How to open shared calendar in Outlook for Mac 15 (Office 365)?

A colleague in my organisation has created a calendar in a different version of Outlook and shared it with me, but I am unable to access it. What am I missing?
I have tried:
Select Calendar
Click Open shared calendar
Search for the person's name. They appear in the list.
Select and click open. I get a popup saying "Outlook was redirected to the server secure.autodiscover.... to get new settings for your account (email address of person I selected). ..."
Tick "Always use my response for this server" and click "Allow". The same popup appears.
Again I tick "Always use my response for this server" and click "Allow". I get a popup saying "Outlook cannot open the folder. You do not have permission to open this folder. Contact (sharer's name) for permission."
Also, this colleague has triggered a share invitation email.
This contains an XML file that I cannot open with Outlook.

Hi,
According to your description, I notice that Outlook for Mac for Office 365 cannot open shared calendar.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Which account are you used, Exchange account or Microsoft account?
Would you please login OWA and test to open this shared calendar?
Outlook for Mac cannot open the shared calendar which is a sub-calendar, you have to ask calendar owner share all calendars under the default "Calendar" folder.

  • How to view my family share calendar in outlook for mac 2011 (ical)

    Hey All
    Problem:
Want to view my family share calendar in outlook for mac 2011.
Want to have them sync on the fly (push)
Currently running 2 exchange mailboxes which have their own mailboxes and calendars which you can toggle between.
For the PC this is a relatively straight forward task.. You can add an additional calendar to outlook and you are away. Wife's PC can view her own personal exchange calendar and on a separate tab she can view, edit, print etc the family share calendar.
For outlook for Mac, I've tried a few work arounds and none of them actually work, all the Apple documentation available doesn't really cover this.
Any help would be much appreciated
    Cheers

  • Syncing iCloud Calendar with Outlook for Mac (new Outlook)

Does anyone know if it's possible to sync your iCloud Calendar with Outlook for Mac yet (Outlook for Mac is the new Outlook that comes with Microsoft Office 365)? If so, how do you do it?
I've done some research on this question, and most of the responses are a few years old... wanted to see if anything has changed since. I find it weird how I can sync my iCloud Calendar with Outlook 2013 on my PC, but not with Outlook for Mac on my Mac--which is practically the same thing.
    Thanks ahead of time!

    Greetings kipp0606,
If you would like to use iCloud mail in an email client, you may want to review the following article. It contains the mail server settings you'll need to set it up:
iCloud: Mail server settings for email clients - Apple Support
Use these mail server settings if you need to manually set up your email app (client) to use an iCloud email account.
Do you need these mail server settings?
You can use the mail server settings in this article to manually set up your email app to send and receive email with an iCloud email account. However, you shouldn't need to do that if you meet the iCloud system requirements and can use any of these setup methods:
OS X Lion v10.7.4 or later: Use iCloud Preferences.
Microsoft Windows with Microsoft Outlook 2010 or later: Use iCloud for Windows.
iOS 7 or later: Use iCloud settings.
If you're using the Mail app in OS X Snow Leopard v10.6, use the mail server information in the iCloud Mail setup instructions for Snow Leopard instead of the settings below.Mail server settings
Refer to your email app's documentation for information about how to use these settings. iCloud Mail uses the IMAP and SMTP standards supported by most modern email apps. iCloud does not support POP.
IMAP information for the incoming mail server
    Server name: imap.mail.me.com
    SSL Required: Yes
If you receive errors when using SSL, try using TLS instead.
    Port: 993
Username: The name part of your iCloud email address (for example, emilyparker, not [email protected])
    Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP information for the outgoing mail server
    Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
    SSL Required: Yes
If you receive errors when using SSL, try using TLS or STARTTLS instead.
    Port: 587

  • How do I get newly installed Outlook for Mac to synchronise with iMail.

How do I get newly installed Outlook for Mac to synchronise with iMail?

