How to organize custom stamps in stamp pallette?

Is there a way to organize the stamps in the custom stamps pallette?  I've added 20 custom stamps to the stamp pallette and I named the stamps consistently.  However, the stamps seem to be organized in the pallette in the order that they were imported.  I'd like to have the stamps organized or grouped alphabetically in the stamp pallette based on each custom stamp name.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Not exactly. After the stamp is applied it's flat and can't be edited. However, you can add form fields to the stamp template and have them edited just before it is applied, using a script that prompts the user to enter the values. This is called a "dynamic stamp" and creating it ranges from quite easy to very complicated, depending on the amount of type of data the user should enter.
If you're interested I could develop such a stamp for you, or you could try to do it yourself... There's plenty of information about it here and there's even an entire book about the subject by Thom Parker.

  • Is there a way to use custom stamp packs in Line?

I love the UI stencils, and I'd like to create some of my own.

I was thinking that using Illustrator or Adobe Ideas for the stamp creation would make sense.
    Possible workflow could be:
    Workflow In Line:
    - Create edit custom stamp pack
    - Organize custom stamps into stamp packs
    Workflow in Ideas:
    - Create Idea
    - Send Idea to Line as a stamp
    Workflow for illustrator files:
    - Open in Line

  • How to organize Mail folders?

    Hello,
I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to do something in Mac Mail (I'm on Mountain Lion with a MacBook Pro with Retina Display).
In the past (pre-Mountain Lion), I had individual folders for each of my mail accounts. For example, I had a folder for Comcast mail, Gmail, Hotmail, iCloud, and Yahoo. In the left-hand column of the main Mail window, it was nicely organized so that there was the "main" folder for a particular email service, and then underneath that folder there would be other folders such as Sent, Trash, etc.
However, the way it appears now is that there is one single "Inbox", and underneath that Inbox are MORE Inboxes, with each one being a different mail service. For example, under my Inbox, the next thing down is "POP Account", then "GMail", then iCloud". But they ALL fall under the main heading of "Inbox".
I really don't care for it to be set up this way. I much prefer having a dedicated Inbox for each mail service, and then the various folders that relate only to that service underneath.
I hope I'm describing this correctly. For years, it was set up the way that I liked it. I'm not sure when it self-changed to the way it is now, but I really don't care for it. I've gone through all of the menus and I can not figure out how to get it back to the way it was.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The “On My Mac” folder has never existed as such, neither in Mail 1.x nor in Mail 2.x. Mail uses that term to differentiate custom mailboxes stored locally on your computer from mailboxes stored on the server of IMAP accounts.
In Mail 1.x such mailboxes appeared in the mailbox list grouped under an “On My Mac” icon, whether that’s how you wanted them to appear or not. In Mail 2.x, this changed to offer greater flexibility in how the user wants his/her custom mailboxes to be organized — see Mail Help’s “My mailbox organization was lost after upgrading Mac OS X” article. This allows the user to have multiple top-level “On My Mac” hierarchies, or name the group differently, or have custom mailboxes appear directly at the top level of the mailbox list for greater convenience, etc.
To answer your question, no, you aren’t stuck with how Mail organizes custom mailboxes, but as you have found out, Mail has some bugs & glitches when it comes to reorganizing mailboxes, and you should make a back up of at least your ~/Library/Mail/ folder before start making changes, just in case.
I sometimes reorganize my own custom mailboxes by renaming and/or moving them, and have never experienced any issues myself, so you should certainly be able to do things like that. There are only two things I recommend not doing in Mail when reorganizing mailboxes:
    1. Even though Mail allows it, don’t use a folder as both a mailbox (i.e. to store messages of its own) and as a parent folder for other folders.
    2. Never, ever, rename a folder just to change its capitalization. If you want to change from uppercase to lowercase or vice versa, rename the folder to something different first.

You just copy the stamp files from one machine and place them in the correct directory on the other. You can find the location of both the user and app stamp directories by running the following code in the interactive JavaScript console:
    app.getPath("user", "stamps");
    app.getPath("app", "stamps");
Select both lines and press Ctrl+Enter (Windows) or cmd+enter (Mac). Here's what I get with this using Acrobat 11 on a Mac:
    user folder: /Macintosh HD/Users/georgejohnson/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat/11.0/Stamps/
    app folder: /Macintosh HD/Applications/Adobe Acrobat XI Pro/Adobe Acrobat Pro.app/Contents/Built-in/Comments.acroplugin/Stamps/
The stamp files (PDFs) might have cryptic looking names, but you can safely open each to see what stamps they contain.

  • How do I flatten a custom stamp in Acrobat XI?

I use a custom stamp made from a scanned signature for signing documents.  There was a simple flatten function in the Document menu of Acrobat X that quickly merge the signature into the document.  I do see such a function in Acrobat XI.  I use Windows 7.  Any suggestions?

