I have a menu item, and when i click that menu i want to open automatically tnsnames.ora (the main idea is that i have developed a security application), and the DBA has to open that file when clicks on a menu item, to add/remove entries (instances).

Is that Photoshop? Depending on the version you could try to change the Color Theme (Edit | Preferences | General | Appearance).
If that does not help, you may have a better chance to get a useful answer if you ask in the Photoshop or Photoshop Elements forum.

If you have a different camera, use the software that came with your camera to develope the RAW files and convert them to a different lossless format, that Aperture recognizes.

You can place your file in /WEB-INF and use
          ServletContext.getResourceAsStream("WEB-INF/...") to read it, or,
          if it is in the classpath (classes ir lib), you can use
          Class.getResourceAsStream().

How to open *.CR2 files from new 60D ??

My Elements 7 will not open or recognize CR2 files from my new 60D. Nor will it allow me to open CR2 files in another format. I get error messages saying they are "the wrong type of file" or that a codec is missing. It opens CR2 files from my two Rebels just fine. I have downloaded the most recent codec (1.7.0) I can find from Canon to no avail. I downloaded a trial version of Elements 9 - same problem. Am I doing something incorrectly?

Well, after downloading - and purchasing - PE9, and downloading ACR 6.2, am still having the same problem; not recognizing the 60D CR2 files. I have actually downloaded the 6.2 several times, with and without unzipping and extracting files, to no effect. I will try calling Adobe Monday to see what the heck is going on. This is extremely disappointing.
I may have to resort to use DPP for raw conversion, save as a TIFF, then open in PE for editing (this does work). If that's my only option, I hope Adobe will refund my purchase price. I'll try to keep you updated on what happens.

Hi, I can't open my RAW files from my Canon 1000D in Photoshop and Lightroom cc (trial version) Also the DNG converter doesn't recognize the CR2 files. When I check the list with supported camera's the 1000D is there so it should be working. Anyone knows how to fix this? Thanks!

How to open Pages files from previous versions?

Can anyone tell me how to open a pages file I made on Pages '09? I don't remember uninstalling that version of Pages, so I'm guessing the current version just wrote over it. Anyway, it won't let me open those files, which is puzzling since I can open Office documents from that time period. Thanks.

Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Note: Apple has removed over 90 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Hi. I have backed up my Mac email database to the cloud. They are stored in mix format. My question is: may I access to an mbox file from my Ipad in order to look for and view a certain email? If so, which App would serve to do this?. I am using Mavericks in my Mac and IO7 in my Ipad.

To be honest, i don't even know how an Archive is handled, as opposed to a live Inbox...never archived my Inbox, as i always try to keep my entire Inbox/Sent history live and searchable...can you index and search an Archive the same way as a live Inbox?
I'd be happy just to have those mboxes (Inbox and Sent Items) deposited in the Cloud, and searchable by content and everything else from some search app (not even sure yet which search app i would use for this).
Just to solve this huge problem i was faced with when Yahoo purged my Inbox and didn't allow me to sync it back up (i thought that was the whole point of subscribing to an IMAP email service), i created a new IMAP account with Rackspace, who did allow me to sync both of those mboxes up to their server, but i have found that their indexing isn't as granular as Yahoo's was, so there are many searches that come up empty, when i know that those emails exist on their server...so i keep searching for a better solution.
very upset at Yahoo and their complete lack of proper customer support...it's been all but impossible to get a hold of a human being over there...they keep sending you to their FAQ and Help website, which is ridiculously bad for solving real-world problems, such as the one i've had...you'd think that paying my subscription fees for over 12 years would guarantee me a certain level of support, but they literally *try* to make themselves unavailable, and succeed quite well in shielding their human employees from their customers...'nough said!

@Sam – Instead of a "dialog" type of Window use a "palette" type:

"palette" creates a modeless type of dialog.
Or close the Window with type "dialog" before opening the file with:

In case you want to open a .cmdrw with its associated application you can use the following procedure:
webutil_host.NonBlocking( 'rundll32 url.dll,FileProtocolHandler ' || client_filename );This works for every file where a program has been associated to its file extension. (Adobe Reader for *.pdf, Microsoft Word for *.doc, Microsoft Excel for *.xls and so on)

I'm trying to open .db files as well. They were created by different versions of Nokia PC Suite, and I want to import the information in the Ovi software that Nokia is pushing now.
I lost my phone, and I am trying to recover some of the information that should still be contained in the Nokia PC Suite files located in C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Local Settings\Application Data\PC Suite (on a Windows XP system).
There are different subfolders with different .db files, I'm not sure what they are all for.
I opened one of them using Notepad, and I was able to see contact information like this in between a lot of codes (phone number replaced with * for privacy reasons):

When I open Nokia PC Suite, I can't tell it to open a specific .db file. Previously, it was also the case that I couldn't get access to any of my synced contacts or messages from within PC Suite when my phone wasn't connected. Anyhow, I was hoping to be able to perform an export to CSV from that application but it seems that I can forget about that.
Apparently, I can't import these files with Ovi either.
Any advice someone?

How To Open Alias File From Terminal

I am trying to write a script where I can tell it to open an Alias. I mounted a network drive and created an alias so when it is not mounted, I can double click it and it will mount. I need the script to call that alias and mount it. I would just use mount afp command but since our machines are on a Windows domain we run into errors. Anyone know how to call an alias from terminal?
