How to not allow itunes to divide up a soundtrack or compilation?

Is there anyway for itunes to not divide up cd's by artist, but to keep them all together?

Have you had a look at this troubleshooting page? It may be of some help: Why aren't songs with the same album art grouped together
For compilations and soundtracks by various artists make sure you mark the tracks on the album as "Part of a compilation" and fill in the Album Artist field as "Various Artists". Click on the first track of your album to highlight it, hold down the shift key and click on the last track to highlight everything in between. Right click on the selection and choose Get Info. You'll get a message asking if you want to edit multiple items, say yes. Go to the Options tab and change "part of a compilation" to Yes and choose OK.

The "bubbles" appear on the receiver's screen when you are sending an iMessage.  If you don't want the receiver to see the bubbles:
    Settings > Message > iMessage = "Off"
Then your messages will be sent as SMS text messages (without "bubbles").

  • I updated to iTunes 10.5 on Vista. As with iTunes 10.0, The DEP will not allow iTunes to open.  WHEN IS APPLE GOING TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE?  I can't update my telephone or iPod.  I can't even open the iTunes program!!!

I am sick of dealing with this issue.  I wish not that I had never even started using any Apple products, beginning with iTunes.  WHEN IS APPLE GOING TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AND MAKE ITUNES SOMEHOW COMPATIBLE WITH DEP IN WINDOWS VISTA?
That being said, Is there any way to resolve this?  What I did in the past is completely wipe ALL Apple files from my computer, and install an older version of iTunes.  It was at least functional.  It seems that any version of iTunes 10.0 or more recent is not compatible with the Data Execution Prevention in Windows.  You can not remove iTunes from DEP, yet DEP prevents iTunes from running.
The down side is that I can't get the latest updates for my iPhone or iPod.  Now, I have a new phone for my husband that needs syncing on my iTunes, and I can't do that because iTunes won't even open.
Can somebody help me out with this, please?

OK, lets do a complete overhaul to make sure it's working ok.
First to check your Windows system file for any corruption:
Go to command prompt (START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES right mouse click "command prompt" and choose "Run as Administrator"
    type in
    sfc /scannow
let Windows fix any system files that need to be repaired.
    Restart the computer.
Start iTunes and see if it is ok.
If it doesn't, will have to go through the whole process of uninstalling and installing acccording to the following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
(Referenceinstructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components)
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

  • I have recently had to have my PC software re-installed due to a virus attack. When I have re installed iTunes my computer keeps closing it with a message that DEP (Data Execution Programme) will not allow iTunes to function. How can I resolve this?

I have recently had a full re-install of my computers software however once I have re installed iTunes it wont allow it to stay open and a message window reads iTunes has been closed due to DEP (Data Execution Programme). How can I resolve this issue?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.

  • HT1420 how can i allow itunes to accept cookies?

It says that the computer should accepts cookies from itunes. How should that be?

Make use of Home Sharing with iTunes between the computers. You can transfer content from one computer to the computer you are syncing your iPhone with to be transferred to the iPhone along with streaming content from either computer not currently on the iPhone from either computer when at home and both computers and your iPhone are connected to the same wi-fi network.

  • Data Execution Prevention will not allow iTunes to open.

This started when I plugged in my iPhone to update it.  Data Execution Prevention closed the program then, and I can't open it again.  I have completely deleted all Apple programs from my computer.  I deleted all temporary files, defraged my hard drive, ran virus protection, restarted my computer and downloaded iTunes 10.0 AGAIN for at least the 10th time.  It always appears to install correctly, but when iTunes is supposed to open afterthe install tool closes, I get the "iTunes has stopped working. Winidows is checking for a solution" message.  Then Windows automaticly closes iTunes and I get the message that DEP has closed iTunes.
Prior to trying to update my iPhone (which started all this) I was running iTunes 9.  I never had any problems with it.  (Is there somewhere I could go to download this version?)
At the moment, I do not have Quicktime installed because I deleted it, and it was not installed the last time I installed iTunes.  iTunes still will not open.
I enabled myself as administrator, and moved other users to "Standard" in the Vista User Account Control.
I am using Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit.  Apple only gives the option of installing the 64-bit version of iTunes.
Is this just a bug in the iTunes update, or what.  I would really appreciate any help I could get with this.  I have been reading suggestions and solution on these boards for the past 2 days, and nothing has worked so far.
    Thanks!

  • After I install Itunes 10.5.2 and open itunes a window opens stating another program is not allowing itunes to burn cd's. Next, I get an error window stating itunes 42404 is missing. I've uninstalled itunes 3 times and re-installed. No luck.

After I install iTunes 10.5.2 and open iTunes a window opens stating "The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and CD's and DVD's are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes." This happens everytime.
After that on one occasion a window stated "Itunes msi) was missing. Upon uninstalling and reinstalling that disapeared. Now I get a window stating, (A required Itunes component is not installed. Please repair or reinstall Itunes.(_42404)"

  • Windows 7 not allowing iTunes as default player

Hi, discovered an interesting problem. My friend was trying to play an album that I sent to her via email to download on her pc. When she told me iTunes wasn't playing any tracks even after she made the computer choose iTunes as the default player for music, I thought she was nuts.
I therefore went on my pc that has iTunes and I downloaded an mp3 to my pc to test it out (I don't use my pc for music since I have everything on my macbookpro for that). To my surprise, even after choosing iTunes as the default player to play music on my pc, not a single track plays in iTunes. When you double click the track or select it to play, nothing happens, the track stays at 0:00 I stuck a cd in the pc and iTunes uploaded it and put it in the library so I thought at least these would play. Same thing, you click on the tracks to play them, none play and they all stay at 0:00 This is so strange. On my friend's computer however, imported cd's play in iTunes, but downloaded tracks don't play with iTunes, they open, but the tracks don't play. She tried clicking on the music file to then choose iTunes as the default player, but it just won't register and the problem persists. Any ideas?
What am I missing here? I'm sure millions of people successfully play their songs on their pc with iTunes??? Is there some windows setting that I'm not aware of that's preventing iTunes from playing music files on the pc? I chose it as the default already! I've never encountered this on previous pcs I had in the past.

I found that my USB connected external speakers were causing the problem. I unplugged them, relaunched itunes (can't remember if i rebooted) and then my music was playing fine. I then plugged the USB speakers back in and they also worked fine.

  • Quicktime update will not allow itunes to open

The Quicktime version for Power Mac with OS 10.5.8 should be QT 7.6.4
    anything newer will cause problems.
Why did you upgrade QT, was there a problem?
Also for the future, set automatic updates  to off in system preferences.

  • Not allow users to disable startup script

I have written a User Login script for indesign and have successfully implemented in Indesign CS3. However, anyone can disable the login script that I have put in the Startup script by modifying the Preference setting of the Indesign.  I would be very grateful if any one there could suggest me on how to not allow the users to disable the login script put inside the Startup Script folder.
    Thanks,
    Limbu, Keshar

Thank you very much for you response. But, it is not about the user right permission. There is a selection options in the Perference setting of Indesign. If you untick that option, Indesign will run bypassing the scripts in the startup scripts folder. Is there any way to not allow the users to not select this option so that the startup scripts does not get bypassed?
In the above preference setting the last check box is not selected hence Indesign will bypass all startup scripts. Only if this last option is selected the startup scritps will run.
    Thanks
    Limbu Keshar
