Forms Personalization - How to pass parameter to a Report
Hi All,
I am trying to run a report from a menu entry in the AP Invoice entry form. For this I have done the necessary steps of creating the menu entry and am assigning the values for the 2 parameters to a global variable and then launching SRS form.
In SRS form created an action to assign the global variable value to work_order.parameters. I can invoke the SRS OK except that my 2 parameter values appear concatenated in the first parameter itself and are not getting assigned to each of them seperately.
my global variable assignment is as follows :
=${item.inv_sum_folder.vendor_name.value}||'.'||${item.inv_sum_folder.vendor_site_code.value}
and my work_order.parameters value assignment is as follows :
=select nvl(${global.kmg_invalid_po_gv.value}, ${item.work_order.parameters.value}) from dual
Any ideas why this is not working ?
Thanks in advance.
ShankarHi Prudhvi,
Thanks for reply.
I have actually seen it work for another report 'Supplier Payment Listing' (there are a few ppt presentations of this on the internet, can dig it out if reqd)
The Select of the Single Query is assigned using INTO to the output variables. Just as you can use these output variables anywhere in the message you can also use them as parameters to pass to a concurrent prorgam or a function.
However, when I try to mimick what i saw with above report for my custom report it somehow cannot distinguish between the parameters and treats them as 1 parameter value.
I believe the parameters need to be seperated by a period(.) when assigning to global variables.
Thanks

How to pass parameter into extract function (for XMLTYPE)
I have a table PROBLEMXML with XMLTYPE field xml_column. In this column there are several deffinitions for the problem. There is no max amount of deffinitions and it can be no definition at all. I need to return all definitions for every problem as a string wirh definitions separated by ";".
Query
SELECT extract(prob.Def,'/Definitions/Definition[1]/@var') || ';'|| extract(prob.Def,'/Definitions/Definition[2]/@var')
FROM PROBLEMXML j ,
XMLTABLE (
'/problem'
PASSING j.xml_column
COLUMNS probid VARCHAR (31) PATH '/problem/@id',
Def XMLTYPE PATH '/problem/Definitions') prob
where PROBLEM_ID =1;
returns exactly what I want a;m.
But
declare
my_var varchar2(2000) :=null;
n1 number;
n2 number;
begin
n1:=1;
n2:=2;
SELECT extract(prob.Def,'/Definitions/Definition[n1]/@var') || '|'|| extract(prob.Def,'/Definitions/Definition[n2]/@var') into my_var
FROM ETL_PROBLEMXML_STG_T j ,

COLUMNS probid VARCHAR (31) PATH '/problem/@id',
Def XMLTYPE PATH '/problem/Definitions') prob
where PROBLEM_ID =1;
dbms_output.put_line(my_var);
end;
returns NULL.
Is there is a way to pass parameter into extract function?I need to return all definitions for every problem as a string wirh definitions separated by ";".In XQuery, there's the handy function "string-join" for that.
For example :
SQL> WITH etl_problemxml_stg_t AS (
2 SELECT 1 problem_id,
3 xmltype('<problem id="1">
4 <Definitions>
5 <Definition var="var1"></Definition>
6 <Definition var="var2"></Definition>
7 <Definition var="var3"></Definition>
8 </Definitions>
9 </problem>') xml_column
10 FROM dual
11 )
12 SELECT j.problem_id,
13 prob.probid,
14 prob.def
15 FROM etl_problemxml_stg_t j,
16 XMLTable(
17 'for $i in /problem
18 return element r
19 {
20 $i/@id,
21 element d { string-join($i/Definitions/Definition/@var, ";") }
22 }'
23 passing j.xml_column
24 columns
25 probid varchar2(30) path '@id',
26 def varchar2(100) path 'd'
27 ) prob
28 ;

