How to not store messages on the server...
I almost never used my mac webmail. And I justr ealized I've got like 20,000 messages and all of my space is used up. The thing is I've got a copy of all of these on my machine. So how do I get mail to just move the stuff to my machine and delete off of the server after a certain amount of time?
Now, I have to scroll through hundreds of webmail pages to get my mail disk space free. kill me.
If I've understood you correctly, you have two options here:
1. Set up your .Mac account in Mail as POP.
2. Leave your .Mac account as it is now, create custom "On My Mac" mailbox folders, and move any messages you don't want to be on the server from Inbox into an "On My Mac" mailbox.

"Could Not Send Message Using The Server...:
I never have any trouble sending from Apple Mail, except now I am trying to do a mass-mailing for our business. Is there a limit on how many people you can BCC?
For the 1st message I put 200 people in the BCC field, and the message sends fine. Then I setup the another message with the next 200 people, and the send fails. Get a notice that Apple "Could Not Send Message Using The Server SMTPOUT.secureserver.net". And gives me the option of selecting other servers, neither of which work either.
I am curious, are there limits on how many people you can copy on one message? Most, if not all ISPs and email account providers have similar limits per the following for personal/non-business email accounts as part of an overall effort to eliminate or reduce bulk spam emanating from the ISP's or email account provider's domain.
Any ISP or email account provider that doesn't impose similar limits is helping to contribute to the amount of spam that gets circulated.
.Mac has several safeguards in place to ensure that only .Mac members send messages with the Mac.com outgoing mail server.
Among them are reasonable limitations on:
The number of messages that can be sent each day (200 messages)
The number of recipients that can be sent to each day (400 recipients)
The number of recipients a message can be addressed to at one time (100 recipients)
There is also a 10 MB maximum size for messages sent or received using the .Mac mail system. -

Phone not deleting messages from the server
Please help! My Blackberry Curve 9360 is not deleting messages from the server meaning that, after returning home from a week working away, i've still got a few hundred messages to wade through on my PC.
I receive e-mails on the PC via Outlook Express. I've clicked on 'tools', 'accounts' then 'advanced' to ensure that the box for 'leave a copy of the message on the server' is unchecked i.e. messages sould be being deleted from the server when prompted to by the phone but this is not happening. Not sure what else to try or perhaps there was something i did / didn't do during the set-up of the phone.
Any guidance would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Barry.Hello,
Please check this KB:
KB05133 Email reconciliation features for the BlackBerry Internet Service
All reconciliation capabilities between your BB and your email SERVER are governed by that KB. So, even if you set the other settings (e.g., "Delete On") correctly, they will be irrelevant if your email service does not support it (as per that KB).
Further still, reconciliation between your email SERVER and your PC CLIENT software are something completely separate. Only in a very few circumstances (e.g., IMAP) does (for instance) Outlook reconcile items deleted at the Server down to the PC Client.
Good luck!

How to redownload old messages from the server
On my primary PC with Windows 7-64bit, I have my server settings to leave messages on the server for 55 days.
I need to download the old messages again into Thunderbird probably due to some problems with Time Warner Road Runner sometimes blacklisting Netflix e-mail (if that is the proper term). Netflix is aware of the problem with TWC bouncing their e-mail.
I know that if I went to another PC with Thunderbird--all the old and current messages from the last 55 days should be downloaded to it.
But how do I download them again (if possible) to my primary computer with Thunderbird? If I go to web based e-mail at TWC, my old messages from up to 55 days are listed.Close Thunderbird. Then delete the file popstate.dat in your profile.

Cannot uncheck "Store messages on the server" even w/latest Mail update
Using a FastMail IMAP account, I uncheck the box in Mail Preferences -> Accounts -> Mailbox Behaviors for "Store [sent/draft/deleted] messages on the server". When I save the settings, the mailbox drawer (lefthand window) briefly flashes a new section for the IMAP account, and then removes it. At the same time, Mail.app seems to have re-checked the boxes for all "Store [sent/draft/deleted] messages on the server" options.
This happens even with the new Mail update patch released today -- Nov. 7, 2013.
This all used to work fine in Mountain Lion.
Is there any workaround or fix being worked on?
Thanks.I have to say that I am beyond frustrated with the way Mail 7.0 keeps checking the box to "Store deleted messages on server" for my outlook.com IMAP email account. I have searched for hours on the web for a solution and nothing has worked for me.
The effect of this is when I delete a message in the Mail app on my MacBook Pro, the message remains on the server and appears Mail on my other IOS devices (IPhone, IPad) and in other email application (Outlook 2011). However, deleting a message on another IOS device, via another email application or through the web works as expected.
-I have unchecked the "Store deleted messages on server" box and it magically checks itself again
-I have deleted and added the outlook.com account back to Mail
-I have deleted the com.apple.mail.plist file
-I have scoured the outlook.com settings on the website for a solution to no avail
Does anyone know what the h*** is going on and why Mail keeps changing this setting back? -

