Hello, I want to overclock my PC for better Graphics while playing games ..
Firstly I need to know is it safe to overclock a PC ?
what are the things involved in it ??
Kindly provide me a guide how to over clock my board
It is 'extremely' important to follow xmad's request for more information about your complete system.
Question #1, yes, it is 'reasonably' safe if guidelines & adherence to voltage and temperature limits are heeded.
Question #2, of primary importance is having hardware that 'is' OC'able to begin with. In addition to the hardware, it is normally just a matter of setting up the correct settings in the UEFI/BIOS. You will need some utilities such as CPU-Z, H/W Monitor, etc. Also, a digital multimeter is highly recommended.
Question #3, there are some 'basics', but every system is different and reacts different to tweaks and adjustments. When we know your components, it will make it easier to make suggestions and recommendations.

  • How damaging is it to over clock a device

How damaging is it to over clock a device? I know over clocking is damaging. But is it the extra heat produced, or trying to use the capacitors to fast or something technical. If it is only heat, I can keep my MSI VGA card cool enough to over clock it.
Does a chip start to become damaged or work less effeciantly if you raise the temperature. The card may work better at 5 degrees more temperatur, but does this damage it, or is there a certian temperature range. (I'm guessing temperature damages it only)
I also thought most comanies disapproved of over clocking. Why does MSI seem to encourage it? Is this a bad or good thing?

Why not have the best video card for an extra 6months until the next best one comes out.  Or run new games on an older video card.  That's what makes it worth the effort and the small amount of risk.
If the overclocking/mod is done by someone who has a clue, and the reason to do so is to provide functionality to play games that require a higher frame rate or performance then one could say it may be justified. If one is not experienced in these areas and/or saved forever to obtain a card, overclocking may not be in the best interest to the user. Part of the problem is often many users lack the judgement or are driven to beat the latest benchmarks and end up with a keychain in the process. I can see overclocking towards the end of the lifespan of a high end card, but with todays latest and greatest..I don't see the point.
Heat is the determining factor and the killer to all components, not just higher voltage wich I believe increases heat. Heat causes faster deterioration and shortens the life of any component on a molecular level.

  • U400 has over clocked itself to max turbo boost at all times.

    Hi all,
    I have a U400 099329U with processor i5 2430M @ 2.4 GHz with turbo boost up to 3.0GHz.
Recently I noticed the unit getting quite hot with very slow charge times/high power drain on battery and noticed the Intel turbo boost monitor was always at the maximum of 3.0 GHz and would never drop. I lowered the max processor state to 99% in power management, now it stays at 2.4GHz with no turbo boost or energy saver modes. I have also returned the system to initial state and the problem still persists.
Any ideas as to why it started over clocking itself in the first place and how do I get things back to normal?
    Any help would be appreciated!

    Anyone?

  • How to over write VBBE data when Delivery is created if at the time of SO creation stock blocking is there

    Hi,
I want to know how to over write VBBE data after delivery creation if stock blocking is there at the time of SO creation.
That means I want my confirmed delivery quantity to over write the SO quantity in VBBE table after delivery creation. Please help me with your valuable suggestions...
    Thanks
    Tanmoy

    Hi Tanmoy,
This should happen automatically. The VBBE entry should reflect the quantity of the delivery requirement. Is it possible for you to post screenshots illustrating exactly what is happening on your system?

Back up and restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iCloud or iTunes - Apple Support
Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or Windows PC - Apple Support
As for songs that are on your iPhone, those cannot be copied from the device to another location.

If you have American Express, your 4-digit security code is on the front. If you have VISA or MasterCard, your 3-digit security code is outside the signature block on the back of your credit card. It happens to me also.

  • How to over-write iCal data with iPhone calendar data?

As of tonight, my iPhone 4's calendar will not merge to my iMac.  The Mac with push to the phone, but not the other way around.  I know for a fact that the "correct" calendar is the one on the iPhone (lucky this week I know that!), so I'd like a way to over-write the computer version with the iPhone.
    So, problems to solve:
    (1) Tell me how to reset the sync history in the newest version of iTunes
    OR
    (2) Tell me how to over-write data as described above (and pray it works the next time bi-directionally)
    OR
    (3) Point me to a fix for the original non-sync problem that I haven't discovered yet.
Your help is GREATLY appreciated as I've spent WAY more time on this than intended already.  1 minute sync --> 4 hour issue.
    Thanks!
[iPhone 4 with 5.1 and Calendar; iMac with 10.6.8 and iCal 4.0.4]

    Greetings,
    Basics:
Turn iPhone and computer off and on and try again.
Ensure date and time on iPhone and computer are the same and try again.
    More troubleshooting:
    1.) Backup all your data:
    Backup your iPhone: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
    Backup your computer Addressbook: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=AddressBook/4.0/en/ad961.html
    Backup your computer iCal: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2966
2.) Reset the computer's sync services and then restart the computer: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627
3.) Plug in the iPhone and attempt a sync.
If that does not resolve the issue let me know and I'll give you a different route.
    Hope that helps.

I don't know where the chipset has been manufactured (or who actually made the chips), but there's no reason to believe it'd be overclocked (rather, the usual thing to do to preserve battery life is to run the processors at lower clock speeds than what the hardware is really capable of).
In addition, there's no practical way to replace individual chips on phone circuit boards. You'd need the whole board replaced.

  • Over clocking an amd 2100XP

I’m just wondering if anyone out there has had any success over clocking an amd 2100XP tbird?

I have built a few systems with the Tbred B core, and all will overclock to 2.2ghz at default Voltage. The MSI board is the best, and make sure you get a TBred B revision of the 2100. Last time I checked http://www.newegg.com had it for $87 or so. Pretty dirt cheap if you ask me, considering you are basically buying a 2700+ or 2800+ for ~$90. I am running mine at [email protected] (166x13) and it's rock solid now. Like the previous post stated, make sure you have good memory, I'd recommend Muskin. Your PSU has to be good as well...and a good heat sink/fan combo. the SLK800 I think is pretty good.

  • Over clocking using core center

    over clocking using core center
ok rather a noob at this and thought I would try a safer way of overclocking.
The program ticked away up til 300mhz on the left hand monitor at which point I turned it off as a 50% increase in the FSB seemed rather too much.
Has anyne used this prog or can point me to any documents about what it does!

    thanks for the info.
the page below.... seems to show that you can over clock from core center on the desk top   do I have to change bios setting to manua to alow it to work or is the review a bit