By the way, that blog post above doesn't make it clear that this folder isn't created by default when you install Acrobat, so if it's not present, you have to create the ..\Acrobat\Privileged\11.0\JavaScripts folder manually and place the script file there.

  • How do I migrate my custom stamps from XI to DC? Where is the "stamps" folder in DC?

I have several vital custom stamps made for Acrobat XI (and previous versions). When upgrading thfough former versions, all I had to do was save the stamp files to the spamps folder and restart. Now, there's no hint of a stamps folder and nothing in the help file to provide guidance. Not even info as to whether earlier stamps can be used at all.

    Hey nils egilt10348323,
For Windows, you can simply go to "C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\11.0\Stamps
Copy this folder and paste it to "C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\Stamps" to use the customized stamps in Acrobat DC as well.
If you are on MAC, then you can locate AppData folder under "Go > Libarary > User Name" and then perform the same steps.
    Hope that helps.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

  • Custom Stamp Name Display in Acrobat X?

Our organization relies heavily on the usage of the Stamp tool, we have over 100 custom stamps created which enables us to be a paperless environment.  Here's the problem, in the new Acrobat X, Adobe removed the "names" of the custom stamps in the drop down.  So now you only see the stamp instead of the name.  We have some very large stamps, and some that are very similar but are used in completely different cases.  Does anyone know if it is possible to show the names of the custom stamps in Acrobat X?  This is such a huge deal to us, we won't be able to use any new versions of Acrobat unless this is possible!

Acrobat does not, or at least it didn't, execute doc level scripts in a
stamp file. So something else is needed.
SeattleUser, I the stampName needs to be specified at all, since the script
doesn't need to work for a specific stamp, but rather all stamps when not
being placed.  How about this code?
    event.target.hidden = event.source.forReal;

You not only need to create a custom stamp, but you need to add dymanic form fields. See AUC Tutorials - Dynamic Stamps for more information.

  • Adding Custom Stamps in Acrobat Reader X

I'm wondering how users of Acrobat Reader X can add their own custom stamps to documents. I create collateral for sales people across the U.S. who like to add their own contact information to the pieces. They were doing this by using the custom stamp feature that I enabled using Acrobat Pro 9. One of our sales folks decided to update his Acrobat to the newer version and it doesn't seem to have the same capabilities. I know there is a Signature tool, but that isn't quite the same. Can anyone help me figure this out? I'd appreciate it.
    Thanks.

  • Custom Stamp no longer worker in Acrobat X

I created a custom stamp using Adobe X; not sure it was working the way it was suppose to but it still met my needs.
I used a PDF form which I created using Word, added some form fields and saved it.
Added the PDF form file as a custom stamp.
Opened another PDF document and was able to insert the custom stamp.....and this is where I don't know if it really worked correctly or not.  The stamp was basically an image, none of the fields were accessible; I thought a PDF form would act like a dynamic stamp but it didn't work as I expected.
But if I opened the original PDF of the stamp and filled in the form fields & saved it and then inserted the custom stamp again, all the fields were updated/filled in.
But then for some reason my custom stamp disappeared from stamp pull down menu.  And now when I try to add it back it creates an anonymous PDF file with the current form fields filled in.  If I open the original PDF stamp and change any of the form fields and save it, the custom stamp doesn't update when I go and insert it again.
And if I delete that anonymous PDF file, my custom stamp again disappears from the stamp pull down menu.
This now happens with any PDF file I use to create a custom stamp; Acrobat X creates an anonymous PDF file.
If anyone has any idea how to fix this problem, it would be greatly appreciated.

Behavior for PDFs is not handled by SharePoint, but rather Adobe Acrobat. Validate Adobe Acrobat's PDF browser extension has been disabled (you can do this via IE and I believe Adobe Acrobat has this option within it's own Preferences).

  • Custom Stamp displays correct in reader but fails in acrobat

Our company has a rather old work ticket form which our technicians have been filling out on their laptops for years.  I believe it was originally created in lifecycle designer 6 but don't quote me on that.  The issue is that when the form is opened in any version of Adobe Reader, it displays correctly and the letter head with the company name and address is properly displayed at the top of the page. However when you open the same document in acrobat you can see that someone used a custom stamp to redo our address on this form when we moved several years ago and the stamp does not display correctly.
Additionally if a user edits the file in anyway with acrobat and saves it the improperly displayed letterhead becomes permanent and also shows up when trying to view that file from adobe reader.  Can anyone tell me whats going on and how to fix this issue?

That is a static XFA form and it appears as though something is wrong with the stamp. I recall someone reporting an issue with Acrobat 10 that can cause this sort of thing. I was able to open the file in Acrobat 9, delete the problematic stamp after unlocking it, and the correct one remained. If you're unable to do the same, I can send you the the file I fixed.
