How can i open a document from mac when i am using windows without transferring it?

depend on the document program more then anything else really
when ever I open a doc with word it make a history for undo and redo action file in the same dir
with bootcamp you only have read not write access to the osx partition so it would fail to be able to create that file
but if you can get word or whatever program you use to open the file not to place a temp file in the same dir
or use a program which did not make any type of temp file or used a program where the temp file would be located elsewhere where you decide it would work file

How to open lower cd tray when in windows?

I have a 2008 mac pro with the original drive in the top tray and a bluray burner in the lower tray. It's connected by sata to a spare sata plug on the mac pro motherboard. I run 10.6.8 and windows 7 in bootcamp on another hard drive.
Both trays and drives work fine in OSX and open fine with eject and alt+eject. But in windows only the top drive opens and shows up on the drive list in computers, so I can't even open the lower drive by using the eject command on its drive icon under computers.
Can anyone please advise on how I might get the lower drive door to open when using windows, and why the drive is not even showing up when in windows?

No Powerbook has a G5 processor. Your subject line inquires about a Powerbook (assuming you made a simple typographical error), yet the body of your post says g5.
If it is a Powerbook G4, which it would say under the screen, then you just need to follow these directions:

If that doesn't work, and it is a 15" or 17" Powerbook G4, see if the clock battery needs replacing at an authorized service center.
Otherwise you may have a logicboard issue, or bad RAM.

The camera roll is not part of the sync process at all.
You should be importing these photos to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera. Youc an organize them on your computer and sync the to the iphone if you wish.
The photos sync from the computer to the iphone is one way.
The iphone mirrors the selected content of the computer to which it is synced.

iWork documents (Pages, Numbers, Keynote) can be saved to iCloud and opened by the corresponding apps on the iPhone.
PDFs can be transferred via iTunes or Dropbox and read using an application such as Goodreader.

I am executing an sql query which return a intersection of values from 3 tables.
Here is the query I am using

concatnation is done using + in java.
I am doubtful about the following line where there may be error

How do i adjust from mac Gamma to Windows Gamma in Photoshop CS3?

It was real easy in version 7, all i did is seelct mac to windows in adobe Image Ready. There is not program like that now in CS3...how to i adjust an image with a Mac gamma of 1.8 to the Windows Gamma of 2.2? i tried the convert to profile option, but when i select a gamma of 2.2 it goes all grey....HELP can someone tell me the exact steps??

That Levels adjustment does the same thing as the Curves adjustments I suggested. Curves are preferable to Levels, but that's a whole different chapter.

With all respect, you are 100% in error, DEAD WRONG. Macs used an 1.8 gamma for Mac monochrome monitors, and that has been abandoned for decades.

WRONG AGAIN! It is Zeno3333 who refuses to understand the basic concepts of color management.
Computers, PCs or Macs, have no "gamma". Color spaces do. And color monitors are calibrated to a given gamma.
The 1.8 gamma for Macs has been abandoned for a very, very long time. What's more, some Windows users used to calibrate their monitors to gamma 1.8 in the distant past. That is ancient history now, but it was by no means a Mac exclusive practice.

How do I install PFB fonts when using Windows 7 64bit?

I got a new 64 bit computer with Windows 7. But when I copied the fonts I was using on the old computer the PFB fonts do not work any longer.
The old ATMF program does not work on this computer so how do I now install the PFB fonts?

Hopefully you did not try to install the old Adobe Type Manager software. If you did, you may need to totally reload Windows if you cannot restore your system to its state prior to attempting to install that software!
Assuming that you didn't make that fatal mistake, the method for installing Type 1 fonts, each of which consists of a .pfb and a .pfm file is as follows:
(1)     Copy the .pfb and the .pfm files to a single directory if they are not already so available.
(2)     Select the .pfm files for the fonts you wish to install.
(3)     Right-click and select Install which will then proceed to install the fonts onto your system copying both the .pfb and the .pfm files to the C:\Windows\Fonts directory. Do not drag-and-drop these files! Alternatively, if you don't want the font files themselves resident in the C:\Windows\Fonts directory, when you right-click the files, select Install as shortcut. This installs the font but references it from its current location.

How can I use single hard drive for both Mac OS and Windows without changing the formats and reformatting?

I have a windows PC and a Macbook Air and a 1TB external hard drive. They said in order to transfer large files into the hard drive you have to change the format of your hard drive (which would be from MS-DOS to Mac Os extended) so how can I use my external hard drive on my windows PC without reformatting its files? Natively Windows can read and write to NTFS, FAT32, and exFAT while the Mac can read and write to FAT32, exFAT, and MacOS Extended.
Option 1: You can purchase driver software for Windows to allow it to read and write Mac's MacOS Extended or you can purchase a driver to allow the Mac to read and write to NTFS.
Option 2: you can format the hard drive for exFAT and use it with both Windows and the Mac without purchasing any special drivers. (Obviously the 4GB file size limit is why you don't want to use FAT32)

HT203164 How do I fix a problem when downloading cd into iTunes, "the file name is invalid or too long"? I have never had this problem before until recently.

Open URL Ivew in a new window without loosing the current session in Portal

Hi All ,
I have a requirement in which there are two tabs in portal which are two roles A and B
Where each tabs(role) has an URL Iview attached to it.
Current I am in Window 1 - Tab A
When I click on Tab B, it has to open in a new window (Window2) with Tab B content , where as the previous session (Window1)is not lost and Window1 has to show Tab A only.
Kindly help me out on how to implement it .

As per Prashant I made the setting .. When I click Tab 2 in Window 1, opens a new window 2 with Tab 2 iview .but the window 1 is hilighted with Tab B and the current session on Tab A is lost . As per the reqiirement I should not loose the focus on Tab A in Window1.
also Kindly let me know how and where can I sent the EPCM paramenter for the URL Iview .

How do I show iTunes my WMP music library without duplicating the files

I have kind of a lot of music on my Dell PC... most of my music is MP3 format. I like it that way, sometimes I want to use my old, dumb MP3 player to play music, so I can us my iPhone for more important things like, txting, talking to a person via the 'phone' feature, navigation, etc.... all without interruption to my music play-back.... so, I realized a while ago that whenever I 'show' iTunes music in my existing WMP library, it would duplicate the files and place them inside an iTunes folder, inside the 'My Music' folder. I'm sure there is a way to point my iTunes library to use the existing MP3 library, without it duplicating.... I just haven't been able to figure it out. Now I'm maxing use of 75Gigs of music storage... I think I'm going to have to resolve this duplication issue if I want to keep ripping my CDs onto my HD. Please don't suggest that I convert everything to iTunes and delete the WMP library. I'd love to do that, IF iTunes weren't so fat and invassive to run. That program has gotten too fat & slow.... (yeah, I know, WMP is catching up). Often, I just want to add some tracks to a device without the software inventorying my entire device before it will add a cpouple of tracks. For that, (I can't beleive I'm saying this) but I actually will use WMP whenever possible. iTunes is just too big, slow & bossy. So, can anyone help me out here? How do I get i-Tunes to see & use my WMP library w/out duplicating the files... just using the "My Music" folder as is? I'm sure someone told me that was possible. Many thanks!