How to pass Parameter to Oracle Report from portal

How to pass parameter from xcelsius report to WebI report
Hi,
I have a pie chart in xcelsius. When user clicks on one of the slices of the chart I want to pass the selected slice value to a WebI report.
For this I am doing following steps
1. When user clicks on a chart slice the selected slice value will be written into a cell say B1
2. Create a URL button which will get triggered on change of the value of cell B1.
3. Set the URL value in the cell say C2. Here I am using Opendoc function to open Webi report.
If I enter following value in C2 and run the report it works fine and opens the desired webi report.
="http://myServer.xyz.com:9001/businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sType=wid&sDocName=MyDoc&sReportName=MyReport&sWindow=Same&sRefresh=Y&lsSCompany=MyCompany&lsSDecision=" &$B$1
here I am Passing two parameters Company and Decision.
Now I want to make this report run in all the environment so I changed the actual path of server( myServer.xyz.com:9001) to following
="../../opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sType=wid&sDocName=MyDoc&sReportName=MyReport&sWindow=Same&sRefresh=Y&lsSCompany=MyCompany&lsSDecision=" &$B$1
but if I do this it gives me following error in Webi:
"Error 404--Not Found
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.4.5 404 Not Found
The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address."
Is there any other way to open the WebI report from xcelsius?Hi Peter,
the link provided refers to Xcelsius V4.5.
In Xcelsius 2008 you have to control Flash Vars in the Data Manager.
Go to the Data Manager, Add the Flash-Var Connection Type, Select CSV-FlashVar and define a name and a range.
But i am not sure if Xcelsius Engage can handle FlashVars, because i am only working with Enterprise.
Please take a look at your manual.
For sure there are other ways to import data during runtime. Take a Look at the Connections provided by Data Manager. (e.g. QaaWS, SSRS, LiveOffice, Webservices, ...)
Also take a look at the link below. It might be another nice option for "pseudo" data connectivity

There are a number of ways to create a fieldcat.
For the purpose of this example i will build the fieldcatalog manualy

appending the rows. This method can be the most time consuming but can
also allow you more control of the final product.
Beware though, you need to ensure that all fields required are
populated. When using some of functionality available via ALV, such as
total. You may need to provide more information than if you were
simply displaying the result
I.e. Field type may be required in-order for
the 'TOTAL' function to work.

How to Pass parameter to Custom Scheduler dynamically
hi ,
I am new to OIM.
Need your help in passing parameters dynamically to Custom Scheduler.
I have created Custom Scheduler by extending Task Support.
I have registered the plugin through API , using PlatformService.registerPlugin() method.
As I need to send the parameter(s) to this CustomScheduler, I have defined them in Metadata (CustomScheduleTask.xml) file as below and got it imported into DB
through weblogicImportMetadata.sh script by providing the path of the file.
<scheduledTasks xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oim/scheduler">
<task>
<name>CustomScheduleTask</name>
<class>org.schedule.custom.task.CustomScheduleTask</class>
<description>Fetch details of the given user_id</description>
<retry>5</retry>
<parameters>
<string-param required="true" helpText="Login Name">Login Name</string-param>
</parameters>
</task>
</scheduledTasks>
Iam able to import this plugin as well as register the plugin successfully. Now I have defined a job to which this Custom SchedulerTask is mapped.
Now in order to run this job(schedule task) I need to provide Login name( or id) which needs to be send as a parameter for the scheduler to get executed.
But while defining the job with this Schedule Task on OIM console, I was not able to define or pass parameter to this job. hence parameter is null in
CustomSchedule 's execute method .
Kindly help me how to pass parameter dynamically while running the scheduler from OIM console so that the execute method would be able to receive it.
Thank you in Advance.
Regards,
KumarHi,
When you have created the schedule job for your custom schedule task, you should see your Login Name textfield in the schedule task. If not, then there verify your schedule task xml.
In your schedule class code, add:
public void execute(HashMap arg0) {
final String METHOD_NAME = "execute :: ";
logger.debug(CLASS_NAME + METHOD_NAME + "Entering Method - execute");
try {
String LoginName = arg0.get("Login Name");

How to pass parameter as http POST in pageContext.setForwardURL
Hi,
I need to call a third party application page in my custom OAF page. I need to pass parameter to this third party page using POST method. I am using following command to call that -
HashMap hm = new HashMap();
hm.put("FirstName",firstName );
hm.put("LastName",lastName);
hm.put("AppSignature", signature);
pageContext.setForwardURL(hopURL,
null, // not necessary with KEEP_MENU_CONTEXT
OAWebBeanConstants.KEEP_MENU_CONTEXT, // no change to menu context
null, // No need to specify since we're keeping menu context
hm, // request parameters
false, // retain the root application module
OAWebBeanConstants.ADD_BREAD_CRUMB_YES, // display breadcrumbs
OAException.ERROR);
I am passing parameter to the page using hash map table. That application is expecting the parameters in POST format and I believe using hash map table the parameters will be passed as GET format.
We figured that out because one of the parameter we have to send is AppSignature which is 160 characters long. When third party applicatoin received that parameter they got only 151 characters, looks like they are truncated by GET method.
Any idea how to pass parameter using POST format so that this issue could be fixed.
Regards
HiteshSumit,
Thanks for your reply. I have resolved this issue by forwarding all parameters in session using pageContext.putSessionValueDirect and redirect to a jsp using pageContext.redirectImmediately.
in jsp I read the params from session and set in the form , and then redirected to my third party application.
Regards
Hitesh