Make sure they are connected to server accounts.   Create folders on the server account you can use to copy back and forth between the two.  Use the flag messages feature to ensure that only the messages you need to copy are copied.  IMAP accounts allow for servers with server folders, and local folders.   I don't know much about Exchange.

  • Does any one know how to Disable/Hide "BCC" from outlook/owa in office 365?

    Hi,
Does any one know how to Disable/Hide "BCC" from outlook/owa in office 365?
    Thank You.

    Hi Kavin,
You can try the below steps on the OWA server box,
search for this file name in explorer
    File name: "messageoptionsdialog.aspx"
    open this file in notepad
search for "chkbcc" you'll find something like this "input type="checkbox" id="chkBcc"
you need to update the LINE BEFORE IT to <td style="visibility:hidden">
Try this and let me now if this worked
Although I've not tried this for the OUTLOOK client, you can try this and check if you need
But this has worked for OWA for one of my client
I'm also not very sure if this can be achieved on all of your outlook users from a server admin point of view, coz this is a client feature and not a user specific active directory attribute.
    Thanks & Regards
    John Chris

  • Trying to sync Sharepoint calendar w/ Outlook for mac; Protocol Error; Used about:config and get same error.

I'm trying to sync a Sharepoint calendar with Outlook on my mac. When I click on "Connect to Client", I get this error:
Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (stssync) isn't associated with any program.
I used the about:config instructions to create a new string:
    * Type about:config into the address bar and press Enter.
    * Right-click -> New -> Boolean -> Name: network.protocol-handler.external.foo -> Value -> true (Replacing foo with the protocol you're specifying)
    * Right-click -> New -> String -> Name: network.protocol-handler.app.foo -> Value -> /path/to/app (Replacing foo with the protocol you're specifying and /path/to/app with the path to the application you want to run.
    * Ensure network.protocol-handler.expose-all is set to true.
The path I used (which opens Outlook if I click on the icon) is:
    /Applications/Microsoft Office 2011/Microsoft Outlook.app
I'm still getting the same error message.
Please help me to allow Firefox to open stssync pages so that I can sync my calendars.
    Thank you in advance.

  • How to sync Address Book TO Outlook for Mac 2011

I am using the native Address Book from Mac OS 10.7.5 and need to keep using it because it syncs with my iPhone. However, I am using Outlook for Mac 2011 and want the contacts to synch from Mac Address Book to Outlook's contact list.
Synch services have been turned on in Outlook.
Originally, I was going to switch to Mac Mail but discovered that importing mail from Outlook is a headache (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2664208?start=0&tstart=0). Outlook works well and has for years so rather than going through a bunch of manual drag and dropping of folders to make mbox files, or buying software to do it, I thought getting the contacts to synch would suffice since that's all that's really needed.
What I discovered is that Outlook will feed new contacts to Mac Address Book when they are generated in Outlook but the Mac Address Book does not feed new contacts to Outlook if they were generated in Address Book. Is this even possible? If so, how?
    Thanks,
    Karen
I read this previous thread but it talks about contact info going FROM Outlook to Address Book instead of the other way around: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2664208?start=30&tstart=0

I've got Outlook up and running just fine.  Still have the problem with getting duplicate emails but I'm waiting on MS to get a fix for that in an update.  Apparently that has been an ongoing issue.  I've been in contact w/ a senior MS Outlook tech on that.  I guess I'll just have to make sure that all contact adds/edits are done in Outlook.  Then I can sync my phone or iPad and get the cloud to update the other Apple devices off that sync.  Either that or figure out how to export from the Mac address book to the Outlook address book once in a while.

  • How can I get my Microsoft Outlook for MAC to work with ATT/Yahoo's email system?  ATT/Yahoo is telling me they're not compatible with the MAC version...

I have tried to make my Microsoft Office for MAC's OUTLOOK program work as the default email system.  But ATT/Yahoo says its service is not compatible with the MAC version of Microsoft Outlook...  Has anyone been able to make it work?  I can't change my ISP right now.