Ipad mail is not deleting messages off the server
I have my setting configured to delete email;s from server when removed from inbox but it doesn't. My provider stopped my account because I had 1200 messages in there. Any ideas?
Are you sure that instead of "when removed from inbox" it isn't "when deleted"?
It may be a problem with how your provider interacts with commands coming from the device. Which provider is this? Perhaps someone who uses the same service will be able to assist you. -
My messages are not being deleted from the server
Hi,
Mail is not removing messages from the server. Every now and than I have to remove messages from my server manually. I went through all the settings ... it works as intended on 2 out of 3 machines ... am I missing something? I can use "delete now" in Mail preferences ... not a big deal, just a nuisance.
Thanks, StephanAre the Mail settings sticking between reboots on that one Mac?

TS3276 my email error says can not send massege using the server
I am trying to sen an email an the error message says"can not send message using the server" I don't how to fix this.
What OS are you using?
Double-checking all settings is good. Along the way, one thing to try:
Have a look at your SMTP server settings to see if the port is set to "default" or "custom". If it is "default" try switching to custom using one of the numbers listed under "default". That fixed it for me on one of my accounts.
(To do all this: Mail, Preferences, Accounts, Outgoing Mail Server, Edit SMTP server list, Advanced.)

IMAP and deleting messages from the server
Anyone else trying to use IMAP in the default mail app and seeing that messages deleted locally are not removed from the server?
I found a lot of posts about this issue on older Android versions and devices, but nothing for the Bionic yet.
And unlike for POP accounts, there is not an option in the settings to turn this on. IMAP is all about keeping messages and folders in sync between multiple clients, so this is an annoying bug.
I have been using K-9 as a work around, but I'd rather not use two different mail programs, and don't like the look/feel of K9 as much either.DCZim,
Are you using IMAP or POP? Also, are you using a popular public IMAP service like GMail, MSN, etc. that can be "auto configured" without having to manually enter the server name?
Per Google the IMAP bug (which has been fixed some time ago in the Android Mail app but not yet in Motorola's Blur mail app) is triggered by visiting the incoming server settings for the account.
IMAP's entire purpose it to keep everything in sync between multiple devices/clients. If you want to delete messages on your phone without deleting them from the server, you should use POP3 instead of IMAP and ensure you have the client configured to NOT remove messages from the server when deleted locally and to always "leave a copy of message on the server". This is a general concept of POP3, nothing specific to the Bionic, Blur, or Android. -

How do I resolve this related Ical message? The server responded with “400” to operation CalDAVUploadDropBoxFileQueueableOperation.
I am having this problem too...and also I (most of the time) can't invite anyone on my google apps domain to a meeting. WEIRD! HELP!!! I just switched to Mac from PC...this was supposed to be EASY!
I get all kinds of error messages...
1) The request for “Test Appointment” in “[email protected]” in account “yyyy.com Google” failed. The server responded with “400” to operation CalDAVScheduleEventQueueableOperation. *My google calendar *IS* updated despite the error, but the appointment is greyed out on my calendar.
2) The URL https://calendar.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user///calendar.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user/ encountered HTTP error 404. Make sure the URL is correct. The URL *IS* correct.
Also, when I try to invite people to appointments, iCal adds random attendees and frequently will not add an attendee if they are in my domain. HELP. -
Error message "... could not be found on the server."
I have been subscribed to a podcast for 3 years. I received an error message for that subscription recently stating,
"There was a problem downloading "Civil War Podcast by Dr. James Robertson Jr. from WVTF. The URL http://www.wvtf.org/news_and_notes/feeds/wvtf_cw_rss.php could not be found on the server."
Something else that may or may not be related, for months I haven't been able to find this specific podcast in the iTunes store when I search for it. However, my iTunes continued to download current podcasts.
What does this mean?I believe WVTF changed the podcast feed URL. I went to their website http://www.wvtf.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=44 &Itemid=160&limitstart=5 and got the feed URL and entered it directly under Advanced -> Subscribe to Podcast. The URL I used is http://www.wvtf.org/index.php?option=com_podcast&view=feed&format=raw
Good luck, Chris -
I am not able to go to the facebook site. www.facebook.com is not working. I get the following error message. 404 Error - Not Found
The resource you have requested could not be found on the server. There are many possible reasons for this. Either the file does not exist, there is an error in your request, or the file is not accessible in the requested directory. Please verify that:
* You have used the proper case; requests ARE case-sensitive!
* You have entered the URL correctly. (i.e. proper directory/filename)
* You used the FULL URL. (i.e. proper file type: .html, .gif , .jpg, etc.)
* You use a tilde (~) before user directories. (i.e. www.furcen.org/~jurann/ )
* The user/file still exists on this server.
I also get redirected to "Busca Google" when typing www.facebook.com in the address bar.
