Is there any way to open an Appleworks 6 Database file in Mavericks?

Thank you for the referral, VikingOSX, as a solution to his problem:

Doug's got it right. It sounds like you are trying to open a later version file in an earlier version. This will always be handled as opening the PDF portion of the file. Try Googling AI_openMultiPagePDF for a script to open these or Resave from the newer version to the older.

    hi all,
adf11g how to open pdf or html files from webservice .

    Hi,
This is standard functionality, that you can read more about in the OLM User Manual. You can upload the files to an OLM content server or to any other content server that can be accessed with a URL.

  • Firefox4 always cannot remember how to open these types of file

When I download certain types of file, for example, .rar file, firefox4 always cannot remember how to open these types of file next time. The check box “automatically use the same method to handle the file” in the download popup window looks grey and cannot be checked. Also, these types never appear in the list of option-application. I check previously installed firefox 3.6, these types are all called (application/***). What’s more, when I want to turn off computer, as long as firefox 4 is opened, it will lose response and prevent Windows from turning off. Whatever I do, reinstalling firefox, deleting profile and even reinstall Windows, I cannot get rid of those issues. I think these are bugs of firefox4. I hope they will be fixed as soon as possible.

Purchase a legal copy of Windows instead of attempting to pirate it. You will then have the installation disks you'll need and won't have to worry about opening Torrent files.

  • How can I transfer all my files from Mavericks Thunderbird to Mavericks Mail

How can I transfer all my files from Mavericks Thunderbird to Mavericks Mail?
    Bonjour,

  • How to open and read binary files?

How do I open and read Binary files?

Did you  look on The Unarchiver's web site where it has a link to older versions? http://theunarchiver.googlecode.com/files/TheUnarchiver3.2_legacy.zip
The best thing to do is ask your friends what programs they used to produce these files, or at least what format files they are producing.  Otherwise it's like being shown a car and given a bundle of 200 keys with no idea to which one to use, or even if any of them work with that car.
Using The Unarchiver will likely not do anything because it too will not know what format files are involved, and they may not even been in an archived format.  If they sent you a Word file without telling you (a favorite of Windows users to do  -- it drives me crazy when they could have just sent them in plain text), The Unarchiver won't open them.  If it's a picture file then using Hexedit will just show you a bunch of unintelligible stuff as shown in an earlier post, though you may see a line of text providing a hint.
As I said earlier, often .bin may be an executable program which needs another program to actually interpret it.  That's what Java is trying to do.  Still, it may think it can execute the file, but it is highly unlikely somebody would send you an executable program (and if they did I would not trust it).  For all you know it may be a Windows virus.

  • How to open a specific excel file by activex & overwrite by set_cell_value.vi

I've seen the 'Write Table and Chart to XL.llb', but how can i open an existing excel file/workbook/sheet and rewrite some of the data instead of open a new worksheet everytime? It may already shown in your examples somewhere, but since I'm new to activex/property node stuff, I can't figure it out. Your help is appretiated.
    Thanks
    Anthony

The process is very similar. Starting with the example, open the diagram and you'll see a VI labled "Open Book" (The name of the VI is actually "Open New Workbook.vi". Right click on it and select Replace/Select a VI...
Now navigate to \\Labview 7.0\examples\comm\excelexamples.llb and select the file "Open Specific Workbook.vi". This VI has an input for specifying a filename to open.
Likewise, the example also calls a VI named "Open a New Worksheet.vi" replace that with "Open a Specific Worksheet.vi" (found in the same place).

  • How to open-up a pdf file to a particular page via java? (file and page number from another program)

I have created an Access 2003 Form. Data is entered. The data can be viewed once entered in the same form format, with one addition. The addition is a link to another program where we store files. The files stored are pdf documents. Each document is a scanned file (500+ pages). The link can open-up the pdf file. I want the link to open-up the pdf file to a particular page. I will supply the page number from the database.
I am aware of Adobe Acrobat 7.0 PDF Open Parameters using a URL that specifies the file to be opened plus actions to be performed once the file is openend (i.e. http://example.org/doc.pdf#page=3). However, the 3rd party program transfers a file from a server to the client via java. The file does not go via a web browser. The java code transfer the file directly from the file server to the the client.
Any idea how to accomplish the task of viewing a particular page with the process flow described?
I am using Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional.

So you are reading this file in a standalone version of Acrobat? If so then use the PDF Open Parameters /a option via the command line.
    Sabian
    Example:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Acrobat>Acrobat.exe /A "zoom=1000=OpenActions" "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Acrobat\SimpleSubmit.pdf"
    Where:
    Path to Acrobat: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Acrobat>Acrobat.exe
Note: The example starts in the Acrobat application directory
    Switch: /A
    Parameter Syntax: "zoom=1000=OpenActions"
    Path to file: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Acrobat\SimpleSubmit.pdf"
Note: The quotes are very important for the syntax to work appropriately.

