How To Organize the Clips I Import?

I just started on a project that involves putting together an iMovie video from vacations that were shot over the past 25 years.  I have imported about three now and I'm now realizing that i no indication which year they were taken unless i go through the first few seconds and compare it to how ther were named in the finder.  This is tedius to say the least and I need a better way.  Is there a way to devide imported videos into years or labels?  Something?

Since posting this question I realized that the easiest and best way is to import in sub-folders and name it the year of the trip.  We can close this one down.

  • How to organize the import statements in FXML Files?

    Hello,
    I'm a user of NetBeans IDE and it can organize the import statements in *.java files. Now, I'm using JavaFX and editing the *.fxml files as well. I want to know how to organize the import statements in *.fxml files?
    Thanks a lot.

    You should use Scene Builder, it will make all these import statements for you.
    Moreover, it will greatly simplify the writing of your FXML files, since you only have to Drag&Drop JavaFX objects on the scene. Then, it automatically generates FXML files.

  • How to organize the content of MANIFEST.MF

    Most of the jar files contain a file named META-INF/MANIFEST.MF, and it provides some information about the class in the jar files, but when I execute the code below, I can't output all of the jar file name in the eclipse project's classpath.
    import java.net.URL;
    import java.util.Enumeration;
    public class TestClassLoader {
    public static void main(String args[]) throws Exception {
    Enumeration<URL> en = TestClassLoader.class.getClassLoader().getResources("META-INF");
    while (en.hasMoreElements()) {
    URL metaInf = en.nextElement();
    System.out.println(metaInf.toExternalForm());
    So I want to know how to organize the content of MANIFEST.MF file to output the file name

    getResources doesn't do what you apparently think it does. The resource path still has to be an exact match, but getResources allows for the possibility that the same resource path may occur multiple times on the class path.
    You could use it to access all the MANFEST.MF files on the classpath but you'd need to full resource path "META-INF/MANIFEST.MF"
    The code you've written doesn't access the contents of the manifests, of course. To access the contents of manifests use java.util.jar.Manifest objects.

    How to change the clip's duration under imovie 10.0.3?

    This is a new feature introduced in 10.0.3 which works fine for me.  The old way was to select Modify - Fast Forward.  You can only select certain speed ratios but a slider should appear near the top of the clip which allows finer speed adjustment.  have you tried this?

  • How to organize the intrument library?

    Hi,
    I moved all my JamPacks to an external HD, and everything works well, but do I manage instruments libraries?
    There are lots of similar folders for each jampack, do I have to manually organize all the files and create just one Instrument Library folder?
    Many thanks for your advises!
    Chester

    This question was posted a few months ago. I found it yesterday as I was looking for the same info. But after a talk with an Apple support person, and some experimentation, I figured some things out.
    My instrument folder was all in one place, but perhaps Chester's installer put some things in various places. Still, I think the following info may be useful.
    But before I start, I should mention that none of the following procedures are officially supported by Apple. So it's probably a good idea to make a back-up image of your drive(s) before you start doing this. That way if something gets messed up, you can restore it. Also, make sure GarageBand is NOT running while you do any of the re-arranging.
    As you may know, Apple's instruments are located here:
    SystemDrive/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library
    This entire folder can be moved, but the next time you launch GarageBand it will ask you to locate this folder.
    There are three folders inside that folder: Plug-in Settings, Sampler, and Track Settings. Inside the Sampler folder are two folders: Sampler Files, and Sampler Instruments. Sampler Files has folders each containing the actual samples (audio files) that are played by the instrument. The Sampler Instruments folder has the .exs files that contain the key-maps, settings, etc. that tell the sound generator how to play the samples. Meanwhile, back in the Track Settings folder is another folder called "Software" which has all of the category folders which contain the instruments (.cst files) that are listed in the GarageBand software track info list.
    If you want to delete Apple instruments, you can look at the folders inside the Sampler Files folder. Take for example the folder called: 12-string Acoustic Chords. You would then go to the Sampler Instruments folder and look for the .exs file that goes with it (in this case it is called "12-string Acoustic Chords.exs"), then look in the Track Settings/Software/CategoryFolder to find the "12-string Acoustic Chords.cst" file. You can then delete all three.
    IMPORTANT NOTE: These software instruments are used by some of the AppleLoops (the MIDI type). I haven't found out what happens when one of these loops can't find the instrument it needs to play it's loop. I believe it is the dependance between loops and software instruments that is why Apple does not support "managing" instruments-- even though the library can get quite large!
    Incidently, I have never found out where the MIDI type of Apple Loops are stored.
    Also, instruments that have been added by the user can just be deleted from within GB using the "Delete Instrument" button near the bottom of the info pane.
    To move instruments into different categories, just move the .cst files in the Track Settings/Category Folders from one category folder to another.
    Oh. Of course, make sure that GB is not running when you do your file moving/deleting, etc.
    It was helpful at one point to delete the GB preferences to reset some main library category things. But you may not need to do that.
    manage sampler instruments
    manage garageband instruments
    manage GB instruments
    delete garageband instruments

  • How to Organize the Website With Different Themes?

