How to overlap datagrid colums line with item renderer
Hello guys I been stuck for a few days now and I'm wondering if there is a better way to do this.
I put an item renderer on a column of the datagrid. The renderer basically expands the column height and shows some controls.
Im using a border container as the container that is holding the items in the grid. However what I would like to do is make the border container as big as the grid with a plus sign button. and then basically hide that rows vertical grid lines.
i tried setting the depth eventhought i understant this is not a spark grid i though it should work but it does not. Any tip or direction would be greatly appreciated.

ok i answered my own question. what i need to do is use the advance datagrid. Then set these properties.

If I have 2 fields on a line (this is now a hypothetical example and nothing to do with my actual report)….let’s call them field A and field B. And if field A has values of all ‘X’ and field B has values of all ‘Y’…then….the normal case would be (ignore dots – only for spacing):

But what if A is too long? I would want to see B wrap onto the next line like this:

And similarly….if B is extra long, can the line print as:

I don’t want the case where B is long and I get:

I can see how you can wrap an individual field like that…but how can you WRAP a line of[b] fields within the frame so it wraps to the BEGINNING of the frame on next line?
My SPECIFIC CASE
I have a report that I have stripped down to a simple structure for the purposes of this explanation.
My DATA MODEL has the main QUERY (for plant family and species data). The columns of the query are divided into 2 groups. The 1st GROUP contains the family data. Below that is the rest of the species data in a 2nd GROUP.
Linking from the 2nd species group (above) is a new QUERY to extract REGION data based on the common key field. Under this 2nd query is another group with all the REGION columns.
The LAYOUT MODEL has a group frame (the main , base one)
On top of this is a repeating frame based on the 1st group (family data).
On top of this is another repeating frame for the 2nd group (species data).
On top of this is 2 Frames on the same line line. The 1st frame contains columns from the species group .
The 2nd frame on this line is a repeating frame. The PRINT DIRECTION for this frame is ACROSS/DOWN. It repeats details of the REGION where the species is found. These columns come from this group come from the REGION QUERY and GROUP.
All fields on the report line have variable horizontal elasticity.
The problem is that when there is too much data on the line, it does NOT WRAP to the 2nd line.. It TRUNCATES.
Can the line be made to WRAP????..
In my current report, 1 of 2 things is happening:
1) All fields print on the line until it hits the page boundary and then it just stops. Truncated!
2) All fields print on the current line, then Oracle Reports throws a new page to print the REMAINDER of the long, input line
But I would like a LONG line to continue printing onto the following line of the same page.
I have tried all combinations of the elasticity fields and the ‘ADVANCED LAYOUT’ properties.
I have been focussing my attention with this problem on the frames .
We are using REPORT BUILDER V 6.0.8.26.0

I've done as you suggested....I have a long text boilerplate item - the only 1 on the line...and it has all the column in it.
So it looks like:
&col1 &col2 &col3 &col4 &col5 etc etc etc
And the line expands nicely to each field's requirements.
And when it gets to the right page boundary...it WRAPS to the next line! Beautiful!!!
The only thing is that...when I had individual fields across the line I was able to create format triggers for those fields. And in doing so I was able to reduce the font and change the justification. I had to do that because some of the fields had to appear superscripted.
So I wanted something like (ignore the dots):
...................................ppppp
AAAA BBBB CCCCC DDDD EEEE FFFFFF
So the field of 'ppppp' appeared slightly higher on the line than the other fields...
I can't see how I can do this with a single TEXT field containing all the &COL values.
Have you ever come across anything like this?

Are the lines in a text file? A RichTextBox? A TextBox? Some other control? A List(Of String)?

But the main mxml which has the DataGrid is not able to resolve the event. How can I solve this?

When you created your custom event after extending from Event, for the parent container receives the event, the bubbles property must be set to true.
Please check if you have done so. That should solve the problem. Let me know if it doesn't.

There are some apps that let you control limited content on another iOS device - but the content has to be within the app. You might check out SyncPad - perhaps you can import the presentation into it and then control it on the iPad. -
How do i set multiple line with hyperlink in JEditorPane?

i have a critical question where i have a JEditorPane component which it display the hyperlink. the problem occur when the display text of the hyperlink if it is too long, i need to truncate it into multiple line like "ABCDEF" to make it "AB<br>CD<BR>F". the hyperlink work only if the display text is not truncate to multiple line, it display nothing at all if i try to truncate them into multiple line.
anyone? thanks and regardsAt the point you wish to change to two columns, Insert > Columns and then in the Layout Inspector, select the number of columns. After the insertion point, you will also need to insert another Column Change to return the following paragraphs to single column.
Then Select the text to be bulleted and in the Text Inspector > List tab select the type of bullets.
Note: This creates two columns that flow together. This can be tricky if you add any text later.
If you wish to ensure alignment, create a two column text table and remove the lines with the Graphic Inspector > Lines > No Lines option and insert your text in each column and apply the bullets as above.
This will create a text box - you then need to ensure it moves with the text by electing "Object Moves With Text" in the Wrpa Inspector.