  • How to Open the FailedFilesLog.txt File (statement), and How to Increase the 100 File Limit (question)

It took us a while to figure this out, so I'm posting this in case it's helpful for someone out there. Plus, I have a question...
DPM gave the following error for one of our file servers:
Description: The replica of Volume D:\ on <servername> is inconsistent with the protected data source. Number of files skipped for synchronization due to errors has exceeded the maximum allowed limit of 100 files on this data
source (ID 32538 Details: Internal error code: 0x809909FE)
Recommended action: Review the failure errors for individual files from the log file
\\?\Volume{8492c150-f195-11de-a186-001cc4ef89a0}\B1E9D373-2C03-464E-A472-99BC93DB1E2A\FailedFilesLog.txt and take appropriate action. If some files fail consistently, you can exclude the folders containing these files by modifying the protection group or
moving the files to another location.
So, how do you actually open the FailedFilesLog.txt file shown in this DPM alert? What is this path referring to? Well, this is the mount point for the protected server's replica volume on the DPM server, which is mounted under \Program
Files\Microsoft DPM\DPM\Volumes\Replica\servername\File System. Here you'll see the mount points for all of the server's protected volumes. However, if you try to open one of these mounted volumes
in Windows Explorer, you'll get Access Denied, even if you have administrator rights. (If someone knows of a way around this, please let me know). As a workaround, you can access this mounted volume in an elevated
    command prompt. Steps:
    Open an Administrator Command Prompt
    Type mountvol <AnyAvailableDriveLetter>: \\?\Volume{VolumeGUID}
Example:  mountvol m: \\?\Volume{8492c150-f195-11de-a186-001cc4ef89a0}   Note that we're only using the first part of the path to the FailedFilesLog.txt
file given in the DPM alert, starting from \\? and ending after the
    } character.
Next, type m: to change to the newly mounted m: drive.
Then type cd B1E9D373-2C03-464E-A472-99BC93DB1E2A   This is actually a folder name so we're just going into this folder.
Finally type dir and you should see the FailedFilesLog.txt file. This file can be copied to another location where it's easier to use (i.e. in Windows Explorer).
Be sure to unmount this volume when you're done by typing mountvol m: /d in the command prompt. (Mountvol reference:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc772586(WS.10).aspx.)
What a pain, eh? But at least by reviewing the FailedFilesLog.txt file you can determine which files or folders caused the sync to fail and thus take action accordingly.
Now, here's my question: Where is that registry key that lets me adjust the limit of 100 files that DPM allows to be skipped before it fails the replica? Hopefully someone out there will tell me. I know this can be done because Kapil Malhotra
    said so in this post:
    http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.dataprotectionmanager/browse_thread/thread/a179fa30fb50c9b0/e9a348f2a9386063?lnk=raot.
Also, does anyone know what the internal error code 0x809909FE means in this alert? Knowing this my help us determine what caused these files to fail. Interestingly, in the FailedFilesLog.txt file, it gave a different error code next to each failed file:
    0x80070002.
    -Taylorbox

Thanks for responding, Fahd. So, just to be sure...
Do I add this registry key to the DPM server or to the protected servers (or both)?
In either case, the ContinueOnFailure key does not currently exist. So, I must create this key and the MaxFailedFiles DWORD value
    manually, right?
Does the server in which I create this regkey have to be restarted for it to take affect?
Can the DPM alert for the 0x809909FE error event (for exceeding the limit of 100 failures) please be adjusted to provide a path to the FailedFilesLog.txt file
that actually works if you click on it?
Any ideas on why the 0x80070002 "File not found" error happened? The files on the server were simply created and then deleted. Why would such file activity lead to this error?
    Thanks,
    -Taylorbox

  • How to open more than 1 file at a time in PSE12?

How do you set PSE12 to open more than 1 file (jpg) at a time? I've seen this question come up many times but no one seems to get the problem resolved. I've tried all the suggestions. Any assistance appreciated.
I had this program installed and working as I wanted about 3 months ago. I then uninstalled and reinstalled a few days ago. Now it won't open more than 1 file at a time.

    Hi,
My theory is that Windows get confused when it is opening the program file and the following intsructions should create a unique copy. I have produced the instructions in detail because I am never sure how much people are use to - forgive me you know much of it.
    Open Windows or Folder Explorer
    Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 12
    Look for PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe
Right click on the file and select Copy
Right click on a blank space and select Paste - you should get a prompt asking if you want to continue - you do - this should produce a copy of the file
Rename PhotoshopElementsEditor - Copy.exe to PSE 12 ED  - you should get a prompt asking if you want to continue - you do
    Close the Explorer
In the Windows Control Panel, select Default Programs
In Default Programs, Select Associate a file type … - it will take a while to display the list
Scroll down to the type you want to select - say .jpg and select it
Click on the Change program button
    Click on the Browse button
Search for the PSE 12 ED file renamed in 6 above, select it and then click on the Open button
Click on OK and close the Default Programs
Now try your tests. I can get multiple files to open as well as retain Expert mode.
    Good luck

  • Can't open old appleworks/clarisworks files

I have just purchased the new intel iMac and cannot open my old clarisworks/appleworks 5 files properly. I imported them from my old 333 MHz/OS 9.2.2 iMac using a jump drive. Is my best option to try MacLink? I will be purchasing MS Word also but have found that some of the old files will not format properly when I try to open them in the trial version of Word which came with the new computer. The text files are fine when I open them in Word but anything like tables, charts is a formatted mess. I did use MacLink on my old iMac and found it worked well but it is a bit more expensive now than when I bought it before ($20) .