    This is a question about HOW TO ORGANIZE MY WEBSITE. This requires understanding of what PAGES means and what SITES means, and I am not too sure.
    Please clarify for me what iWeb means by a website. Specifically, I want to make a website which has several different mutually exclusive themes but which are all accessible from each page:
    Some pages dedicated to my husband, who passed away in 2000.
    Some pages for individual friends.
    Some pages for a group of about 10 people. I want a page for each person in the group.
    Would those all be considered a different website? A different site? Or are they all in ONE website with my one URL, but just all interconnected?
    — Lorna in Southern California

    Lorna,
    James' link didn't work because it is just an example
    Your URL will depend on where you upload your
    site.
    It sounds to me like you really want three separate
    sites. Why not do this - create FOUR sites. Make the
    TOP site just one page, and make text links to each
    of the top pages of the three other sites on that
    page. You could even add photos or graphics to
    represent each site and link to them.
    Here's an example: http://web.mac.com/varkgirl is my
    main .mac url and I have made my "top" site an index
    site with links to all other sites I have made.
    If you do this, visitors to yourdomain.com will reach
    this "table of contents" page which can take them to
    yourdomain.com/family or yourdomain.com/hobbies, etc
    etc. The your three separate sites can include all of
    their pages in the nav bar so when someone visits
    Site A or Site B they will see the links available to
    them.
    PS - it might be a good idea to put a text link or
    something at the bottom of each page in all sites to
    send visitors back to the main page (index page).
    Something like, "Click here to go back to Lorna's
    main page"
    Well, now this certainly would be another way of doing it! So my main URL would be the first Welcome — Table of Contents page, probably configured with photos and a phrase underneath? And then a viewer clicks onto Picture 1
    and gets transported to the top page of whatever that Picture 1 represents? And on that page 1, there are other sub-pages to click onto? So, Picture 1 might be "Hey, lookit the swim team!", and when people click onto that picture, a page comes up with about 5 hot links that take the viewer further down the road to (1) A group picture of the team with short bios under each photo, and then (2) a news report of the last swim meet that they won in Orlando, Florida, and then (3) an interview of the swim coach?
    Is that what you mean? Am I on the right track and reading you correctly?
    And at the bottom of each page (or somewhere noticeable), I woud put a "Go back to the Home Page" button?
    And within the swim team pages, at the top of the page there is a navigation bar that shows all the other pages in that site???
    Now, James suggested something different. (James Tseng) James said to make only ONE Mother Site and make separate Child Pages all equally sheltered under the Mother Site, but not all necessarily having links to all the other pages in the site.
    This is actually a good situation for me: to have two seemingly equally viable, legitimate, workable solutions to the issue of organizing my themes and pages within the website. Thank you. Hope the weather in Florida stays Flat Water.

  • Import Scenario from BPR - how to view the Version after import

    On SOLAR01 when you import scenarios from the BPR, how can you view the version of the Products that were imported? Sometimes in the BPR there are several versions available to import for a particular product.
    Once you have imported those business processes, how can you see the version that is tied to the one you imported?

    Helmut,
    If you don't have access to the server console, it might be possible to 'trick' tp into working from a workstation, but I wouldn't bet on it. You'd have to fake up a profile for it. I haven't tried this.
    Peering into the contents of a delivered transport file would be something that your Basis team would typically do. My suggestion is to work with them, either to use tp command-line option from the server console, or if that's not reasonable, then yes, go ahead and add it to the import queue of one of your sandbox systems. You can always delete it from the queue again later. If you don't actually import it, it isn't going to hurt anything.
    To do any of these options is going to require some level of filesystem access to your transport host, as you need to copy the two files that make up the transport there. You need to put the 'K' file into \usr\sap\trans\cofiles and the 'R' file into \usr\sap\trans\data. Then, you can either use the tp command-line tool, or you can go into STMS, go into the import queue of any system in the transport domain (so a sandbox is fine), and use Extras... Other Requests... Add and type in the transport request ID. Yes, this adds some entries about the transport into a few tables, but it doesn't actually import the transport, and it doesn't change anything about your system. It just allows the transport to show up as importable in the queue, and that will make it so that you can read the object list of the transport. Then, if you decide not to import it, you can delete it from the queue, and your system is back to the way it was before. Also, doing this will not put the transport into any other system's queue. Even if you import the transport (into a sandbox system), it won't show up in any other system's queue until you forward it.
    Regards,
    Matt

  • How can I recover clips recently imported?

