How to package multiple simulations?

Hi
I'm starting an elearning project that will have about 50 simulations of a software program. I've discovered the Aggregator and have a basic idea of how it works, but still not sure the best solution.
I would like some kind of page(s) for text and menus to talk about the simulations and then click to launch them. The sims could have some kind of Nav to get back to the main page or menu.
Do I have to build web pages from scratch for this, or is there a simpler way?

I think the Aggregator is a great option IF you don't ever intend to use an LMS because it progressively loads all of the modules in the background as the user is looking at the first one. If you open the TOC and watch it after you first open the project, you will see each module get added one after the other. Users cannot select any item to play unless it is fully loaded.
So this means you could have an initial short Intro module that your users start watching, and by the time they finish that, everything else is downloaded and ready to run from the TOC without any waiting. If you were using a normal menu page, users would still need to wait for each module to load after they clicked its link.
So the Aggregator acts as a sort of preloader (with each module also having its own preloader) and can give a significantly enhanced user experience.

I want to save them the hassle of installing each extension 1 at a time. It will also be great for maintenance purposes. I know joomla has been able to achieve this.

Yes, of you look at your mxi file, where it says files, for your last entry in the destination direct to a new folder (the extension manager will create it for you if it does not exist).
The extensions that you create will be shown in this new folder.
Add all the files for your extension (suite) to this one mxi file.

How to install multiple packages with pacman?

Hi ,
I guess it's a pretty noobish question but I wonder how to install multiple packages
that have the same prefix with Pacman.
To make myself more clear, I like to install all gstreamer packages and for that I would
like something similar to
pacman -S gstreamer10*
Is there a command that does something like this available? Found nothing in the man pages.
Maybe some tricky stuff with pipes?

How to use multiple selection parameters in the data model

Hi, after have looked all the previous threads about how to use multiple selection parameters , I still have a problem;
I'm using Oracle BI Publisher 10.1.3.3.2 and I'm tried to define more than one multiple selection parameters inside the data template;
Inside a simple SQL queries they work perfectly....but inside the data template I have errors.
My data template is the following (it's very simple...I am just testing how the parameters work):

As you see, I tried to have only one p_where_clause (with more than one parameter inside)....but it doesn't work...
Using only the first parameter (based on deptno (which is number), the p_where_clause is: p_where_clause := 'where (deptno in (' || replace (p_dep_2_param, '''') || '))';
it works perfectly....
Now I don't know if the problem is the datatype, but I noticed that with a single parameter (deptno is number), the lexical refence (inside the data template) works.....with a varchar parameter it doesn't work....
So my questions are these:
1) how can I define the p_where_clause (inside the package) with a single varchar parameter (for example, the department location name)
2) how can I define the p_where_clause using more than one parameter (for example, the department location name and the department name) not number.

the missing thing in your example is the fact, that if only one value is selected, the parameter has exact this value like BOSTON. If you choose more than one value, the parameter includes the *'*, so that it looks like *'BOSTON','NEW YORK'*. So you need to check in the package, if there's a *,* in the parameter or not. If yes there's more than one value, if not it's only one value or it's null.
So change your package to (you need to expand your variables)

How to run multiple sqls in one jasper report

Hello!
Is there any one that can help me in integrating/ viewing my xml file to the web. I have my GUI in jsp format, the jsp makes a call to the bean class and then finally bean class hit my reports java class.The report java class generates the report and shows it in the new window.
The problem is with writing mutiple sql queries and showing the result from multiple sql queires in one report.
I do not know how to write multiple queries for just 1 report. I can give a simple example of my problem also.
My report is as follows:
First Name Middle Name Last name
Sandeep Pathak
Now First and Middle Name come from 1st sql query and Last Name comes from 2nd sql query.
I want to join the result obtained from both the sql queries in one Jasper Report (not as 2 separate sections but as one section).
My problem is how to view my report in the web. furthermore, how to make complex query in jasperassistant, like multiple table in one query, because i�m integrating multiple query in one form or sheets of paper.
Please help me in this.

we never have issues when we combine standard objects, like a cliear with a load inforprovider, or the master data integration you mentioned in your document. However, from the moment we combine a script logic with a standard package (like a move) it does not work .The data package contains the task needed for the script and for the move. the process chain is called up but always comes in error in the first step (BPC modify dynamically ) ... there is also no log when checking the view status ...

LSMW - ME21 How to map multiple line items

I am using LSMW tool with batch input recording technique to create POs via ME21. I have defined source structures as HEAD with POSI as its subordianted structure. This settings worked perfectly for one single item line. However, it created a new transaction for each line item in the file. I did some searches in this forum and I noticed that someone suggested to dynamically set the line positon at the processing points. I tried a few times and could not get it work. Anyone knows how to map multiple items in LSMW, please help.