  • Sharing photos via Outlook for Mac 2011

I am using iPhoto 11 v 9.1.1 (527) and Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011 v 14.0.2 (101115). I have Microsoft Entourage selected for "Email photos using" in the General Preferences dialog box (Outlook is not available as a choice).
When I attempt to share photos via Outlook email via:
    Share> Email >Compose Message
I get the following error message:
Microsoft Outlook got an error: Can't make {subject:"8 great iPhotos"} into type property of draft window.
Is there some way to make this work so that I can share photos via e-mail using Outlook?
I know I can use the media browser, but that doesn't allow you to add captions, or to control the size of the image.
    Thanks, Dave

    Yes - as noted
If you search the forums some people report to have found a solution Request Apple - iPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback and Microsoft address this issue permanently
At this time Outlook is not supported but some people have reported to find a hack to solve this - have you searched for the post?

  • Integrate Google calendar with Outlook for Mac?

I'm a fairly new MacBook Pro user (OSX 10.8.4) with MS Office for Mac (including Outlook) installed (v14.3.6).  Is it possible to integrate my Google Calendar account with Outlook, and if so, how?
    Thanks!

There are not many Outlook users here, and Outlook is not an Apple product. Your best path is to ask in Microsoft's Office:Mac forums here:
    Office for Mac forums
They have very helpful forums like these with other Office:Mac users contributing and you will often get a Mac-using MS employee giving help

  • Office 365 - How sync Outlook for MAC with Iphone

    Hello everyone,
I just bought a Macbook air and I use a trial version of Office 365 for MAC (I will have to by it I guess). How can I sync my outlook (calendar, contacts, task) with my Iphone???
I had a pc before (using Office and Outlook 2007) and I was able throught Itunes to sync my contacts and my calendar. But not, I don't anymore this option in Itunes??? The only way is throught iCloud? I tried and I wasn't able to sync with Outlook.
I enabled 'Sync Services' in Outlook but it doesn't works grrrrr
It look likes if the only way is throught iCloud???? How it works???
I choose Office 365 because it must have a new Office for MAC in 2014 and it will be "free" for the Office 365 subscribers. That's why I didn't buy Office for Mac.
And what's the difference with the defaut calendar in Outlook 2011 for MAC (Office 365) with the calendar 'On my computer'? Something to do with the backup?
Thank you everyone, your help will be very appreciate

  • How can I import Outlook for Mac mail into Lion Mail?

How can I import mail from Outlook for Mac into Lion Mail?

It is not Outlook that needs to be sync'd; it is the Exchange Server.  Find out from the System Administrator of the Exchange Server the EXTERNAL name and use that to setup a new mail account in Lion Mail.  I highlight the "external" because the URL used for Window's Outlook Clients will not work.  Try the webmail URL first.

Thanks, I'm confused.  My IT guys say that my contacts and Calendar won't be able to syncronize with My Outlook.  Would it be a better option to not use Outlook at all?
Yes it would, Outlook for Mac is not very good (and hardly works with iCloud at all) whereas the native applications (Mail, Contacts and Calendars) are excellent, and support iCloud correctly.

  • I'm too old to learn iCal.  How do I tell iTunes to synch with Outlook for Mac for all of the Contacts and the Calendar on my iPhone and iPad??  Thanks

I'm too old to learn iCal.  How do I tell iTunes to synch with Outlook for Mac for all of the Contacts and the Calendar on my iPhone and iPad??
Also, once I figure out how to replace iCal with Outlook/Mac on iTunes, how do I synch the phone and pad so that the information on those devices over-writes onto Outlook as a backup, rather than having a blank Calendar on Outlook wipe out all of the information on the phone and pad???
    Thanks

If you haven't tried already, plug your devices into iTunes, and on each device next to the "Summary" tab at the top is another tab called "Info." Click that and scroll down to Contacts, Calendars, etc. There should be a pull down bar under each category for "Sync contacts from..." and you should be able to select from that pull down list Outlook.  Hit Apply at the bottom and see if that does it.
