How to normalize all audio takes?

recently i recorded lots of takes (vocals), but problem is they all have different volumes (my first experience working with a singer). what is the best way to flatten them all to an average volume inside logic (or not as a last resort)? i tried to assign a bus as output for all these audio tracks and compress all of them together, but the volume difference is still exists. in addition i should say that there are about 5 audio tracks and about 10 takes/comps in each one which i'm going to flatten.
next question is - i try to cut a piece from a record take and raise a gain in inspector, but when i do, it doesn't affect a sound, why nothing happens?

I'd suggest you automate the levels up or down where needed, or try the gain plug in ( which again will need some automation). A case of using your ears as well as a metering plug-in.

The normalize volume feature is indeed gone. You have to adjust manually, selecting the audio track of each song in turn.

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comeback again?
If this does not boring back a working volume control, and to rule out a software issue, set it up as new device, explained here:

I'm having to replace some audio in an already edited multicam clip. (there are mulitple audio parts I'm replacing by the way)
How can I mute ALL of the audio in one go, as I have about 400 cuts and am currently having to mute one by one per cut.

Easy. Select them all. In the inspector, click the Audio tab. Under "Channel configuration", uncheck the box which would say something like "400 selected clips".

How to find all audio and photo files?

My system stats say I have 400 megs of photos and 1.95 GB of audio. I have not put anything on this computer yet. It's brand new. I want to erase all the crap I don't need so I have maximum space for shooting photos and videos. I can't find what this audio and photo crap is from. I have searched in finder for any format I can think of and I just can't find them. How can I track down this stuff?
Also does anybody know roughly how much space is typically used on a brand new Mackbook Pro 15" out of the box with all the OS stuff?

There is a program call Grand Perspective that will scan your drive and show where everything is located. You can create filters for the things to scan for and list. It presents a graphical presentation based on file size and location on the drive. Hovering over an item will show the name, size, and where on the hard drive it is located.
Filtering for Images and Audio, I had 1.95 GB in the Library folder. Most was in the Application Support folder.

I understood that in the Volume correction I need to select - Equalize Volume Levels.

How to normalize audio (streaming .mov output)

We are trying to figure out how to normalize audio. We're using v. 3.0.5. Tried Peak Limiter, and tried the highest setting, and the highest amplitude samples of the waveform did indeed reach 100%, however the noise floor was raised significantly more in proportion. We are looking for a function that will take the guesswork out of the audio settings -- i.e., the typical normalization function you find in most audio editors. Set the percentage of digital full scale that you wish the loudest peak to reach (e.g., 97%), then the entire waveform is increased an equal amount. Even better yet if there is RMS normalization, but I doubt that is in the app. Thank you.

In FCP you can select your audio, choose Modify -> Apply Normalization Gain and set the threshold. In some cases it will raise the noise floor, but so will any automatic plugin.

You're an optimist . There are literally thousands of podcasts: a straight list would be unmanageable. The category listing shows only 'featured' podcasts selected by the Store staff - again, it would be quite impracticable to list everything in a category - it would take hundreds of pages.

How can I use ALL audio tracks in multiclip editing?

I want to be able to use all audio tracks after the multiclip cut.
It's only a two camera shoot, but I want to be able to use the ambient room sound from the second camera ... and control its level (in relation to the master audio track on the first camera) AFTER the cuts are made.
Is this possible in multiclip editing? And how does one go about it?
Apologies. I've spent an hour or so in the manual, and it isn't clear ... or I'm just not finding the right reference.

Sorry if I'm steering you down a path you don't want to go or even if there's a better way but I wouldn't be ding complex audio mixing anywhere near the multiclip interface. Export your reference movie or nest the multiclip project into another sequence, bring in your additional tracks, get to work. Just my preferences, I put a bunch of rough keyframes in the audio tracks and enter some markers (and make a lot of paper notes). Then I go back using the large mixer window to do the fine tweaking.
Stick around for a couple of days, some other multiclip users with more experience than I will offer some more useful suggestions.

As you may have noted from the list of Apple devices I own, I believed in the Apple and the products it was producing; but it is hard to believe from my experience and the other voices within the Apple Community that we are all experiencing the same hardware issues. Especially since I recently, I upgraded to an IPhone 4g (no, my faith in IPhone 5 series is very little) and is experiencing the same audio problem as described above. So now, I am off to the Apple store again to be told that it’s a hardware problem on new IPhone. Really? Apple, what happen to the pride in the product you were producing?

Everyone does things a little differently. I love to "jam " along with iTunes ( or old Lp's) . Always have. That's where/how I've learned to play .
I'm sure leonieDF is giving a proper way to jam along on a keyboard with an iTune. He blows my mind all the time with what he knows. Nuff respects to him !
What I do is make a GB project I call "Jam With". I'll make several new tracks that are blank. Just has a few instruments named in the blank tracks. You can change those per song ...
Because I'm not concerned about changing the pitch / key.... of the iTune or the tempo ... I can simply play along with it.

and, in the 12.0 Folder, is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 12.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Make sure that you are working with Folder Option "Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives" active so that you can see the complete path cited.

If I 1) knew TeX well enough to fix it, and 2) could get the guy to answer the phone or email so as to give me the sourcecode or to fix it himself, I wouldn't have bothered figuring out that the thing could be fixed one page at a time by a) getting a copy of acrobat pro, b) figuring out how to turn on all of the extra toolkits, c) finding the edit object button in randomly named toolkit, d) right clicking on the chapter title and selecting the e) ever so obvious "delete clip" menu selection.
At this point I would absolutely love to never have to touch an adobe product again in my life, but my hand has been dealt and if I'm going to print the manual for a software library that we've spent a cumulative $70,000 for, I have to figure this out and I really don't want to have to hit [Page Down], [Ctrl] + [A], Right click, delete clip for >700 pages.
I felt certain that once I'd figured out how to shift the pages down using ghostscript so first two lines of each page weren't getting cut off in the printer non-printable region, and finally figured out this that a relatively simple scripting solution would be immediately apparant. I mean, there are APIs for both applescript and javascript, but I'm mystified by how to get to the edit object feature from within them, much less how to tell that feature to delete clips for everything on a page.

Let it do the rotating thing for about 10-15 min. If it is still doing this, try wiping the phone in iTunes.

How do I normalize the audio in keynote?

I have created video in keynote with audio files on each slide. The audio on each slide have slightly different volumes. I would like to export the keynote presentation to video with a consistent audio volume, is there a way to do this without importing it into imovie, or some other video editting program? I would prefer not to import it in imovie because it degrades the color, sound and recrops the original video created by keynote.

This was a great suggestion and it solved my issue although I wish there was something natively, I am so grateful for this suggestion. Here is my process for correcting the audio for anyone that may be looking for a way to normalize their audio clips:
First I changed the file extension for my keynote presentation and changed it to .zip
This changes your keynote presentation into a normal compressed folder.
I then copied all the audio files that were stored in my presentation folder and converted them to AIFF (Levelator only normalizes WAV and AIFF files) and dragged them into "Levelator"s conversion window. Levelator batch normalizes and compresses your files and outputs them with a new file extension once converted. (There isn't any editting options here Levelator seems to normalize and compress to a preset level, simple!)
After the files were converted I changed the file extension and name back to the original file extension and name that was in the original keynote folder and replaced the original keynote audio files with the newly converted ones from Levelator.
This lets you replace your existing audio files in your presentation and keep the timings and settings you already have.
