find any way to put hyperlinks or urls in objects and I can not find a way to make small video players in Muse.
If I scale the container ..things go very weird. eg the video goes tiny and into a corner.
I feel like I am working with half a tool box!!!
I cant even find a template where this has been done.
    Any help is appreciated. Thanx.

    That works perfectly thank you.
Now I am wondering if I can have a single "viewer" that will play any selected video from a button , a menu or other trigger?
Info for others if required. :  The You tube ID required in the widget setting is not the URL.  Its an alpha/numeric obtained from part of the YT embedding code.