Thank you Peggy and Barry. I never realized that the jump drives were formatted to Windows or Mac but I am really new at some of these advances in file transfer as well as just about everything else in Apple Computer land. However, regarding the jump drive which I used to transfer the old files: it is a Lexar Jump Drive 2 GB, USB 2.0 Flash Drive. The installation notes indicate that it is for "Windows 2000/Me/XP and Mac OS 9.0 or Higher. No driver installation required. Plug the JumpDrive into the USB port on your computer and it's ready for use." That would indicate to me that this is probably not the problem. As I indicated before, the old files which are straight text which were created in AW 5 or perhaps even earlier versions and/or Clarisworks open perfectly, properly formatted, etc. when I drag them onto the trial version of Microsoft Word located on the dock of my new computer. My problem is with charts created in the word processor and spreadsheets which display as garbage when I drag them onto MS Word. Regarding the ethernet option, I would think that I still would have the same problem since I have no appropriate program on my new computer to open those old files - the trial version of MS Word isn't doing it for all the files. There are no firewire ports on my old iMac so that is not an option. I have come to the conclusion that Peggy's suggestion of purchasing AW 6.2.4 at the very reasonable price of $24.99 from Hardcore Mac sounds like the most promising option since I would then have an application on my new computer which should open the old files assuming that it does recognize the old AW created files (I believe that some of them were created in versions earlier than AW 5). I am assuming that the intel processor in my new computer isn't going to be a problem with AW 6.2.4. So I'm ready to purchase this program. Does this sound like the most reasonable course of action to follow? Thanks again for your help.

  • How to open a book.indb file at full size?

I have a desktop shortcut that opens a book.indb file, which holds info for about 20+ chapters. But when the Book palette opens, it always shows just the first 8 chapters. I have to drag the bottom of the palette down to see the entire contents. It's not exactly a major issue, but is there a way to get the Book pallette to display its entire contents when it opens?
Also, I've set up my WinXP PC so that all palettes open on the secondary monitor. When I re-open InDesign, it remembers the positions of each palette on the secondary monitor, with the exception of the Book palette. This one always opens on the primary monitor and I need to drag it over to the secondary monitor to get it out of the way. Again, no big deal but it would be nice if InDesign could remember where to place this palette.
    Any suggestions about the above?
    Thanks, John

  • Simple ques.: how to open new empty editor file in Xcode 4.0?

I use Xcode 4.0 as an editor for stand-alone C++ programs.  In earlier versions, I  would just open a new empty file (cmd-shift-N, I think; the new file option, which was just cmd-N, gave me something else) and start typing. But in v. 4.0, I haven't found the option to do this.  Under File->New, it only offers me the option of new project or new workspace.  There is an option for new file, but it's grayed out.  So what I have to do now, to get a new empty editor file, is open an existing C++ program in Xcode, delete the contents, and save it under a new name.

Alas, that doesn't work either (I had already tried that).  When I click on the Empty Icon I don't get an empty file.  Instead, I get a dialog box asking me to create a project.  Then when it's finished I get this:
Now, once I've done this, THEN I can do (because it's no longer grayed out) File/New/New File/Other/Empty (so this, at least, now explains why my submenu looked different from K T's: he must already have had a project created, while I had not).  But besides having all these unnecessary steps (since I have no interest in creating a project), it still doesn't give me just the simple text editor I used to be able to get; instead I get this more complicated-looking window with what looks like a debugger, which I'm not using:
On the other hand, if I open one of my existing C++ programs in XCode, then I do get just exactly the type of text editor window I used to be able to get just by directly doing cmd-shift-N.    So does anyone know how to get to this directly, without creating a project, etc.?:

  • How to open the server log file that displays messages of System.out.print

    Hi,
I am working on a j2ee project. How can we access the default log file? I have put many System.out.println(..) method in different classes in order to get the program flow and to track the origin of the error.
I opened the a log file named "defaultTrace.0.trc" in usr\sap\J2E\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\log installation directory. Although it shows the ecxeptions, It is not showing the messages that i have written to console with the help of System.out.println(..) method.
Can anybody tell me the location of the log file where i can find my messages sent through System.out.println(..) function?
    Regards,
    Sudheesh...

System.out.println goes to console, which is not a file... This whole thing is much easier if you use standard logging:
