How to Pass selected language between scripts
Hi,
I have a main script in which user is selecting language then later I am calling a callback script using call subflow step.
When callback script is executed, I get English as default language for all prompts.
I like to send caller's language selection to subflow so that script automatically picks all prompts based on user selected language.
English and French language is installed and common name prompts are available in both folders. uccx version is 8.5
Any help in pointing in right direction will be appreciated.
Thank you,
Sonain
Sonain,
In the subflow step of the calling script you can pass in the language either "English" or "French" using the input mappings tab. In the Sources field you can type either "English" or "French", in the subflow destinations field you can enter language (no quotes) which is a variable defined in the called script. In the called script you create a string variable called language and either use a switch step based on the language string or If step based on the language string. Based on the language passed in from the calling script you can do a set contact info step to set the language. See attached. I haven't tested this but I use the set contact info step to set the language where necessary.

In BADi , How to pass the values between two Method
Hi Experts,
We have two methods in BADis. How to pass the value between two Methods. Can you guys explain me out with one example...
Thanks & Regards,
Sivakumar SHi Sivakumar!
Create a function group.
Define global data (there is a similiar menu point to jump to the top include).
Create one or two function modules, with which you can read and write the global data.
In your BADI methods you can access the global data with help of your function modules. It will stay in memory through the whole transaction.

How to pass selection screen parameters in text elements?
how to pass selection screen parameters in text elements?
don't you mean he other way around. Assign text-elements (selection texts) to select options?
This you do in the menu where you can find text-elements, selection texts.
menu Goto->text elements->selection texts.

HOW TO PASS SELECT-OPTIONS AS IMPORT PARAMETER TO A CLASS
Hi experts,how to pass select options value as a export parameters to a zclass.
can give me some idea.
Thanks
saiAs Sachin already said, selection options are stored in an internal table. You can reconstruct the table type without the corresponding input fields using the type addition RANGE OF.
So - assuming you have the following in your program:
DATA: wa TYPE sflight.
SELECT-OPTIONS so_car FOR sflight-carrid.
you can create a publically-visible type in your class using direct type entry and the code
TYPES: my_selectoption TYPE RANGE OF sflight-carrid.
and use this to define the importing parameter of the method.
The only other thing you have to remember is that select-options generates an internal table with header line. Thereore, to pass the table to the method, you would use (in the above example) so_car[], and not just the name of the select-option.
Hope this helps.

How to pass XML data between applications
Hi,
can any one tell me how to pass XML data between applications
Thanks in advance
SudheerSteve,
I tried the code in the http package in the Appendix A section of your book. Each time i try a POST I get a HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request error from the server. I can successfully do a GET from URLs. I have pretty much copied your code verbatim. Any ideas?
Thanks,

Select/option with cfquery - how to pass selected value to field downform
I have a form that has a basic select/option dropdown using a cfquery result. I would like to use the value that the user selects to pre-populate an editable 'title' field further along on the form. For example:
<form action="index.cfm?fuseaction=sendEmail" method="POST" name="email_approval" enctype="multipart/form-data">
<table width="500" border="1" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2" align="center">
<tr>
<td align="left">Request ID:</td>
<td align="left" width="100"><b><cfoutput>#RequestId#</cfoutput></b></td>
<td align="left">Application:</td>
<td align="left" width="400"><b><cfoutput>#this_request.app_abbrev#</cfoutput></b></td>
<td align="left">WR/RD#:</td>
<td align="left" width="400"><b><cfoutput>#this_request.request_number#</cfoutput></b></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td align="left">Email Type:</td>
<td align="left" colspan="2">
<select name="approval_type" size="1" >
<cfoutput query="approval_types">
<option value="#approval_types.approval_descrip#" style="font-size:8pt">#approval_types.approval_descrip#</option>
</cfoutput>
</select>
</td>
<td align="left"> </td>
<td align="left">Date Sent:</td>
<td align="left"><b><cfoutput>#dateformat(Now(), "MM/DD/YYYY")#</cfoutput></b></td>
</tr>
<cfset subjectLine = "#RequestId#" & " " & "#approval_types.approval_descrip#" & " Approval Request" >
<script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript">
<cfoutput>
var #toScript(subjectLine, "jsLine")#;
</cfoutput>
</script>
<script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript">
function setValue()
document.getElementById('subject').value =jsLine;
</script>
<tr>
<td align="left">Subject:</td>
<td align="left" colspan="5">
<b><input type="Text" name="subject" required="Yes" size="70" maxlength="70" onClick="setValue();"></b>
</td>
</tr>
When the user gets to the subject field,the onClick will pre-populate the field with the combined value using <cfset subjectLine = "#RequestId#" & " " & "#approval_types.approval_descrip#" & " Approval Request" >. regardless of what is selected, it uses the first item in the query list because that is what is rendered when the form is loaded (got that). I figure that I need a javascript onChange event for the select statement for the dropdown, but can't figure out how to pass this javascript variable back to the CF form. Any ideas, or am I stuck?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts!You will need to do it with JS as the values you want to access are not set until the form is submitted. This should give you what you want.
It uses a hidden form field to hold the requestID, that is then accessed with JS. (I am assuming this value is available when the page loads)
<form action="index.cfm?fuseaction=sendEmail" method="POST" name="email_approval" enctype="multipart/form-data">
<input type="hidden" name="requestID" id="reqID" value="1234" />
<table width="500" border="1" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2" align="center">
<tr>
<td align="left">Email Type:</td>
<td align="left" colspan="2">
<select name="approval_type" id="approval_type" size="1" >
<option value="test" style="font-size:8pt">test</option>
</select>
</td>
<td align="left"> </td>
<td align="left">Date Sent:</td>
<td align="left"><b><cfoutput>#dateformat(Now(), "MM/DD/YYYY")#</cfoutput></b></td>
</tr>
<script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript">
function setValue(){
var e = document.getElementById("approval_type");
var approval_type_value = e.options[e.selectedIndex].value;
var subjectLine = document.getElementById('reqID').value + ' ' + approval_type_value + ' Approval Request';
document.getElementById("subject").value = subjectLine;
alert(subjectLine);
</script>
<tr>
<td align="left">Subject:</td>
<td align="left" colspan="5">
<b><input type="Text" name="subject" required="Yes" size="70" maxlength="70" onClick="setValue();"></b>
</td>

