How to pan using magic mouse in Autocad 2012 for Mac?

Hi. I'm loving Autocad 2012 on my Macbook Pro Retina (although, it is not yet supporting Retina Display). The problem is, I want to be able to pan using magic mouse but, there seems to be no option for this. If I use two finger swipe, it switches between desktops.

I'm disliking the navigating too, but instead of the spacebar, I have to hold down the Command button at the same time. The problem with that is it takes me out of Model Space and into Paper Space. Two double clicks to get back in and all is well, but it took a while, and when you're concentrating on eg, dimensioning, you don't always notice.
Re: inactive windows. No zooming, but side to side movement is ok. A fix would be nice.
My other problem bugged me so much I went out and got a (insert feeling of embarassment here) Logitech wheel mouse, and that was trying to control the zoom rate. When it's set as slow as possible, it's too slow for everything else and when it's in AutoCAD, it's ok but most of the time it takes 3 or 4 swipes on the scroll to get it to move. The wheel mouse was ok, but zoom control doesn't work well, even tho it's an expensive mouse, and exchanging it for a new one brought the same problem. (let go of the wheel and it bounces back a little...or a lot... from the direction in which you zoomed). I think I'll take the magic mouse...

As of this morning I am not able to scroll using Magic Mouse in MS Word for Mac 2011 (V14.4.5) on a MacAir with Yosemite (V10.10). It seems to be isolated to MS Word. Any thoughts?

Have tried suggestions from here and elsewhere but scrolling not working for me (in Word only!) on magic mouse or trackpad.

  • Mac OSX Lion & Autocad 2012 for Mac

I recently purchase Autocad 2012 for Mac and installed it on a Macbook Pro running OSX Lion.  I have a problem and I'm trying to determine if it is Lion-related or Autocad 2012 for Mac-related.  Within Autocad there is a basic function whereby you can typically use the print functiona and "save as PDF" to save a drawing in a PDF file format.  Once saved in this fashion, the file can then be emailed to a commercial printer (like a Kinko's) that has the correct size printer for printing architectural plans.  Unfortunately, when I try and "save as PDF" the function is not working?  I recognize this is a really specific question that might be as much Autocad related as Mac related, but if anyone has any ideas please let me know.  I'm under the gun on timing to get plans completed!  Many thanks!!!

Make sure your copy of Adobe Acrobat is for Lion if it is installed on your Mac.  It can affect whether or not some PDF functions work.  Your other option, might be to use Save as PDF from the File menu -> Print command.  Though I think the quality of the PDF is not as good that way, at least you can try it and see what comes out.

  • Using Magic Mouse without a  bluetooth enabled Mac Pro?

Is there a solution to use the Magic Mouse since I don't have a bluetooth enabled Mac Pro??

Buy one of the small USB adapters by Belkin that support bluetooth. The only catch with my Magic Mouse has been that you have to leave the computer on -- do not let it go to sleep. Once it sleeps, you have to go back to your USB mighty mouse, restart the MP, and then you will have full access to your Magic Mouse again.
This is not an issue for me since I leave the Mac on all the time. It puts the display to sleep, the hard drives to sleep, and everything else to sleep, except the machine itself. It works, and it's easy.
Another catch with this setup is that it does not seem to work on Bootcamp in Windows 7, but the USB mouse seems to take care of that archaic OS just fine.

  • How I can highlight, copy and paste using magic mouse?

I'm wondering how I can use Magic Mouse to highlight, copy and paste documents. I look at directions in manual and preferences, but could not find the answer.

Just like any mouse. Click down at the start of text you want to highlight, drag to the end of the text. To copy, either use cmd-C, or ctrl-click (hold down the ctrl key and click) or right-click, and click Copy in the popup menu. For paste, cmd-V, or use Paste in the right-click menu.

  • Unable to wake screen using magic mouse or trackpad after installing magic mouse

    Dear Everyone,
I am using mbp 15 inch early 2011 with 2 GHZ intel i7 processor and a  4gb ram. I would like to tell you that i have installed the mac os x lion and quite happy with the improvement. however, there are same changes which i am not sure whether it is that my mac that causeing theproblem or the bug from the lion itself. i am unable to wake my mbp screen using my magic mouse or trackpad after installing lion. i believe that my mbp has not really enter sleep mode as i dont see the sleep indicator at the bottom right corner flickering. i also believe that it is only the screen that goes to sleep while the hard disk is not. Normally a single swing  of the magic mouse or a single swipe of the trackpad will normally wake the screen. in order to wake the screen now is only to click on the magic mouse or trackpad. furthermore, scrolliing page using magic mouse also become unusual after installing the lion. does any of u happen to come across these problems as well? Is there any other way to downgrade to snow leopard back? (i ask this in case that this issue really cannot be fixed). Please help me on this issue. Thank you very much for taking your time to read and reply this thread.

First, Lion does not wake on mouse or trackpad movement, only clicks or keyboard presses.  This is presumably to avoid waking the computer from display or full sleep accidentally, and is just how Lion works.  It's going to take some getting used to, personally, but I've noticed my mac hasn't woken up on it's own.  Apparently moving about my apartment moves the mouse enough that Snow Leopard used to wake the iMac.  This is not a glitch, and unfortunately, a downgrade is a complicated matter, involving erasing the HD entirely, and restoring from a backup created in Snow Leopard and not used with Lion at all, or manually importing important bits of data, as libraries upgraded by new versions of Mail, iCal, etc will not be compatible with the old versions.
In terms of your mouse scrolling, describe it in a bit more detail; Lion introduces "natural" scrolling, where instead of the mouse wheel moving the "window" over the contents, it moves the contents through the window, like scrolling on an iPhone or iPad.  In other words, think of your finger on the mouse as pressing on the page you're looking at and dragging it upward through the field of view.  I remember long ago thinking my very first scrolling mouse was backwards, and then adjusting to "down is down, up is up".  If this is the behavior you're experiencing, this also is the way Lion works.  This, however, can be changed in the mouse or trackpad preference pane in system preferences.  Simply deselect "natural" scrolling.
In a more general sense, its usually not a good idea to do a major software upgrade on your primary machine unless you're willing to deal with some zero-day glitches.  It sounds like the issues you're having aren't actually glitches, and you should be happy for that, but in the future, you might want to wait a few weeks for other users with more experience with major OS launches to find those bugs and point them out to the community for Apple to fix.  In terms of an OS launch, I think this has been absolutely one of the best.  I'm seeing very few major glitches resulting in lost data, few things that would really destroy my personal workflows, and compatiblity issues with other products seems to be well documented or negligible.  It's also a bit hasty to assume that mere hours after launch Apple would have any ability to fix ACTUAL problems with the OS.  My recommendation would be to get used to the change; having to click the mouse at least means you'll never accidentally wake your machine bumping against your desk.

  • How do I change my mouse to right click for copy and paste

How do I change my mouse to right click for copy and paste?

OK, what mouse are you using?  Brand, model?  Your right click should register as a right click unless that has been overridden by a preference pane.  If your Mouse preference pane looks like this, your right click should be the equivalent of a control-left-click on a Mac.
