    Hi the_mad_movies,
It seems like this article will be the best option for addressing this issue:
Error 3194, Error 17, or "This device isn't eligible for the requested build"

  • Don't know how to open ports

    Hello.
Could someone please tell me how to open ports on my LinkSys WRV200 Wireless-G VPN Router.
    Thank you.

Open up internet explorer. On the address bar type the numbers 192.168.1.1 (username is admin, password is admin as well). Go to the Firewall tab. Depending on what kind of port opening you want, you either click on the Port Triggering or Port Forwarding subtab.
If you are hosting a certain program or application, use port forwarding. If you are just simply trying to use and access it, use port triggering.

  • How to open port 8000 (outward)

Can someone please explain how to open port 8000 for streaming Nicecast to my (network) IceCast2 server? Thanks!

If all you are using is the inbuilt firewall then it shouldn't be blocking outward connections.

  • How to open ports 80 and 443

How do you open ports 80 and 443?  I'm trying to connect a tv to the internet.

What router are you using? Who is your ISP? Also, what exactly are you trying to accomplish?

  • How to open port 443?, How to open port 443?

Hey, an online broking software wants connection to my mac. How can i open a special ssl port like 443,
i allrady did the routerconfiguration, how can i change the mac firewall?

    afromfrankfurt,
I came here for help on this subject and MAY have an idea why you are still having the problem after turning off the firewall on your Mac. Assuming your router works the same way mine does, you have to do something to create a path between the outside world and your Mac for traffic on port 443. I know there are ways to do this where the computer can dynamically do this but that is not something I have figured out at this point. The ONLY way I know to make it work is to make sure the Mac has the same IP address every time it uses that router and to tell the router to direct traffic coming in from the web to go to the address you have assigned your Mac.
Hopefully someone more knowldegable than I am will speak up and say how to do it dynamically because, if this is a laptop, assigning it a fixed address on your network can create problems when you take it someplace else.

  • How to open ports 2078 and 2077

I can't seem to figure out how to do this.
I need it for a webdisk for my site but can't get these 2 porst to open so it can connect.
any help on how/where I go to do this?

I'm not entirely sure if you're using the Mac OS X Server or the Mac OS X client software version here, so the following covers both. Use of System Preferences implies client, though this is a server forum.
With Mac OS X Server 10.6, use the Server Admin tool to open up the ports you need. Launch Server Admin > select the target server > select Firewall > select Settings > select Services, open the ports, Save, etc.
With Mac OS X client 10.5.1 and later and with 10.6 and later, the firewall mechanisms and settings are application-based and not port-based, and you select the application to allow, and it can then use whatever ports it needs. System Preferences > Sharing > Advanced... and then the + to add the application. (Details: [ht1810|http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1810])
If you're running this box as a network gateway, then things can get a little more complex; I'd tend to use an external firewall if that's an option.
If you're running this as the client for the disk services (as I might guess) and if you're accessing a remote web disk on a remote system via ports 2077 (SSL) and 2078, then I wouldn't usually expect to need to open these ports on the client; it's usually the remote server system and not the client that needs to open ports. (Are you getting any diagnostic messages here? Are you looking to serve disks out to other hosts via this protocol? If so, and if you're on Mac OS X Client here, then try adding the application that serves the disks to the list of applications known to the firewall.)
As an alternative, Apple servers and servers from other providers can run WebDAV disk services via port 80, which means that most any server that allows http web connections can also allow WebDAV connections. (WebDAV is a built-in feature of this Apache web server, so most any Apple Mac OS X box can serve disk space using http port 80 and WebDAV.)
The lower level approach to opening the ports is the ipfw tool, and the command line.

  • SRP527W - How to open port 491 for Go-Global apps

    Hi Guys,
Recently bought a Go-Global to a remote which require to open port tcp 491. I'm using SRP527W,  how configure using this devices, I tried using the port forwarding but failed.  Need anyone can help thanks.

