Hello again guys, recently I recover my Classic II from the ashes and also I found a a pair of appletalk DIN 8 cable with a converter to RJ11, so my question is, this two Macs can be networked via this rare cables, please let me know and tell me also how to handle the connection between MacOs 7.2 and MacOS 9.2x

It sounds like you have a PhoneNet adapter. The most common use was for networking several Macs to share one printer. The phone connector does not have enough pins for ethernet. It just adapts from Apple connectors to cheaper phone cord.
You can network two computers that both have the 8 pin Din connector or a Mac and a PC with a communications port directly. LapLink has made software to connect laptops to desktops since 1987 or before. That is when I was introduced to their software. You might have a hard time finding older software that will support the Classic. The software that I have goes from a Plus to a PC.

I`ve connected iphone with macbook pro few weeks ago for i-net surfing, but i had to use cable. Now i wanna try icloud, and i`ve faced that trouble. My mbp sees iphone, makes pair, but fails to connect it. If i try it with iphone, a message "mbp cant be connected, it isn`t connectible device"-something like this- appears and mbp disappears from known devices list. How can i solve that?

I have somehow the same problem. I just bought the new iPhone 4S and tried to connect it to my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.6, latest version, model 2011). The Phone did not see the Mac but the Mac the Phone, so I connected the Phone via Mac.
It worked for about 5 seconds, but then I got this error message:
It's German and means that the network is not available.
Of course I tried again to connect, but I now get always this error:
It says that the device is not available...
I deleted the iPhone from the list under Mac and tried again, but it's still the same.
No my Questions to the community:
Why does the iPhone not see the MacBook?
Why does it allways disconnect?
Is Sync not possible via Bluetooth?

I am using a 4SX-411 nu drive to control my stepper motor. I need to measure an input voltage at the digital I/O port of the nudrive. How can I program LabVIEW to do that?

Thank you for contacting National Instruments. NUDrive 4SX-411 is a value motion drive and you can connect to it using any of the ValueMotion boards. When using a ValueMotion NUDrive with steppers you have I/O ports 1-4 available for general purpose use, I/O ports 5-8 are reserved for axis inhibit output signals. Refer to section 4-7 of the ValueMotion Hardware User Manual linked below, for information about the jumper settings.

There's no auto sync from a mac. You have to use the iCloud/iWork web site to manually sync a file from a mac to iCloud. It then is auto synced to your iDevices.

Samsung Fascinate, problems with playing music via USB port on car stereo

Before the update, I could play the music files on my Fascinate via the USB port on my Kenwood stereo, and control basic functions such as skip, pause etc. Now, my stereo does not recognize the device, and cannot read the files. I went to local Verizon store where a sales rep tried to connect it in here new Kia Soul and it didn't recognize the device either. It will play via the AUX jack, but I lose player control and the phone does not charge via the AUX cable. She did a hard reset which did not resolve the problem. We tried one of the other employee's Fascinate in my car, which did not work either.
So, after hoping to be able to stream music via Pandora, Jango etc thru the USB port after the update, now it seems its primary function is for charging.
Also, the ALL SHARE function, which I used to get the music on my phone originally, does not work now.
Anyone else have this issue with music player and USB connection?

txgopher- I have personally never used my Fascinate to listen to music via USB via stereo however, I can see why it would be frustrating for you to no longer be able to do so when it was never an issue prior to the update.
It sounds as though you and the store rep already did some troubleshooting by trying to duplicate the problem with another car, stereo and even doing the final troubleshooting step which is a master reset.
Since you have done all of the necessary troubleshooting steps to no avail, it most definitely appears as though the software update has interfered with that USB connection in some way.
What I have done is forwarded the information you have provided to Samsung in order for them to look into this concern as well as come up with a way to get this resolved.
Please stay tuned because as soon as we hear back from Samsung we will be sure to update this forum with the results/findings.

Is 57600 baud rate the one specified in the manual for your device? This needs to be absolutely correct for the serial communications to work properly.

How to sync IPOD classic in Windows using Firewire - A Workaround

Issue: Itunes does not recognize classic IPOD (5 Gig scroll) via Firewire Port
Workaround:
1.Set Itunes to copy files to the Itunes media library (Edit/Preferences/Advanced).
2. Import/rip music into Itunes in MP-3 format (Edit/Preferences/Import Settings). Then close Itunes.
3. Download and install Winamp and the Winamp IPOD plugin, in that order (these are free).
4. In the Winamp media library, import music from the Itunes media library (File/Add Media to Library/browse to the Itunes media library).
5. Plug in IPOD via firewire.
6. In Winamp, IPOD will be recognized.
7. Select IPOD, then Sync.

Don't worry about it! Everyone makes "dumb" mistakes at some point, even people who've been around the forums for awhile. You'll get the hang of it.

I had this issue recently, due to changing HD for an SSD.
In my case, since the library in my iPod was synced to the HD it was not syncing to the library in the SSD, though they were the same (had the same contents).
I found there's this checkbox in iTunes > iPod > [Settings] Music, called "Sync Music". Mine was unchecked, I guess due to iPod being synced to the old library. I marked the checkbox and clicked then in Sync. iTunes asked me if I was sure I wanted to sync the iPod with the "new" library, i clicked yes, and the it started determining the song to sync. Since the library was essentially the same (just a couple songs more in the new one), it synced the couple new songs and that was it.

You cannot block explorer.exe when you do not replace the shell - the
desktop you see effectively IS explorer.exe...

You are correct in some of your assertions, Limnos but, if I were to follow Apple's wishes, I would have to purchase the latest and greatest Apple product every month! I refuse to do that. I understand that my G4 is old but, it does what I need it to do. To answer your question though, I purchased the iPod classic as a refurbished unit, about 5 years ago and had it replaced three times, since then so, there is no way for me to know how old it is.
From my knowledge of how the Classics work(which is extensive.) It is basically a hard disk. There should be of performing a low level format, plug it back in and the G4 should recognize the ROm and automatically search for the correct software associated with that version of iPod and load it but, Apple will most likely no longer carry the software on their servers anymore!(surprise,surprise.)
