How to output a digital signal on negative slope of the clock?

Hi
I need to output a finite length of the digital pulse which will start on demand at the negative slope of the imported (or exported) clock.
I am trying to get the clock exported or imported, but in no case I can trigger outputting the signal on the negative slope.
What is the trick?
thanks

Go to Solution.

Which device are you using to generate your digital signal.  What is the clock source?  Can you attach your vi?  Normally, there is a DAQ function to configure the trigger where you choose the trigger source and the trigger slope (rising or falling), which would be falling for a negative slope.

  • How to input/output a digital signal and acquire an analog signal at the same time?

    Dasylab, version: 8.0.04
    Acquirement Card: PCI1002L
When I use DasyLab to acquire the analog signals is no problem without digital inputs and outputs,
and when I use DasyLab to input or output a digital signal is no problem also, but when I do that at the
same time, DasyLab tell me the rate is too high and stop.
so, I searched the manual book1 (user guide) for that, it showed me :
To internally equalize measurement time and system time in the analog input, digital input and counter
hardware modules, use the following settings:
       Synchronization: PC Clock
       Sampling rate: <= 5Hz
       Block size: =1
the problem is, if I set the Sampling rate to 5Hz, the speed of the acquirement datas is not enough for my
    application.
so, how to improve it? who can give me a example programm for me. thanks!
by the way, I come from China, my English isn't good, I'm sorry.

    Hi,
Have things changed over the years?
I need to syncronise a digital output (Modul NI9474) and an analoge input (AI-Modul NI9203) module. I need to measure time intervals from a flank in signal A to a flank in signal B. I would like accuracies of the order of 1 ms. Currently, the signals are not synchronised, with errors of the order of 2 times the block length (block size x sample rate), sometimes much higher. The best I got so far was a block size of around 20 with a sample rate of 1 kHz.
If I use the master and slave settings on the RTSL settings, my program doesn't run properly.
If I use digital signals for input and output, I can syncronise them with RTSL settings and everything is good, but I can't always do that.
Also, if I do anything in the GUI (such as scrollowing something or going to another window), my output gets screwed up properly.
    1. What can be done to synchronise AI with DO?
    2. Is there something that can be done to avoid messing up the output when something happens in the user interface? (I know that I am messing up the outputs as they make some valves switch and that is loud).
    Thanks in advance!

  • Can airport express output a digital signal to feed a separate audio DAC?

Can airport express output a digital signal to feed a separate audio DAC?

Yes. To access the digital output from the AirPort Express Base Station's (AX) audio port, you will need to connect a mini-TOSlink digital optical cable.

  • How to output a TTL signal from a sine wave [Please Help]?

    Hi evryone!
    I am a bit lost...
We make the acquisition of voltage (sine wave, 3Hz) which I simulated by a waveform generation in my VI. We want to convert this analog signal to a TTL and output it with a multifunction DAQ (6230).
I only used Analog to Digital.vi and DAQmx write.vi and I can't get it to work... I get a TTL which is not 3Hz and only If I input a frequency like 3.07 and not 3.00 !!
    Did I forget something ?
    Thanks for helping

In your vi, you don't have DAQmx Timing setup.  I don't know what the default value is.  But the timing determines how fast the DAQ will output values.  If not set correctly, you may see slight change in the output frequency.  Another thing is that the timing is based on a master clock, like 50MHz.  The clock gets divided down until it gets near the desired setting.  So it may not be able to achieve 3KHz exactly.  If you are getting 3.07KHz, this may be why.  I don't know if there is anything you can do about it.  Try using the timing vi and setting different sample rates.

  • How to check 6 digital signals change value at the same time with PCI-6229??

I am using DAQ card PCI-6229.
Channel 1 generate a digital signal.
    Channel 2,3,4,5,6,7 acquire digital signals.
    I want to check:
    1. Whether the rising edge of Channel 2,3,4,5,6,7 occures at the same time;
    2. The time delay from the rising edge of Channel 1 to the rising edge of Channel 2,3,4,5,6,7 is within a certain range.
I know I can use counter to get the two edge seperation time delay. But I only have two counter, it is two time-consuming if I check one by one.
I don't know how to check the rising edge of 6 different channels occure at the same time.
    Does anyone has any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Hello,
You can use the DAQ card's digital input change detection circuitry to detect changes in the input, you can then use a counter to measure the relative time between samples. Please read Page 6-9 DI Change Detection Applications for more information. Let me know if this helps

  • How can i detect digital signal transitions?

    Hi,
I have to monitor several digital signals and i'm not interested in the signals themeseves, but in their transitions because those represents important events in my problem.
I have an E series daq card, so i think that the only way i can do this using digital inputs, is by polling.
My problem is that i cannot loose any transition and i need an accuracy of about 10-20 ms to accomplish this.
Do you think that's possible using polling?
Can i use my daq analog inputs(because in this case my daq card support buffering) instead and try to detect transitions?
    Thank you in advance,
    Luca Tascedda

I believe the state detection is event-driven. You might take a closer look at the manual for the 6533 (available on-line) and at the example in our developer zone. You can query for
"Change Detection with Time Stamping" or follow this link.

Alternatively, you can use the analog trigger, though I think this works with just one analog channel at a time.
    Good Luck.

