I have installed the player but it doesnt show up in logic..
what do i do??

Hi
Assuming that you are looking for Kontakt Player in the right place (Click hold the I/O slot on an instrument channel), and it is not there???
Go to Logic Pro:Preferences:Audio Unit Manager, and see if it is listed in there
Make sure you have installed the latest version of KP

  • When I try to open Kontakt 3, Logic always crashes.

When I try to open Kontakt 3, Logic always crashes. I have recently reinstalled Kontakt 3. What do I need to do to fix this?

I'm successfully using Kontakt 3 in Logic Pro 8.01 on a Mac G5 and OSX 10.4.11.
    Questions:
    1) Have you repaired permissions with the disk utility? If not, do so. There is a small chance that this could fix the problem.
    2) Can you run Kontakt 3 as a standalone program successfully? If not, uninstall Kontakt 3, and reinstall it and reauthorize it with NI Service Center.
    3) Will Kontakt 3 run as a plugin with a different host (like Live or DP)? If yes, I'd suggest uninstalling Logic and reinstalling it.

  • How can i know my logic pro 9 is for 3 install's?

how can i know my logic pro 9 is for 3 install's?

Logic Pro 9 (the DVD version) can be installed on a notebook and a desktop (2). The Mac App Store products can be installed on all Macs that you own. If you need a volume license (e.g. for a school) you should contact Apple.

  • 'You can't open the application "Logic Pro X" because someone else is using it.'

    Hello.
I have two user accounts on my MacBook and if I attempt to open Logic Pro X in ‘user 2’ while it is already open in ‘user 1’, I get ‘You can’t open the application “Logic Pro X” because someone else is using it.’
Now I know I can simply quit Logic in ‘user 2’ but this shouldn’t be happening should it? Any ideas anyone? Thanks.

Really? I wouldn't have expected that. Well, I may be wrong then and basing my assertion on a much older Mac OS (10.5?), since I haven't used multiple open user accounts for years.
However, seeing the wording of the message it is quite obvious that this is by design.
I think it is better to have as few programs as possible open anyway, just so Logic can use all available CPU and RAM resources optimally. Maybe if you have 16 GB or more that is not so important anymore.

  • Problems Opening Ultrabeat in Logic Pro X

Hey guys, I know this might be a dumb question but I just can't seem to find an answer. I can't seem to find out how to open Ultrabeat in Logic X like I was able to in Logic 9. Can someone tell me how to open it because it is becoming frustrating searching for it.
    Thank you!!

    Hi Moff,
It's in the same place as all the other Apple AU instruments.
If you look at the track inspector section of your instrument track (via clicking the the big i at top left) you will see a slot for "instrument" between Audio and MIDI effects slots. Click the little arrows (or the word instrument) and a list will appear. It's in that list about 2/3 of the way down.
    That's it!

SORRY!  I thought you were referring to Logic Pro X.
I assume the regulations will be different with earlier versions.

  • How to record guitar in Logic Pro 8

    Hi,
Well, I´ve got a Mac Mini, Logic Pro 8, Audio Kontrol 1 audio interface, and an acoustic guitar. What I would like to do is to record my guitar songs into Logic Pro 8 and add other sound effects. My problem is, however, that I can´t figure out how to record guitar using Logic Pro 8. In the "Preferences" I choose "Core Audio" as device. I connect my guitar into the audio interface (Audio Kontrol 1) and from the audio interface to my Mac Mini using an USB.
When I start playing, Logic Pro is silent. When I record, there is no sound. What is even more strange is that GarageBand is working perfect! So I guess it has something to do with the settings in Logic Pro 8. So, I ask you guys...do you know have to solve this problem? If so, I would be very grateful!
    Best regards,
    Tor

    Thanks guys!
I will try this as soon as I come home!
I will let you know how it works.

Well, I mentioned the aggregate audio device since I saw this article. Is this possible for me? Why should I do this?

  • How can I register my Logic Pro 8

    Hi people,
how can I register my Logic Pro 8. In the registration-system of Apple they don´t offer Logic Pro 8. There you can only choos eather Logic Pro 7 or Logic Studio.
    So what shell I do?
    Thank you for your help!
    Kind regards

    Hi
Unless you want Logic 8 on there (which will cause a load of trouble because the Installer will not run on M Lion), just install Logic Studio (9). The installer will ask for the 9 serial and the original (8) serial.

  • HT1444 How do I upgrade my Logic Pro to Logic Pro X ?

How do I upgrade my Logic Pro to Logic Pro X ?

If you bought it on the Mac App Store there are terms and information on how to contact Apple.  Though I know few companies where a purchase 5-6+ months prior to a new release qualifies for a "free upgrade," but you're always welcome to try.

  • Audio input,  Logic Pro with Lion

When I change my Audio input, I have to reboot my computer for the change to work. I am using Logic Pro with Lion on a macbook Pro. I am switching between a Mbox Mini3 and a Blue Yeti Mic. Is this normal?