    I just imported clips from my Sony handycam in iMovies (version 10.0.6 on Yosemite 10.10.1).
    Once the import was completed, I deleted the clips from the handycam.
    I started working on a project with the clips imported but iMovie crashed.  None of the recently imported clips were in iMovie when it restarted.
    Where could they be?
    I tried restarting the computer but still can't find them.
    Thanks for helping

    It's gone. There was no way it could have backed up to iCloud and you didn't backup to iTunes so there is no way to recover it now.

  • How to organize the context object through out the application process

    Hi,
    Here in my application is using the following steps for a process.
    - Login
    - Search
    - Update
    - Logout
    In those above steps, Login, Search, and Update actions are touching to database/LDAP every time. In each time, Im creating new Context object, I think this is a bad approach. When I hit the login, I need to get the connection object and use that for rest of the actions(search and update).
    So can we organize the single context object through out the application? And where do we need to close the Context object?

    Don't worry about it. The provider will reuse connections behind the scenes. They're not tied directly to Contexts.

  • How to organize the orders of audio files in ipod?

    Hey guys, I'm having a problem in organizing the audio files on my ipod, I wish you could help me out. I transferred some language lessons to my ipod, however they are not in order. If they are just songs it's OK, but for language lessons you really want them to be in order. Anybody can teach me how to arrange the order of audio files on ipod? Thanks a lot!
    ipod video 30GB

    Thanks for the reply, Chris. Are you talking about how to change the file name on itune or on ipod? I couldn't find the way to edit any info of the audio files on itune. And the file names were already in order (i.e. French001,French002...) but they appear on itune & ipod in different order.
    Thanks again.

  • How to organize the iPhoto when it gets too big?

    Hi, I have iPhoto library about 300GB which consumes most of my iMac space.
    Would you please suggest the best way to organize the library?
    I have been thinking to put the library on external device but worried about slow speed when iPhoto is opened.
    I have been thinking to split the library but cannot open the libraries at the same time...
    Any suggestions?
    My iMac is 24inch early 2009, ML 10.8.1., 2.66 GHz, 4GB memory, 650GB HDD
    Thanks.

    Well that depends on you
    first off you do not mention a backup system - that would be your first priority if you do not have one - without a good gackup you will lose all of you photos (and other file) sooner or later
    My suggestion is to get a bigger hard drive
    less good is to run iPhoto on an EHD with a fast connection (thunderbolt - firewire - USB2 or 3)
    Splitting the library has many disadvantages - you can put the entire library on an EHD and have a second smaller library of current or more interesting photos on the main drive and use iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ -  to move new photos to the full library on the EHD so it stays current
    You also can just delete poor and lower quality photos (with that many you must have some - I do ) - it is pretty fast to rate photos 1 to 5 stars and then delete the 1 star photos

  • How to cut the clips in Timeline ?

    I have placed a clip into the Timeline. I have keyframed on the 2nd last frame instead of the last frame.
    So, I double-click the clip on the timeline & placed the playhead on the 2nd last frame on the clip (in the timeline). Then I use the blade tool. I wanted to cut away the clip at the 2nd last frame.
    When I placed the blade onto the playhead & click, the clip doesn't seem to be cut. Instead, vertical lines appear on the clip (placed on the timeline) instead.
    Any tips on cutting clips using the blade tool ?
    Thanks

    skalicki` wrote:
    I still don't know about these vertical lines that are appearing, but try this process:
    1. Select the clip in the timeline.
    2. Place a marker on the selected clip's second-to-last frame using the "M" key.
    3. Zoom way in on the clip in the timeline using the zoom slider in the lower left.
    4. Select the ripple tool from the tool palette (rr)
    5. Drag the right side of the clip until it snaps to the marker.
    P.S. the blade tool is used in the timeline, not the viewer. You could start after step 3 and use the blade tool instead of the ripple tool to make the cut on the marker if you wanted.

    Thanks David & Skalicki.
    Yes my mistake was to open it in the viewer.
    I have figured out what the vertical lines are. It was because I keep on clicking the blade tool. The vertical lines are fragments of the clips that I cut. I expand the timeline, select the fragmented clips then do a delete and it is gone !!
    Problem solved.
    Thank you.
