How to open firefox just this once without prior sessions restarting?

Last session I stumbled on a site infected with malware. Now, each time I reopen Firefox, the old sessions restart, as usual (and as I want them to, except for now), going immediately into the malware problem again.
Firewalls and anti-virus are handling the problem ok so far, but obviously I can't keep opening Firefox and banging against the malware.
How to open without restoring previous sessions? I'm not talking about changing the default setting, not talking about having it never restore sessions. Just this time, how to get around the automatic restore of sessions?

Your solution will be client setting dependent. The home page navigation and tab options for opening in the frame or new window are merely setting the href target in the home page html when the screen is rendered by the personalization service. As far as I know the tab behavior new to IE in version 7, and the tab behavior in other browsers like Mozilla/Firefox are both managed at the application level and will be client PC bound. The home page process just uses target="_blank" for opening links in a new window. I don't know if there is a browser neutral setting for something like target="_newtab", but it doesn't appear to be the case: http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/types.html#h-6.16

There are several possibilities for this situation.
1 - first session gains a lock on a certain file (with a predefined or hard-coded name and location)
second session will be unable to gain a lock on the same file and will thus know that the
application is already up and running.
2 - first session opens a port (with a predefined or hard-coded number).
first session writes some opening message to this port.
first session starts a thread which will listen to this port each ... minutes/seconds.
second session opens port, writes some opening message to this port
first session receives the message through the port and will reply some notification
and request for closing session 2.
session 2 will close.
Several solutions are possible for running a limited number of occurences of the same application,
for running all applications within the same JVM, and more specific control over the startup-process.
Different kinds of information for controlling this setup-step can be transferred via (known) files and ports.
Also take a look at sockets and java RMI.

I am trying to create a collage. From reading Evening and Kelby it seems that I should create a blank document and then open the photos that I want to include. My next step is to make a selection or drag the whole file to the empty document. Finally, I should use free transform and move the layers around for my final result. My problem is that I cannot open two documents at once. If I create the blank document, once I open a photo it relaces the blank but I cannot have both open at the same time. I have looked through my books (no shortgage of photoshop books, just practical experience) and tried a search. Doers it make a difference if the photo I am trying to open is not in Lightroom or Bridge but simply on my desktop. I am certain that I am missing something simple but the solution eludes me. CS4 and an iMac 24. Thanks.

If you want to work in tabbed view, do it like this:
Select the move tool. Go to the tab that contains one of the image files.
Drag the image over the tab that has the blank document (Keep holding down the mouse button). Wait till that tab opens.
Drag & drop the image into the blank document.

How to open a new browser window without toolbar, location, and menu bars from AIR?

I have the following problem in my Flex+AIR application. I need to embed an ActiveX component that has JavaScript API inside my application. I tried to embed it inside <mx:HTML> component but unfortunately, AIR doesnot support plug-ins or ActiveX controls. So I've decided to open it in a new browser window. I tried navigateToURL(...) method but it has two problems - it is opening a new tab in the existing browser window and there is no way for me to configure the new browser window appearance, like removing toolbar, menu bar, location bar, etc. Then I tried to open a new window from JavaScript running inside <mx:HTML> component using window.open(...) API but it doesn't open a new window at all.
Is there any way for me to open a new browser window without toolbar, location bar, etc. (which will run ActiveX control, so it cannot be AIR window) from inside AIR?

So, okay, here's my story: My laptop caught a virus, so i sent it to this guy who fixes computers, now that my laptop is fixed, everything is deleted from it. I didn't really mind this too much, but anyway I redownloaded iTunes to my new hardrive and then it said the following (posted above). My question is, how can i sync with this new library without erasing any data from my apps (such as games, photos, videos, music)? I REALLY don't want to lose this data!

- Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here.
Copy music
- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the IPod from that backup
Note that the backup that iTunes makes does no include symec media like apps and music.

When Firefox crashes, the next time it opens it tries to restore the previous session. I do not want Firefox to restore the previous session after a crash. How do I prevent Firefox from restoring the previous session after a crash?
Please note:
1- My home page is set to "blank page"
2- I have configured Firefox to NOT remember my browsing history, download history, form fields and passwords.
3- Even in Safe Mode (i.e., with all add-ons disabled), Firefox STILL restores the previous session after a crash.
