How to obtain "permission" to update?

Each time I download an update to Firefox and attempt it drag it into my applications folder, I first get the message asking if I want to replace the older edition. When I click yes, I then get the message that I do not the the necessary permissions. My work-around is to delete the old Firefox from applications, for which I must enter my admin password. Then I can drag the new one to Applications. Is there a way that I can apply the permissions for the first step? Thanks

There are two possible issues: (1) the ownership and permissions on the Application folder and (2) the ownership and permissions of Firefox itself. If you do a Finder File -> Get Info operation on the Applications folder, what is the owner and what are the permissions? On my Mac the permissions are these: system: Read & Write, admin: Read & Write, everyone: Read Only.

Yeah.. this is what a lot of people think. Unfortunatly it will cost you $$ if you get caught. I know it's not intentional, but think of it as creative art. There is someone back there who is trying to make a living creating these sounds. Because he creates sounds instead of a widget, he shouldn't get paid for it?
Also, getting mechanical liscences are not only difficult, it's time consuming. Takes time to do it, and you have to wait weeks, sometimes months to get the actual permission to do it.
Google search for a site called FREEPLAYMUSIC.com
They used to have all of their audio (1.3 gig) loaded onto the early idisk software as a free download from Apple, now they are a pay per song basis.
I was able to download their stuff before apple took it off the site.
You can get previews that are real nice, and their stuff is not too expensive now, compared to other music sources.

I need to know for audit propose the updated column name in a After Update Trigger on a Table.
The table have more than 20 columns, and i think that do more than 20 conditions asking for the difference between the :new value and the :old value is not the best way.

I didn't know that i can pass the column name to the UPDATING. This is only possible on 10g??
Any way, i pass the column name and works fine, but i have another issue because of that.
I obtain the column name from a cursor that query user_tab_columns view, when i try to obtain the value of the :old or :new, i can't because i don't know how to obtain the value of the value.

I have an answer to my question. There is a bug in IOS8 that prevents third party applications to talk to the Health Application. Apple is trying to fix it ASAP

At launch Firefox updater keeps asking permission to update, how do I permanently stop that?

In the past when I've updated Firefox it has made my add-ons stop working, however I've never had any virus problem as I have other programs to handle that. So for me, updating Firefox is more of an inconvenience than a benefit (not to mention changes in layout that I'm used to and stuff like that). I do not want to update, and I've gone into the settings and turned the Update settings to never. Yet, every time I open Firefox I get a popup first from Windows telling me that Firefox updater wants permission to update Firefox. It's annoying, to the point that I'm going to switch over to Chrome if there's no way to solve this, but I'd prefer not to as I've always liked Firefox.
How do I tell Firefox Updater once and for all that I do not want to update and do not want to be asked about it ever again?

I actually don't understand why you are getting those prompts from Windows. It sounds as though the update was already downloaded and staged before you started Firefox up again. I vaguely recall reading some threads a year or two back about clearing out a downloaded update but the details elude me.
Unrelated: Your More System Details shows you have a an optional user.js settings file. If you did not create this file yourself, it may contain settings added by other software that override your previous session preferences at startup. You may want to investigate. Yes you can start the Java Cache Viewer:
just open a cmd/shell and type:
javaws -viewer
on top there is a drop-down to switch between the different cached things, You can also see the JARs that you have in your cache currently.

On my iMac:
I had to go into my device settings > Display
then I set the "Optimize for:" to "CAT-6066"
after that I selected the "Scaled" option right underneath
then i selected 1080i because the Kanex Pro is designed to convert 1080i into component
I was then able to get my NewTek Tricaster 40 to recognize that component signal from the Kanex Pro and add it to my production as 1080i or as 1080p/30. The frame rate looks great and the video quality is very smooth and in real time.

It's quite confusing when you leave Struts and try to adapt your projects for JSF for the first time...
I wanted to click on a row with a "onMouseClick" on the TR tag like I used to do in Struts/JSTL. But it seems to be impossible in a dataTable.
Ok then. I've added a column at the end of the row with an icon.
But eventually I didn't need to declare link parameters.
In my BackingBean I did like this :

I used to build my web applications with Struts and JSTL and doing this kind of interface was really easy.
I've decided 3 days ago to convert into JSF because the "GUI Layer" seemed to be improved.
But now I realize that I cannot put a onMouseOver and onMouseClick on a row and I cannot display a different row in the middle of a table....
I think it's a shame because there is a facet for header and footer.
And it would be great if we could create our own personal facet that appears only if a condition is true.
For exemple " if the current item id is the same as the request parameter id then display the following facet content ....... (with a panel group and a form inside to update the row) "
It's easy to do that with JSTL thanks to c:forEach and c:if but it seems to be impossible to use JSTL tags like this during the dataTable iteration.
And JSF tags seems to have no logical tags like " if " or loops that can be nested in dataTable.
I really need to realize this interface (you click on a row then an edit form appears where you clicked).
Do I have to write a component myself that extends dataTable?
Do you know if writing such a component is hard to do for a beginner like me?
(I've juste discovered JSF 3 days ago and I've used Struts/JSTL for 2 years til now)
I'd be glad to have much advices from you about that.

Temporarily save to another folder, until you figure it out.
Just because you are the owner and are the sole administrator, does not always guarantee that you have permission. There are several folders that you can not access no matter how hard you try. As for folders in your document folder, it is more likely a basic permission setting that took on permissions of a copied file. Some folders and files are set to a child/parent default setting, meaning the child folder/file (the one you are accessing) has the identical settings of its parent and when the parent changes, so does the child.
You can alter the parent or the child folder/file.
Right click on the folder/file select properties.
Click on the security tab.
Click on each of the group names and see what permissions are set.
You can then edit a group if necessary.
If it will not allow it, you may need to use the advanced button to create a new copy of the group which should happen when you alter its settings (In other words, you don't have to physically create the copy, it does it for you when you OK the changes)
The administrator should have full access to the folder in the documents folder, if you are listed as an associate of the administrator group your name should also be listed there with full access. The System should also have full access.
All other groups should have reading access only if they exist.

User dont have permission to update this object

I have exported a from into OIM and tried to give permissions of some groups via "object permission" tab. but I am getting an error message "user dont have permission to update this object". Then I looked into (Business rule definition)Data Object Manager tab to look for permissions on my custom form but there was no system administrator group having permissions of insert, update or delete. Please suggest how to add groups to this form and provide permissions.

Go to your System Administrator group within OIM. On the Data Object Permissions, add the user to your form with all permissions. The entry will have the name of your form's Description. Once System Administrators is on the form, you should be able to modify however you'd like. If all else fails, you can always modify your XML file to include the System Administrators as having permission and then import again.

I am trying to install Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007. Everytime I try it comes up with an error of not having sufficient permission to update files. I am the only user on my laptop, logged in as me. I've tried many things but I am not an extremely tech-savy person. Does anyone have any idea of what my problem is or how to fix it?