  • How do you fix Clipped Signals in Soundtrack Pro in the Waveform Window

In "Analysis", under "Analysis Type", I checked (only) the Clipped Signal box and clicked on the "Analyze" button. STP found numerous clipped signals. However, selecting either one or all on the list, the "Fix" and "Fix All" buttons remain grayed out. How do I fix these?

Far as I know, this feature just finds the clipped

. except to avoid them in the first place.

  • Pxi-4071 aux I/O how to output a control signal?

HI, I am working on Pxi-4071 dmm card. I want to use aux I/O to out put a control signal for a relay on/off. Technically, I want to know how to do it with labview. Is any examples to start?
    Thanks
    Liming

    Hello Liming,
The DMM is capable of sending TTL triggers out on both the PXI_Trig lines and on the AUX connector on the front connection.  These signals are intended for controlling National Instruments switch modules and not powering/closing third party relays.
If you're looking to control a National Instruments Switch there are example programs that demonstrate synchronous scanning with DMMs and Switches.  To locate these examples open LabVIEW and go to Help» Find Exampled...  Then Navigate to Hardware Input and Output» Modular Instruments» NI-Switch (Switches).
If this isn't what you're looking to do, or if you have additional questions, please feel free to post back with more information.
    Have a great weekend!

    Hello Imran,
the USB-1208LS is not capable of running concurrent operations such as an analog input scan and ANY digital Ins, Outs, counter reads, or analog outs.  In Dasylab, the 1208LS is scanning, and nothing else from that particular device can be requested of it while that is happening.
Yes, using the 1208FS will resolve some of these issues.
Please refer to the ULHELP.CHM file installed on your computer in c:\program files\measurement computing\daq for details on this issue, et al.
also I recommend you send your MCC/DASYLab requests for support to [email protected] as MCC staff (that includes me) does not normally monitor NI's Developer Zone.

  • How to output a file showing visible time code from the source tape

Can someone tell me which settings to use to output a file that has a visible time code readout from the source tape.  I shot an interview and now I want to make a video file for a transcriber so they can include the time code reference numbers from the source video on the written transcript.  Also, does the file need to be output from the timeline, or can this be done directly from a clip in the project.
    Thanks.
    Specs:
    PC with Windows Vista
    Premier Pro CS4

    Hi,
You could try maybe selecting all your clips on the timeline and drag the "timecode" video effect onto it ( type the word timecode at the top of effect panel on left to find it fast )...
Then you can change it from smpte if you want -----to source or media ...something like that...or to 'generate'...use what you like best..
you can also change the codes position in the clip...

  • How to minimize program's window to system tray [near the clock on windows]

    ???

If you really mean the system tray (near the clock in Windows as you say), that's not an area to which windows are ever minimized as far as I know. It's an area with launcher/status icons.
Since you talked about minimizing a program window, I assume you meant to say the TaskBar (at the bottom middle of the Windows screen, between the Start Menu and QuickLaunch buttons on the left and the system tray on the right).
setState(Frame.ICONIFIED) will minimize (=iconify) any Frame (or subclass) into an icon in the TaskBar at the bottom of the screen. And setState(Frame.NORMAL) will bring it back. It's right there in the API; see http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/api/java/awt/Frame.html#setState(int)

  • Is scxi 1124 capable to output digital signal?

Can I use SCXI 1125 to output a digital signal? How?
    Thanks

The SCXI-1124/1125 are strictly analog modules. However, you can still access the unused DIO lines on your DAQ device with the SCXI-1180 feedthrough panel. See Knowledge Base 0YB9LSTA for more information.

  • How to Output Digital Audio to Male Mini USB Connector?

I would like to input digital audio from my iPhone 5 to my headphone DAC/amplifier. The latter has a mini USB female connector for digital signal input. I envisage the following options, listed in the order of preference:
    1. A cable with a male Lightning connector to a male Mini USB connector. This would be the most elegant solution but does such a cable exist?
    2. Apple Lighting to female Micro USB adapter plus a male Micro USB to male Mini USB cable. Does this pass audio?
    3. Apple Lightning to male USB connector (the cable which came with the phone) plus a female USB to male Mini USB connector. This should work technically because the Apple stock cable does output audio from the phone to my car audio system.
    4. Any other ideas?
Which of the above options would be best to send digital audio from my iPhone 5 to my headphone DAC/amplifier? Thank you.

I believe you are not correct. You likely have not read my question entirely because I said that:
"This should work technically because Apple stock cable does output audio from the phone to my car audio system".
In other words, I connect my iPhone 5 using the supplied Lightning charging cable to the USB input of the car audio system and the music plays just fine.
However, I need a cable that has a Mini USB male connector, not a regular USB connector. Is there such a thing, or should I go with Options 2 or 3?
    Thanks.

  • Digital signal to oscilloscope?

    Hello,
I am trying to create a digital signal and view it with the oscilloscope. I have started with an analog one, converted it with DWDT Analog to Digital and when I am trying to connect it with the oscilloscope (DAQ Assistant) via the NI PXIe-6363 card and SCB-68A connector, I have the following error:

You're simulating an analog signal and the DAQ Assistant is configured to output a digital signal.
To create a digital waveform, look for an example or checkout functions available in 'Digital Waveform VIs and Functions' sub-palette.
Or you can also think of spending some money on buying 'NI Digital Waveform Editor'.