How do you measure performance of an item renderer?
I'm creating an ItemRenderer in Flex 4.6 and I want to know how to measure total time to create, view and render an item renderer and how long it takes to view and render that item renderer when it's being reused.
I just watched the video, Performance Tips and Tricks for Flex and Flash Development and it describes the creation time, validation time and render time and also the reset time. This is described at 36:43 and 40:25.
I'm looking for a way to get numbers in milliseconds for total item renderer render time and reset time (what is being done in the video).To answer your first question, in this video Ryan Frishberg recommends measuring and tuning your code. I'm trying to follow his example for my own item renderers.

How to create a wavy line with the Pen Tool?
Let me start by saying that I am a novice to Adobe CS4, including PS.
I am trying to follow this tutorial: http://www.rnel.net/tutorial/Photoshop/11541 but I can not even get the pen to draw wavvy line. I keep get a straight line. To say the least, I am only able to complete creating the file.

Second request; How canyou remove a power line with PS CC?
Hi,
I konw there is a terrific new feature in PS CC (I have used it before!) but I just can't find any explanation on how to to do it!
The question is how do you remove, from an imge, a power line, or a telephone line by symply clicking on both ends of those lines in order to remove them?

Thanks to you and others on this.
They all finally brought me to the solution even by haphazard ways.
It turns out the the feasture was able under PS CS5 (which I didn't have).
However the feature under cc is slightly different and here it is FWIW.
1) Use the Spot healing brush tool
2) Make sure the content awareness is checked.
3) I checked also "sample all layers"
4) clik on one end
5) clic on the other end with shift-click
and the nasty little wire is gone.
I don't understand why such a neat feature like this is still not much advertised.

How do I cut a line with a rectangle using the Pathfinder
I'm a complete newb in Ai (many years in Ps).
I'm trying to cut off (delete) a rectangular section of a grid that is made of many lines. I keep getting the message, "The filter produced no results. Please select two intersecting paths."
In its simplest form, I have a stroked line (a path) and a filled rectangle (also a path). The rectangle is on top of the line.
I select both of the objects and choose Minus Front from the Pathfinder Panel.
And I get the message "The filter produced no results. Please select two intersecting paths." I've tried all of the options in the Pathfinder pane.
What I'd like to happen is to have the section of the line that is overlapped by the rectangle deleted, so I'd end up with two lines that looked like this:
If the rectangle overlapped the end of the line, I'd like the section where they overlap deleted, and I'd end up with one line.
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I've watched several videos about the Pathfinder, read a bunch of posts, and I'm still clueless.
Thanks!The Minus operation you're choosing is for shapes. Which means they can't be simple stroked line-segments. You have to expand the line segment into a shape such as a very thin very long rectangle and NOW you can apply the Minus Front operation. Try and see if you get the same results I got. Then you will end up with a shape which is probably not what you want but instead you can delete the portions of the shape or even average the thin line segments together to get a center-line grouped object.

Hello, so I have been following this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKzB-CFT0MI on how to make 2d intros in after effects and at the 2:20 mark he shows how he uses the pen tool to make curved lines around the elipse. I tried to do the samething myself, and couldent make the curved lines. I looked it up online and there were tutorials on how to make curved lines but they did not work the same way, and I could not make curves like he did.So if any of you know how to do curved lines like in the video, your help will be appreciated.

How to obtain a perfect line with this kind of scientific data graphs?
In a lab the students get this kind of graphs to later be processed in an axial system: a grayed pencil draw, very delicate, with all the imperfections in weight, intensity, etc.
We need to obtain an uniform line (a solid one, without gray variations, same weight, etc)
Autotrace seems the best tools although the results appear a little irregular.
What could be the best approach as we have hundreds to process?
Beginning with the scanning (more resolution?) and procesing firstly in Photoshop?
Thank you.Your pink line looks exaclty like the first image you posted. Did you possibly swap the cyan and magenta colors in the legend (cyan looks less bumpy so so guessign that is actually you bezier path)?
If the legend is swapped, then you should see the path is off immediately after using make work path in photoshop. If the dpi of your scan is high enough (eg: a of minimum1000 pixels in each direction, and tolerance setting is low enough, you should get better resutls.
