How to organize the sample color grid in the Color box?

Do you have any tips/tricks to keep the small squares of color in the Color menu organized? These are the color samples that you pull from the color bar at the top of the box and that you drag onto the grid for future reference. I have been willy nilly dragging squares of color onto that grid and it works fine for short term work but I cannot remember what square was for what if I have left that page and need to return to fix or change something. The only thing I can think of is to make a paper graph and notate on that hardcopy.
One thing that I have been doing is, for colors that are hard to distinguish, I load the tiny squares onto FOUR grid squares to make one bigger square of the sample color.
But..... does anyone have another way?

When working on an individual song, I can't access the sampler. I get the message "nothing to display" or "no region or audio file selected" After much research on the web, I believe this is a permanent bug. Does anyone have a good work-around for this type of work. We record live 16T band rehearsals constantly and would love to be able to break individual songs out of the large file and be able to use the sampler. Thanks in advance for your ideas! Cheers.

Another thing - if I copy one of the tracks to another track, then the sample editor works on the copied track. I don't want to have to copy 16 tracks to new tracks to be able to use the sample editor on a project. Thanks again.

How to display Base values (AFS Grid) in the Report

Hi Friends,
We ar using AFS, in that we have Grid value like 0003A34
(8 chars: first 4 chars colour (0003), A represents Cup, 34 represents size of the Material), in that we can able to store the Base values like for International or US,
and for size 34 equivalent to 70 like wise.
In our reports we are using ALV grids, and showing the existing grid value like 0003A34, but we need to show Base value list like INTL or US etc, based on the region / area, the report should show the equivalent grid value like 0003A70 etc.
Please help me how to do this.

Dear Shankar;
I think you will be able to achieve what you try to do using grid conversion in AFS. Base Grid values can be converted to other values based on the customer, vendor or material depending on your requirement. This need to be configured in IMG and then the ID must be assigned in the Vendor or the Material Master as per the requirement.

How to delete the host on GRID after the target agent alreary been removed

I already uninstalled the agent on the target host, the server still show on the GRID and show agent is not recheable, what do I need to do in order to delete from the GRID once I delete the agent.

Error in accessing the sample application content from the OBIEE 11g

I installed OBIEE 11g + Oracle 11g database on one machine. Everything went smoothly with no issues.
I can connection to the database from SQLPLUS.
Then I followed instructions to deploy sample app. After everything is done, when I try to access the dashboards, reports etc from the OBIEE 11g home page , I get the error below.
I am stuc kand dont know how to proceed. I verified tnsnames.ora and everything seems good.
In the SampleAPp.RPD, I set DB_SID as "ORCL" and DB_HOST as my computer name (along with domain name). No idea how to proceed from here..
I really appreciate any help.

1) Was the oracle installed in multiple instances ? if yes set the Variable path correctly pointing to your right folder
Yes, oracle had multiple instances. I tried copying the tnsnames.ora from my oracle home to the Oracle_BI1/network/admin directory as 11g apparetnly comes with a Oracle client as BIFACTs suggested in his/her reply. I put the same in the path variable
2) Try to ping the service_name tnsping service_name(SID) from command prompt
This works.
3) check whether you may have "white spaces" in tnsnames.ora file at starting of entry
No white spaces appeated
I still see the same issue! I logged in as developer credentials as mentioned the sample app documentation.
I get the same "cannot connect to database" error.
I once in a while see an issue with javahost not starting. Not sure what is the impact of javahsot not running and all the other managed processes running.
Please help....

Finding the Sample Library File and the Wyoming Folder

I had a 30 day trial and purchased the activation code (not the DVD). The "Exploring Aperture" tutorial mentions getting the Sample Library File and Wyoming Folder from the installation disk. Since I don't have an installation disk, does anyone know where I can get the Sample Library File and Wyoming Folder?

Is the sample rate half with the snd read waveform.vi?

Hi Guys,
I plan to use the PC soundcard for data acquiring with the standard LV "snd read waveform" vi. During programming I found that the sample rate is the half of the adjusted value. For example when I set
- the format to 8bit mono
- the buffer size to 11025 byte
- and the sample rate to 11025
then the operation takes 2000ms. I would expect 1sec.
Used system: LV7.0, WinXP SP2.
Does anybody know the reason? I have to use 44100Hz sample rate (44100 "individual" sample per secundum) in my application.

To be more precise, that's the time take for the below mentioned finite cycle
SI config>> SI start>> SI read >> SI clear.
Its this 'entire' process which takes 1997 milli Sec
Now, what you really have to check is wheather your 'SI read' function is living up to the sampling rate you have set!
Check that by putting your 'time elapsed' check for SI Read function alone!

How to organize 100+ sample applications in FB

I am building up a library of simple (about 50-100 lines
each) sample mxml applications.
Currently I have about 50 in one project and this causes the
"building workspace" process to be very slow, and often crashes FB
with memory errors.
How would you organize this under FB? I may have hundreds
some day.
Are there any FB settings that would help?

How can i validate on ALV grid for the user

Dear Freinds,
I have developed one custom report using ALV Grid program , as per the requirement i have to enter on the
data and when i press the value save the program sumits the data into my custom table . Till here every thing is fine
but one particular field i have declared as Char1 in my internal table , on the ALV output it is allowing me to enter
more than one character eg : it is allowing me to enter as Hyderabad .........even though i have declared as char 1 in the internal table ....however it is saving in the database table as H only that is correct.......but it is giving confusion to user
i want to validate that user shouldnt allow to enter more than one character in the alv output of the input field .
Please could any one let me know how can i validate.

might be that filed lenth in final internal table declartion is more than 1 char.