I have the same request, and have tried the steps written in the post online, but the screen options are not what was explained.
Per the instructions with my IP Camera support, here's what I need to do:
    ======
First thing you will need to do is make sure that in the network settings of your camera that you have entered the correct gateway and DNS information. The default gateway address is going to be the LAN IP address of your router. The primary DNS address is also going to be the LAN ip address of your router. For the secondary DNS address enter the address 4.2.2.2, save these settings in your camera.
The second thing you will need to do is, you will need to log into your router and forward the port your camera is using (the default port is port 80) to the LAN IP address of your camera. This will be done in the port forwarding section of your router. You may need to contact the manufacturer of your router to have them walk you through these steps.
In order to access your camera, you will need to use the WAN (public) IP address that was provided to you by your ISP. As an example, the URL will look like this, HTTP://65.44.139.2 or if you are using a different port number other than 80, you will have to use the URL with the port number. That URL would look exactly like this, HTTP://65.44.139.2:81
    ======
I've changed the secondary DNS to 4.2.2.2, but I cannot find how to forward the camers's port to the IP address of the camera....I've set 198.268.1.240 as the camera address.
    Can you help?

  • Firewall in 10.5, how to open ports and how to manage?

I am pulling my hair out with the new firewall in 10.5. In 10.4 I could just set ports as I liked in the control panel, in 10.5 there is no such thing.
I need to for example open port 49999 to allow PageSender to function in my network.
I need to open port 5901 to work with JollyFast VNC, as port 5900 is used by Apple Remote Desktop and the conflict if they both use the same port.
Some of these ports I need permanent open like 59999 and others for one session and than close again, like 5901. Again in 10.4 I made the rule in the pref pane, ticked the box and Bob was your uncle. Now?
I would like to be able to see what ports are open and active on the machine. I have no idea as to where I could see this.
And at the same time I would like to keep the firewall as closed as possible as I am often on line in hotels etc.
So I need help, is there a manual somewhere someone is aware of? Or do you have any answers?

The new Application Firewall does not work in the same way as IPFW (the main firewall in 10.4).
Instead of managing ports, it simply controls the access of applications to any port. Thus, if you want PageSender to receive connections, you simply need to switch the firewall to "Set access for specific services and applications", and then add PageSender to the list, with "Allow incoming connections". When you do this, PageSender will be able to receive connections on any port that it needs to.
If you don't like this method of controlling connections, you can still use IPFW. Apple has removed the GUI, but you can download a GUI application like [NoobProof|http://www.hanynet.com/noobproof> or [WaterRoof|http://www.hanynet.com/waterroof/index.html], and you can then set access for specific ports.
There are no problems with using both IPFW and Application Firewall.
    Cheers,
    Rodney

  • How to open Ports for App running in VPC

Trying to open ports for a Windows app that I am running via VPC but the application still shows the port is unreachable.
So far I have, opened the port in Mac OSX Firewall, opened ports on my D-Link DSL504G router, disabled the Windows firewall (plus opened the ports in case it became enabled).
Have also redirected the ports to the IP address within VPC Windows and the Mac itself.
Have run out of ideas as nothing seems to work.
    Regards
    Alan

    Try the following ...
    AEBSn - Port Mapping Setup
To setup port mapping on an 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn), either connect to the AEBSn's wireless network or temporarily connect directly, using an Ethernet cable, to one of the LAN port of the AEBSn, and then use the AirPort Utility, in Manual Setup, to make these settings:
    1. Reserve a DHCP-provided IP address for the host device.
    Internet > DHCP tab
o On the DHCP tab, click the "+" (Add) button to enter DHCP Reservations.
o Description: <enter the desired description of the host device>
o Reserve address by: MAC Address
    o Click Continue.
o MAC Address: <enter the MAC (what Apple calls Ethernet ID if you are using wired or AirPort ID if wireless) hardware address of the host computer>
    o IPv4 Address: <enter the desired IP address>
    o Click Done.
    2. Setup Port Mapping on the AEBSn.
    Advanced > Port Mapping tab
o Click the "+" (Add) button
o Service: <choose the appropriate service from the Service pop-up menu>
o Public UDP Port(s): <enter the appropriate UDP port values>
o Public TCP Port(s): <enter the appropriate TCP port values>
o Private IP Address: <enter the IP address of the host server>
o Private UDP Port(s): <enter the same as Public UDP Ports or your choice>
o Private TCP Port(s): <enter the same as Public TCP Ports or your choice>
    o Click "Continue"

  • How to Open Ports

    Hi
For a guy who once installed systems on an SE that Apple told me would never work I'm a dee dee dee when it comes to understanding ports. I need to open two ports to run Tune Ranger (to sync various macs with massive Libraries) So far I have had to drag them together and do a straight ethernet run. Target mode hasn't worked. Accertant recommends opening two ports but I can't seem to get it right. Can somebody explain it without terminal speak?
    Thanks
    Enio

If your macs are on a network behind the same router you don't need to open ports you just turn off the firewall.
Running a firewall behind a router is not necessary as the router firewalls you.

