How to navigate a database...pleaseee

hi all.
need help.
how can i navigate thru a database?
like i have these 'next' and 'prev' button and then navigate a db thru it.
fyi,im using access db.
please......
ive tried to code a solution but kept getting this sqlexception:
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Invalid cursor state
here's the portion of what i did:

Theres a book out I think its called "Beginning Java".
Big red paper back book. The last couple of chapters deal with this. Download the sample code for the JDBC chapters I believe it will answer all your questions with a good to go application showing all the tables in a db - plus columns and a command line for running queries.