What happens if you disable, then enable "software monitoring"?
I would imagine it has more to do with Avid's Core Audio drivers for the MBox.
Also, this is a personal preference:  I never have the Mac using the pro-audio interfaces, only Logic.
In Audio-Midi Setup and in System Preferences/Sound I only have "Built-In Audio" selected, my recording interface is for use with Logic only.

  • How do I make Bandstand Logic Pro 7's default GM Midi Player?

When I import a GM Midi file into Logic Pro 7 the tracks appear near the bottom of the page as part of the midi channels rather than in the section 'Inst 1 - Inst 8' (which I'm sure is what they're supposed to do).
I can find Bandstand when I change, for example, Track 22 (Clean Gt) into 'Inst 1' and then open up the Mixer and follow the I/O path > Stereo > AU Instruments > Native Instruments > Bandstand, and the track will then play
the correct GM Midi sound using Bandstand.
However I was under the impression that I could make any newly imported GM Midi file always automatically play GM Midi Bandstand-generated sounds.
If I go into the Environment, select Midi Instr. > New > Internal > Apple Quicktime I can instantly make all tracks on the imported GM Midi file play perfectly using Quicktime (although I still seem to have to do this each
time I open a new track rather than Logic default to Quicktime for any newly imported Midi file).
After installation I was expecting to find Bandstand alongside Apple Quicktime and ReWire, given that the instructions say that Bandstand will automatically integrate with Logic - but it's not there!
However I don't want Logic to default to QuickTime, I want Logic to play imported midi files perfectly using Bandstand each time without having to make any adjustments. I have been told this is possible. I just can't work out how!
I hope someone can help! Ean ([email protected])
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Hi Ean
I don’t own Bandstand but I have been looking at it lately, and I know you can open and play standard midi files right from the player section on the bottom right hand side of the interface.
When you import a midi file each midi channel, (1-16) defaults to a midi track for playback. since Bandstand is a VI you need to set it up similarly to the way the quicktime instrument is set up
In the midi layer of your environment, create a multi instrument, and name it Bandstand. set the midi out port to off and turn on each midi channel of the multi by clicking each one. Put an audio instrument object in the layer next to the multi and in the I/O select bandstand as the instrument. connect a cable from out of the multi to the input of the audio instrument.
if this is the only multi in your environment, when you import a midi file it should default to these tracks
I know this works for other mutitambril VI’s. hopefully this will work for Bandstand
By the way.. how do you like Bandstand? are the sounds real good?

  • How to disable echo in logic pro x?

I got for christmas logic pro x and ive been playing around with it quite a bit. Ive been using the Boutique 808 in drum machines and ive noticed that every time I hit a key for an instrument (such as a hi hat) there is a slight echo to the note. Ive been looking everywhere in the program to disable this echo. ive even started new projects but the echo is still there. I was wondering how to disable/get rid of this echo in the track temporarily or even for good. Please respond ASAP. Thanks!!

    Hi
The Boutique 808 Patch is a Track Stack. Open the Stack by clicking on the arrow in the Track Header, then open the Mixer. There is a Delay Designer plugin on the HiHat output channel.
Turn it off by Option Clicking on the plugin.

  • Opening plug in logic pro

    hi,
I used to use cubase with a pc and am finding logic 9 pro a bit confusing on mac.
I need to know how to open my stylus rmx plug in in logic...
    Any help is appreciated ..
    thank you
    Keith

Please go through the small 'Exploring Logic" manual, which walks you through these really basic things. You are going to need to know the basics if you are ever going to have any success using Logic (or any application).
Create a software instrument track, and in the "Input" slot in the channels strip, all installed third-party plugins are available to assign as that channel's input.

  • How can I move ALL Logic Pro Files (except for the app itself) to an external?

    Hi,
So I'm looking to move all my Logic content to my external hard drive and still be able to use the program effectively and efficiently.
I have about 5 years worth of content (adding up to over 100 GB of data in audio/instrument/project files) and I think it's time to find an alternative to suffocating my internal hard drive.
I'm looking for the easiest way to move all my content to my external and delete it from my internal (without altering the location of the app itself).
I understand "managing project assets", but this method requires me to open EVERY project one by one and change the location settings. I'm basically trying to find a way to move every project and its appropriate audio files to my external so that I can open them from there without having to go through each project one by one... I tried just copying and pasting the entire "Logic" folder onto the external and then deleted it from my internal, but when I attempted to open a project from my external's copied file, none of the content was found because the original locations of the internal were still embedded in the project. Also, none of the software instruments could be found because they, too, were originally located on the internal drive. Luckily I backed up my hard drive beforehand, so a simple restore brought me back to sanity.
I understand managing the project assets, but is going one project by one project at a time really the only way? There's gotta be another way :/
Thanks for any and all help.
P.S. I'm still on the Logic Pro 9 train, but that shouldn't matter too much. (hopefully)