If you have used a b.i. recording, all abap code is inserted in std table /SAPDMC/LSGBDC.
The program to generate the B.I. session is automatically created when you run "Create Batch Input Session" step.
What means the numbers of items you can insert depend on the totals of items you have used while creating your b.i. recording:
If you have simulated to insert only one item, you'll be able to insert only one item in your project.
So you should simulate to insert severals items not only one, but I think it should be better you use a std method to create PO by LSMW:
- Std B.I: object 0085, method 0001 (RM06EEI0);
- BAPI   : object BUS2012, method CREATEFROMDATA1

Reusable Image Library/Folder to Share Across Multiple Simulations

Hey Captivaters!
I'd love to get your input on the feasibility of doing the following to make developing software simulations more efficient:
We'd like to create one image folder/library to share among multiple simulations (up to 50 sims!) in order to save time and to create reusability of screenshots among the different simulations. Another goal here is to have a consistent look (color, size, quality).
Is it possible to create one image folder/library that attaches to a CP file for reusability that pulls in from a server? My thought is you need to have your screenshots pulled into from a local library. Another example would be if the same exact screenshot is shared among 50 different sims, we'd like to update it in one place only vs. having to open up and edit all 50 CP files! :-)
The next question is we would like to figure out how to be able to quickly swap out screenshots for maintenance purposes. The issue there is we have to resize all our screenshots down to 1024x768 from the original size of capture (usually 1600x1200) so we'd have to resize first, then swap.
Does anyone have an efficient system/process in place for creating a reusable image library to share among many different simulations?

No, you open it and you can use assets. No automatic updates, when an image has been changed with roundtripping to PS, you'll have to open all the CP-files that have that image and republish. I don't think any authoring tool can do that.

Hi,
directories creates basis. If you have task to store data in application server you already should have information into which folder you have to do it. If you don't have this information because it is just for example training for next task then you can use your personal folder into which you have access. To get list of all available folders please look at attached code and form get_directories (you get the list of folders you see in transaction AL11). But don't forget: If you are using open dataset you have to have rights to access application folder!

How To Install Multiple OBIEE Instances On One Linux Machine

Hi,
OS: Red Hat ES 5.2
OBIEE : 10.1.3.4
We one development server(Linux) where one OBIEE 10.1.3.4 was installed with os user as 'ora1a' (Deployed on Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.4)
and now I have installed OBIEE 10.1.3.4 on same Linux Server with different user(ora2b) and different mount point (Deployed on Another Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.4 )
But My OBIEE was not working and I came to know that only one can be working by default.
After following few notes i have update NQSConfig.inc and odbc.ini with different ports ie from 9704 to 9725 and bounced BI server and presentation server
But still its not working can any one tell me what are all needs to update to make it work

I was not much clear about what you are telling
See my first OBIEE instance URL is http://hostname18.oracle.com:7777/analytics (As i deployed OBIEE on Application server 10g(OAS1))
and second one is http://hostname18.oracle.com:7778/analytics (As i deployed OBIEE on another Application server 10g(OAS2))
Also My port for first OBIEE instance is 9704 and second one is 9725(Which i changed to this)
Now tell me what are all i should update

How to have multiple windows of same app under JSF 1.1

I know this has been addressed in JSF 1.2, but does anyone have a good solution in JSF 1.1 concerning how to allow multiple application instances to be opened in different browser windows at the same time? I work for a large financial services company and we have multiple instances of the same application up when working with more than one customer or account at the same time.
We�ve figured out a way to use a custom variable resolver and property resolver to provide an application instance scope that works with managed beans; however, we are struggling with how to handle the JSF component tree. We can replace the StateManager or ViewManager, but we will be running under a vendor implementation of JSF and do not want to outright replace their implementation. We wanted to simply define our own manager, decorate the viewId with additional information, and then pass it on to the default manager. The big issue is that while the restoreView methods take the viewId, the writeState methods do not. This seems like a pretty big show stopper to us. If we have to wait until JSF 1.2, it will be a long wait. Any ideas?

The way I'm thinking of doing this is to use nested beans. So for example, I'd have an "AccountBean" written as a JSF managed bean, but this is not what I'd declare in faces-config. Instead, I'd have an "AccountMgr":

<managed-bean-class>AccountManager</managed-bean-class>
</managed-bean>AccountManager would have a map of AccountBean objects. In my pages, I'd reference the acctMgr:

Hi Lakshmi,
The best way to do it is to assign all the three RFC Enabled FM's to one function group. Later on the top menu in Utilities you get an option to Create a Webservice from a Function Group.
You can create one single Webservice using all the the 3 FM's.
