How to open a "PDF Documents" in iBooks?

Hello!
In order to "study" some documents (underline, write comments, etc as it was presented in the Maverick Video Show), i added some pdf documents to iBooks (on Maverick).
How to open it/them? when i click on a "book" (document), nothing happens. Why?

The annotations tools you describe only work on iBooks, not PDFs.
when you click on a PDF in iBooks Library, the document should open in Preview. Is that not happening?

Hi All,
I have Link to URL UI element in webdynpro java layout - on click of the link we need to open the pdf document from KM respository.
KM Document location : irj/go/km/docs/documents/RHPortal//USA/A/Test/Employee_details.pdf.
Once this is transported to Test and Production portals , we need to retrieve the KM document from the respective portal location through the Link to URL UI element .

Hi,
If you set the link to your document in a Context attribute by using a relative path this should work just fine.
Example:
wdContext.currentContextElement().setUrl("/irj/go/km/docs/documents/RHPortal//USA/A/Test/Employee_details.pdf");
Bind that attribute to the reference property of the LinkToURL element.

How can I share PDF between my Apple devices with Ibooks? I have on my Ipad a lot of PDF manuals that I want to see on my other devices so I don´t need to download them to Ibooks on every device. Sync is on in the setup but it seems only to work with books and not PDF.

No - it will not work with PDFs. You might consider another cloud service such as Box, DropBox, or Google Docs.

In Acrobat, open the document and go to File>Properties>Initial view. You will locate all of those items there.

I want to use a Tree control which will be generated runtime.
When i will be clicking a child element of the tree node at runtime depending upon which node i have clicked if the node cotains information about the .doc file the word control should get opened if it is PDF, Excel, JPEG or any other image then depending upon the file type the corresondig application should open the file.
please suggest any method or class for performing PDF or word related document operations.

Can you open the Preview program without loading a file, like by itself?
If it doesn't load then I suspect a corrupt Preview preference file.
Deleting the System Preference or other .plist file
Can you open other files with Preview, like jpg's and images?
How about other PDFs? or is it just that one you have downloaded?

This issue occurs with most of the PDFs that I open up. I am using the latest version of adobe reader on my windows based machine and it is a general PDF. I saw a similar post online stating that if you look at the fonts used in the document and it doesn't say (Embedded) next to it, then Adobe Reader will try to pull the font(s) from your computer and if it doesn't find that font then it will replace it which makes it look funny.

Okay, seems I've stumbled upon an ugly workaround but it works for me. I'm using Windows 8.1. Go to the install directory, i.e." C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\AcroApp\ENU". Create a new subfolder (I used "Disabled"). Move 3 files from the "ENU" folder into the new "Disabled" folder: AppCenter_R.aapp & Home.aapp & Viewer.aapp. Open a PDF and no more Tool Pane! I originally moved just the "Viewer" file but if you clicked on "Home" or "Tools" on the toolbar you couldn't go back to the "Document." Moving all 3 files takes care of that issue. Like a lot of people I don't and won't ever use any of the tools. I just want a reader. Let me know if this works for you.