  • WRT150N/How to open ports?

I need to open ports so I can accept game and private chat invites on Xbox live. I cant hear anybody when I play if they have a Linksys router also. If anybody can help, it would be fantastic.

    On Application & gaming tab
    1)      In fist row ….use any Application Name use any name e.g. X-BOX-1…. Under start poet use 88…under end port use 88…..use (static) Ip address of X-BOX ….click enable.
    2)      Under second row…..use Application Name use X-BOX-2…… Under start port use 3074…same in end port also …use static Ip of X-BOX ….click enable. Click save settings.
Click set up tab ….look for MTU – change it to manual & make the size to 1365….click save settings.
Now for X-BOX configuration use this link.
Let me know if you are able to do above settings or not.

  • How to open Port 85 & 37777 for NVR

I recently purchased a security camera system (Q-SEE / QC Series) for my house but the system required to have open ports 85 and 37777 to be able to view the cameras from outside the local network ie: from my computer at work.
Can someone please help me? I'm not a computer savy and I'm having a hard time to be able to accomplish this task.
    Thank you in advance

Matt's pointed you in the right direction - ignore the stuff about uPNP, you just need to use AirPort Admin to configure your time capsule - setup port forwarding to forward ports 85 and 37777 to the IP address of your camera.
Use AirPort Utility to access your Time Capsule. Under the Network tab you have the configuration for the network, including port forwarding options:
Click the + button to add a port forwaring rule and add the first public port (e.g. 85) and the IP address of the camera on the LAN that it should be forwarded to:
Here I've created a rule for port 85 - I'm assuming it's using TCP, but if it's using UDP just add the port values into the UDP fields instead (or in addition to). Also set the IP address to your camera's address (which probably isn't 10.0.1.201 as above).
Rinse and repeat for port 37777

  • How to open ports 119 and 443 in my Mac?

I've been trying to use the UseNeXT software with my Mac with no success. I called their support and they told me I need to open the ports 119 and 443. I contact Apple support and they told me that is beyond their scope (???).
Can somebody help me with that? I tried to find it online, but all tutorials that i tried didn't work or are outdated.
    Thanks

    Hi Drew,
It probably depends on the router as to the method used to open the ports.
As I have said elsewhere in the thread the first 1024 ports are open in most router to allow things to work Out of the Box such as Mail (110, 25, 567, 569, 995, 996 and many more ) and web Browsing (port 80 mostly but secure site can use 443) FTP (21 and 22) to name some.
Port Forwarding is one way to open some of the ports for One IP (computer).
Most routers have  table for doing this and this can be limited as to the number of ports included.
This Linksys pic shows how to do it for some as it allows groups based on Start and end ports. However it restricts it to one IP
DMZ is a form of Extreme Port Forwarding that opens all 65535 ports to one IP (Computer)
In both the above cases other computers (IP addresses) are excluded from using the ports.
Port Triggering doe allow multiple computers to access the same Port but requires that you know the lead  - Trigger - port involved for each app.
It is limited by the table size for your particular router.
Same Router in Trigger ports for iChat 3
Most router come with UPnP nowadays.
It is an ON/Off setting that allows the apps on the computer to say which ports are needed and when.
On some you can reduce the time to live  and the Hop amounts.
The ports stay open from a period of normally 30 mins after non use.
    This can be changed.
It also tends to list the number of Hops (the number of devices beyond the UPnP device) that it can be heard.
    My Sky Hub
I have no other router on my network but I do sometimes use Internet Sharing between two computers hence the 2 Hops.
Every other device is only one Hop away from the the router.
There are concerns that the "Advertisement" is seen upstream (internet side) as well as device downstream.
The Concern is that this could be Up to your ISP and then down to the "next" IP end user on the particular router/server at the ISP end.
I have seen no evidence of this being the case.
    Hope this helps.