TS1717 When I try to play songs from my collection on my laptop or try to play the samples of music from the itunes store on my laptop, the music never plays; It is on the playlist selection and appears as if its in the play status but no music actually p

I have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes to no avail...
I have authorized my laptop...
I have downloaded the 64bit itunes for windows.
The sound on my laptop is functioning for other applications such as youtube, crackle...
Has anyone else experienced and found solutions to similar issues?

How to organize the intrument library?

Hi,
I moved all my JamPacks to an external HD, and everything works well, but do I manage instruments libraries?
There are lots of similar folders for each jampack, do I have to manually organize all the files and create just one Instrument Library folder?

This question was posted a few months ago. I found it yesterday as I was looking for the same info. But after a talk with an Apple support person, and some experimentation, I figured some things out.
My instrument folder was all in one place, but perhaps Chester's installer put some things in various places. Still, I think the following info may be useful.
But before I start, I should mention that none of the following procedures are officially supported by Apple. So it's probably a good idea to make a back-up image of your drive(s) before you start doing this. That way if something gets messed up, you can restore it. Also, make sure GarageBand is NOT running while you do any of the re-arranging.
As you may know, Apple's instruments are located here:
SystemDrive/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library
This entire folder can be moved, but the next time you launch GarageBand it will ask you to locate this folder.
There are three folders inside that folder: Plug-in Settings, Sampler, and Track Settings. Inside the Sampler folder are two folders: Sampler Files, and Sampler Instruments. Sampler Files has folders each containing the actual samples (audio files) that are played by the instrument. The Sampler Instruments folder has the .exs files that contain the key-maps, settings, etc. that tell the sound generator how to play the samples. Meanwhile, back in the Track Settings folder is another folder called "Software" which has all of the category folders which contain the instruments (.cst files) that are listed in the GarageBand software track info list.
If you want to delete Apple instruments, you can look at the folders inside the Sampler Files folder. Take for example the folder called: 12-string Acoustic Chords. You would then go to the Sampler Instruments folder and look for the .exs file that goes with it (in this case it is called "12-string Acoustic Chords.exs"), then look in the Track Settings/Software/CategoryFolder to find the "12-string Acoustic Chords.cst" file. You can then delete all three.
IMPORTANT NOTE: These software instruments are used by some of the AppleLoops (the MIDI type). I haven't found out what happens when one of these loops can't find the instrument it needs to play it's loop. I believe it is the dependance between loops and software instruments that is why Apple does not support "managing" instruments-- even though the library can get quite large!
Incidently, I have never found out where the MIDI type of Apple Loops are stored.
Also, instruments that have been added by the user can just be deleted from within GB using the "Delete Instrument" button near the bottom of the info pane.
To move instruments into different categories, just move the .cst files in the Track Settings/Category Folders from one category folder to another.
Oh. Of course, make sure that GB is not running when you do your file moving/deleting, etc.
It was helpful at one point to delete the GB preferences to reset some main library category things. But you may not need to do that.

The following is written in the Administration guide:
If you did not install the sample files, you can obtain them by reinstalling Financial Management
and selecting the Sample Applications component.
I cannot find the “Sample Applications component” among components during installation process.
There are only “Financial Management ADM driver”, “Financial Management Web Application” and “Financial Management: services”.

I purchased Aperture 3 about a year ago. I hardly use it because it is so slow. If I uninstall the sample library, will that help the processing speed to edit pictures? If so, how do I uninstall just the sample library?

Aperture is a hardware hog. Unfortunately your iMac has a weak processing unit and relatively weak graphics, both of which are important for Aperture performance. Your iMac will never run Aperture particularly well; it may or may not be adequate for your needs.
I ran Aperture with weak hardware (2.33 GHz Core 2 Duo 2006 Macbook Pro, 3 GB RAM) for years. It was tolerable because I also used a Mac Pro for heavy editing work. With weak hardware we need to optimize everywhere we can. I suggest:
• Do not bother running Aperture until you add RAM.
• Before each Aperture session restart the Mac to clear possible memory leaks, and run only Aperture by itself unless you have 6 GB or more RAM on board.
• Drives slow as they fill so verify that all hard drives are no more than approximately 70% full as a guideline. Even less full is better.
• Keep the Library size reasonable by using a referenced-Masters workflow with Masters on external drives. Back up originals before import into Aperture or any other images app.

How to get the sample repository data of over 6000 records for products

I have MDM installed and ready to use with the standard 9 repositories provided by SAP. I was wondering if I can get the unarchive .a2a file with the sample data of records (I think over 6000 records) for the Products repository. I have tried to bring in the two .a2a product files that I have, but it was giving version inconsistent errors. How do and where do I get the real sample data (not the one we can create in data manager) correct version provided by SAP, so that I can get my hands on SAP data manager funtionality.

Hi Navin,
Business Content archives that are provided by SAP for MDM do not come with the sample data.
In the bsuiness content ,if you unzip the file you will see the a2a archive of the rep as provided by SAP and the import /export maps and the lookup data file.
There is no main records that SAP provide with the sap content it is basically the data modell that SAP provides so that the foundation is set for you and you can now import and work with the data.
However if you wish to use the demo repository or the training rep from Inquera then you will same some sample data already loaded in MDM rep to work upon.
Regarding the version problem
Check the MDM version of the business content rep with the MDM server you are using .They have to match to work correctly.
You can work with a lower archives of the rep(say SP04) with an Upgraded MDM server (say SP06) by using the Update Repository option in the context menu of the MDM server in Console.
But the vice versa is not possible.
Check you MDM server version by clicking on the MDM server and see its details in the right side record detail pane.
