How to open emails on Comcast with ipad2

I cannot open my email messages on Comcast with my ipad2. I have tried to reset it and have set up the email account on the iPad settings page. Any suggestions?

I use the mail app or log into webmail with Safari without issue. Is everything else working OK on your iPad? Are you able to get email and open it on your computer?
You can always try this. Restart and/or reset.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Why can I not open email from comcast?

Suddenly I have lost the capacity to open email on my Comcast account. I can view that I have mail but they will not open.

Had the same problem. AOL had been working for months, stopped working for no reason. I checked the settings against aol's instructions and the username was wrong - aol state that the username should not have the @aol.com suffix but it did. The next problem encountered was that the iPad would not let me change the username under outgoing smtp settings. Answer is to do the following:
Go to settings -> mail ->aol account ->outgoing mail server.
Turn the primary smtp server off.
Create a new one for smtp.aol.com with the username without @aol.com at the end and your password.
The rest of the settings should populate automatically.

Hi all,
I am working on a new project. In that, I have to load a PDF contract form with FDF data on Internet Explorer Window.
I don't know how to do it. Actually I tried using this format on the URL (while loading the respective page)
http://www.example.org/pdf_file_name.pdf#FDF=http://www.example.org/fdf_file_name.fdf
But it opened as an empty pdf document. . Actually I need it with the fdf data.
Can anyone know any other way to do this?
Or is this not possible to open a pdf form with fdf data in a browser?

Just now I got an idea to use WScript (the code is written in javascript)

I'm looking for help specifying the AutoCAD options when opening DWG files. I have DWG files of floor plans that I always want to open at the same scale.
I can successfully open a DWG file with the default options using:
open POSIX file "/Users/crmckinnon/Desktop/cabin_floor_plan.dwg" as alias without dialogs
But I don't want the default options, so if I try to specify them:
open POSIX file "/Users/crmckinnon/Desktop/cabin_floor_plan.dwg" as alias with options {class:AutoCAD options, scale unit:"autocad inches"} without dialogs
I get a "Can't find alias" error. How do I specify the AutoCAD options? I'm sure this is due to my lack of understanding of AppleScript. Any help would be appreciated!

I'll answer my own question. Here's how I specified the options:
open POSIX file filePath as alias with options {pGSO:original size, pASU:inches, pASR:12.0 / 0.1875} without dialogs
I had to look in the Apple Script dictionary to get the "codes" to use. The variable names didn't work. I think that's because some have "global" in the name which is a keyword in Apple Script. Here's what the codes translate to:
pGSO = "global scale options"
pASU = "scale unit"
pASR = "scale ratio"

How to open a .DOC file with MS-Word ?

Hye fellow Java freaks,
I have made an application to upload .DOC and .RTF files to the server using servlets and the Jakarta Commons FileUpload package.
The files are uploading successfully.
Now, I want to place a link to the most recently uploaded file and then, on clicking that link, I want the file to open not in the browser, rather with MS-Word.
What is the servlet code that I should implement to accomplish this ?
Any suggesions ?

I think this is a client-side issue - how the browser chooses to deal with the .doc file it receives.
You can 'save as' and then open the file by hand.

Hi, I have transferred my photo selections created some years ago in Lightroom from Macbook to a PC. The file extension is .ivc. I have downloaded Lightroom to the PC but my computer claims that there is no program associated with the files. Any ideas on how to open them?

What version of Lightroom are you using that created these files?
I never used Lightroom 1, but I have used Lightroom since Lightroom 2 and it does not create .ivc files, as far as I know. With Lightroom 2 and newer, there is no way to save a collection outside the catalog file.

I want to build a servlet to open a well formatted and rich on media (images) ms word document search for tokens and replace them with information form a web form.

I used to have Adobe Acrobat but I don't have it any more.
When I had Acrobat the PDFs in my sistem and the PDFs in the web were opened without problems by Acrobat but now I just have Adobe Reader (not Acrobat) and the PDFs in my sistem and on the web are not opened and can't read them...
Even the PDFs in my sistem don't show the PDF icon as when I had Acrobat installed.
What could I do to be able to open PDFs by default with my Adobe Reader?

Right click on a PDF file and select Open with, then select the Always open with button. Search for Adobe Reader and go from there. This is an OS feature, not a Reader feature. For further questions about Reader, check the Reader forum.

Yes. In the editor, File>Open As, and choose camera raw as the format. John Ellis also has a script for doing this directly from the organizer, but I don't have the link right at the moment. Hopefully he'll be along with it sooner or later.

Then you are in bad fix. With that combination you are no longer able to open the library in Aperture.
You will have to wait for a new Aperture update, that will be compatible with your current Beta-version of iPhoto. Hopefully that will come with the release of the new MacOS version this autumn.
There is no supported way to downgrade your library back from that version to make it compatible with the current Aperture 3.4.5. Restore your Aperture library from your backup, and let iPhoto 9.4.7 not touch it again. The safest way would be to revert iPhoto back to 9.4.3 as well.
Anyway, we are not allowed to discuss pre-release software here in the public forums.

Can't open emails through Comcast setting.

I have a Treo 755p and Sprint service. For years I have set up my email for Comcast service as that is where I get my email at home. Starting several months ago, when I get an alert that I have an email I will try to "Get" them. The Bars indicating download of messages "1 of 6, etc." will appear. When the download stops, there are no messages visible. Also, the alert indicating that I had messages disappears --- so something happened. I have double-checked all settings, verified assigned passwords, etc. but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried removing the email account, then adding it back in using all of Comcast's latest email settings for incoming and outgoing servers?
