How to package XI/PI Interfaces in a product ?

Hi experts !
I´m working at a company that have a project to integrate SAP ECC with a software that they sold, and they want to turn the interfaces developed in a product to be sold to their customers(that use SAP and the software that they sold), and I´m seeking for the way to achieve this, package interfaces in a product.
I´m reading a lot about export XI interfaces in .tpz files and I think that this may be the way but I have some doubts like:
        - The XI/PI version installed on customer may be a problem ?(here I´m working on PI 7.0) - About this question, reading several questions in SDN, I understood that exports from PI 7.0 are accepted from XI 3.0, so, I think that the minimum configuration at the customer to support the product will be XI 3.0. Is this correct ?
        - The SAP ECC version installed on customer may be a problem ?(here we have ECC 6.0) - I think that the RFC functions(or proxy) can be imported inside the software component of the software sold by the company where I work, so in design(Integration Repository), I think that the version of ECC will not be a problem but, what about the configuration(Integration Directory) ? If I export the configuration of the interfaces, the tpz file(s) will be have data about Business System created on my working environment, that have a specific version. If I import this in a customer with another version of SAP ECC, this will work ? If not, there is a way to change the .tpz file to the ECC data inside it to be compliant to the ECC used in the customer ? Or the only way is to do the configuration of these interfaces by hand in each customer ?
        - If the question above solved without to make the configurations at customers by hand, there is a way to make the Business System in the configuration to be the same already used in a customer ? - I supposed to be installing this product in a customer that already have XI/PI installed and already have interfaces between ECC and another systems, in this case, ECC will be in configuration(ID) as a business system(for example, in customer, ECC is a business system named ECC_DEV, and here in my company, the business system name is MED, that is the system id of ECC). There is a way to make my export files(tpz), from my scenario, to use the same business system name already in use in the customer when I import the tpz ? About this, I´m thinking if there is some way to solve this using transport targets, what do you think ?
At this moment these are my doubts, as you can see, major doubts are about the configuration(ID) exports and how to adhere them to the customer scenarios.
Thank you in advance, and best regards,
        Wilson

Hi,
Some points to be noted are
1. Check for service pack than version.  check the pi7.0 and xi3.0 SP .  There are some measurements which will tell u that this service pack is equivalent for this versio serice pack.
2. The SLD must be configured again in the new system, once the business service can be exported as my my knowledge
3. All the RFC's and IDOCs can be imported, but make sure to reflect the same in ECC system also.  Eg., Custom Idocs
4.Also check the version compatiablity
5.I would suggest you to check on interface to interface rather than dump everthing in single go.
6. Export in different files and configure all the missing things accordingly. That will shorten ur problem solving time

    Anu

    Anu,
I've attached a really short example that does something like what you're talking about.  It just compares the user's username and password a pre-determined username and password and then "logs the user in" based on that comparison.  Like Greycat said, you probably want to store this username and password info in some sort of file on the PDA that's in an encrypted format for both security and flexibility of your application.
    I hope this helps,

How to Add a Physical Interface After Installation in Solaris 10
    Hi Java Specialist,
I am trying to setup a network interface with the following steps on a new fresh Solaris 10 installation using the instruction titled How to Add a Physical Interface After Installation in Solaris 10 3/05 ONLY from http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19253-01/816-4554/esxhb/index.html:
    1. # ifconfig lo0 plumb up
    2. # ifconfig lo0 10.56.8.101 netmask 255.255.240.0. This was the working Windows DHCP environment prior to installing Solaris
    10 on top of it.
    3. # Added saturn to /etc/hostname.lo0.
    4. # Added 10.56.8.101 to /etc/inet/hosts
    5. # Added 10.56.0.0     255.255.240.0 to /etc/inet/netmasks
    6.# reboot
However, the following errors kept recurring:
svcs –xv …. unable to qualify my own domain name,
    failed with exit status 69.
Any idea on what other steps have I missed? I was hoping to only do step 3 – 6 for the change to apply permanently.
    Many thanks,
    Jack

Hi Java Specialist,... in a Solaris forum?
    1. # ifconfig lo0 plumb upThe loopback connection (your lo0)is NOT a physical interface. There are no hardware components for it. Nor can I think of any reason why it should ever be anything other than the default 127.0.0.1
Use your favorite Internet search site (such as Google, Bing, Yahoo) to learn more about it.
    2. # ifconfig lo0 10.56.8.101 netmask 255.255.240.0. This was the working Windows DHCP environment ...I have no idea how a nonexistent software construct gets a DHCP address in a MS Operating System, unless you are confusing this with the "Microsoft Loopback Adapter" which is an utterly different concept. Again, go see what Google tells you.
    <br>
    <br>
    <br>
... completely unrelated to configuring an IP...
unable to qualify my own domain nameAgain, search the Internet or even search these forums with that string of words.
Go back through your two most recent posts and read the responses again.
They seem to both be on the same topic as this new one -- configuring an IP on something.
How to initialize new IP address on secondary interface permanently
How to change IP address permanently on Solaris 10
When you've done all that, then come back and tell us what you are actually trying to do.

