How to organise images (files) for profile creation

I am trying to get my head round this. I am on the way to shooting 324 images for one lens. Each set of 9 are together. Do I then group sets into a sub folder? And then those groups by, say, focal distance into another folder. Otherwise how does the creator cope with the massive memory requirement to cope with all the files at the same time? You can see that I am a bit of a dumb-dumb about this.

Good question. It would be very helpful to organize photos by the focus distance in separate folders because ALPC knows how to sort the focal length and aperture based on the EXIF metadata. The focus distance is a hit and miss. ALPC does not use it for sorting automatically. It has to be done manually. Say you put the images into folders A, B, C according to the three bucket of focus distances. Then import all the images in A, B, C in three separate batches (into to same project file). The ALPC will know to put images in A, B, C into three different focus distance sets while also sorting into finer sets based on the focal length and aperture. This is the easiest way to go.
If you work with a lot of images in a single project. I recommend saving the ALPC project file regularly so that you can always pick up where you left off the last time.