  • How to package/inlcude C++ .exe and .dll files in a Java Web Start App?

    Hello,
I have a Java Web Start application that runs fine if the application is only 1 .jar file.
But I have a need to also run C++ .exe and .dll file from my Java application.
I wonder if someone could please tell me how to package/include C++ .exe and
.dll files in my Java web start application?
    Thank you and Best Regards,
    Akino

You need to place the EXE and DLLs inside the jar.
Java cannot execute them from the jar. They have to be extracted (see Class.getResourceAsStream) from the jar and copyied into the target machine file system, perahps to the temp directory. Now you can execute them using Runtime.exec() or ProcessBuilder.start().

You can't. The ce or e1000g refers to the driver as well as the adapter itself. The only exception I am aware of is: the ipge and e1000g which both refer to the Intel Pro 1000.I'm pretty sure I've renamed a driver in the past (and all references to it in name_to_major, path_to_inst, driver_aliases, and minor_perm) and had it function just fine after 'plumb'ing it up. However I just tested this by trying to turn a 'pcn' driver into a 'foobar' driver on a vmware box. It looks like everything works except some internal bits of the driver continue to create one file with 'pcn' in the name instead of 'foobar'. And since this is Solaris 10, the /devices filesystem is dynamic and read-only. I can't seem to force the change.
So while this may be possible with some drivers (and maybe only on older versions of the OS), it doesn't seem to be generally possible for all drivers on Solaris 10.

    Hi Vishwa,
It is not possible to export the project or comp/interface from a WDA project to your local hard disk.
Also if you need more information on WD ABAP please post in WebDnpro ABAP forum. You will definitely get more information regarding your queries in that forum.

  • How to avoid long user interface response time in long measurements ?

    Hi
I tried to find more information regarding techniques how to avoid long user interface response times in case of extremely long measurement times with an external instrument communicating over GPIB, so I post this hoping to get some hint or a link to a guideline. I guess this is quite normal problem.
Problem is that when I want to measure long time in order to get an average result from the instrument, I have to wait until the result is returned from the instrument. Obviously that makes the user interface response very slow in traditional technique.
My restriction is the old GPIB 488 instrument driver that I would not want to modify, but I have source code to it.
What would be the best way to improve the response time for user interface ? I have looked into the few things:
    * multithreading
    * callback in main program for GPIB events
    * modifying instrument driver e.g. to support VISA and creating a VISA callback
    regards,
    Petri

    Several ways to do this:
If you're getting several measurements, you could have the instrument generate an asynchronous interrupt (an "SRQ" in GPIB terms), then collect the data in response to the SRQ callback.  While you're waiting for the SRQ's, you can have your main thread running the interface so responsive GUI.  You don't have to spinlock on the GPIB read waiting for instrument data.
Or, as you mentioned, you could spawn a thread to manage the measurements, and use a timer in the main thread to periodically allow you to check the status of the measurement thread.  Again, the main thread mostly just runs the user interface.
Either way, the idea is to keep the main thread freed up most of the time to run the GUI, and have it periodically check for completion of your measurement sequence.  While you're waiting in the main thread, you may want to make sure the user can't inadvertently re-trigger another measurement sequence until the active one is complete.
If you do find yourself doing a dead wait, you'd want to break this up into a series of shorter waits, and in between each wait, do a ProcessSystemEvents from the main thread to keep the GUI active.

  • How to package other jar files into one jar?

How to package other jar files into one jar? How can i get the class in the inner jar file?

Generally not a good idea. The Java runtime won't be able to load classes from those "inner" jars, you'd have to write your own classloader to do that. It's not a brilliant idea, generally, anyway, since the point of having lots of jars is to keep your application modular. Bundling them all together like that means you have to re-deploy the whole thing to fix, for instance, one small bug in one small library
If you really want to do this, there's an Eclipse plugin called FatJar, but I urge you to consider whether you really want to do it first.