you will have to declare a node with the attributes in the context tab of component controller. by doing this you will make this node a global one in your entire application . now copy the value you have in the internal table of yours in this node.
after doing so you can read this node anywhere in the program and you can retrieve the values.

How to pass variables to shell script?
I have a shell script which uses the touch command to change the date of a file. To run the command on the command line the syntax is:
set-file-date.sh <file> <date>
I'm trying to run it from an automator workflow, so I'm prompted for the date, then the workflow iterates over the finder items, i.e., files, and changes the date of each files.
The problem is in the "Run Shell Script" action. The $@ is substituted with the file names selected in finder, so this will echo the file names:
for i in "$@"; do
echo "$i"
done
What I want to do is something like this:
for i in "$@"; do
set-file-date.sh <DATE VARIABLE> "$i"
done
But I can't prompt for the date value, and pass it to the script. I've tried using the "Get Value of Variable" and the "Ask For Text" actions. I can either get the file names from finder OR the text input in the "Ask for Text" action, but not both.
Is what I'm trying to do possible with a shell script?
-ThanksThis is standard AppleScript text concatenation...
set howManyWords to do shell script "wc -w /path/to/file | awk '{print $1}'"
do shell script "/usr/local/bin/growlnotify -t 'Corpus' -m '" & howManyWords & " words were added to the corpus.'"
in other words, just use the & to concatenate the parts of your text together. -
How to pass select option value to function module while using service call
Hi,
I have select-option in my WD application. To collect data based on user input im using service call. How to pass this select option values to my RFC.
rgds
sudhanshuHi,
Thank s for your reply. In fact im doing similar with following variation:
i) collected range values using get_range* method.
ii) separate low and high values as:
read table <field2> index 1 into wa_range.
vert2_low = wa_range-low.
vert2_high = wa_range-high.
(Please note that in RFC I have taken two importing parameter as s_vert_lo and s_vert_hi)
iii) Now setting these RFC attribute as:
lo_el_importing->set_attribute(
EXPORTING
name = `S_VERT_LO`
value = vert2_low ).
and
lo_el_importing->set_attribute(
EXPORTING
name = `S_VERT_HI`
value = vert2_high ).
iv) In RFC im having my query as :
select <fld list> from BUT000 into table itab where vertical in r_vert.
Here, r_vert is a range defined as:
ranges r_vert for <fld refrence>
r_vert-sign = 'I'.
r_vert-option = 'BT'.
r_vert-low = S_VERT_LO.
r_vert-high = S_VERT_HI.
append r_vert.
Issue here is with ranges. if im passing both low and high values it is fine but if only low value being passed it is not giving me any record.
Please suggest.

How to set selected Language from Portal dropdown in Logon to User profile
Hi Gurus,
I select a language in Portal Language dropdown in the Logon Page.
After login in the content is getting displayed in the browser language.
I want the portal content to be displayed in the selected language in the portal LogonPage.
I checked the thread Logon page change to add a dropdown for language
The is the requirement for me too .
Kindly suggest me on how to set the language in the Portal user Profile so that the portal contents gets displayed in the selected languages from the dropdown .
Thanks in AdvanceHi Prasanna,
The language that the portal is displayed in depends on the following
heirarchy, with the languages at the top of the list taking precedence
over those at the bottom:
1. Component (iview) language (defined in the portalapp.xml)
2. Portal Mandatory language (defined in the prtDefault.properties)
3. User language (defined in the user#s profile).
4. Request language (defined by the browser).
5. Portal Default language (defined in the prtDefault.properties)
6. System Default language (default locale defined by the OS).
So for example, if you have your portal user language (as in point 3)
set to Russian, but the language of the iView that is the logon page
(as in point 1) set to English, that logon page will be displayed in
English.
Keeping the above in mind, please make the necessary changes to the
configurations and check if it helps.
Regards,
Sowmya
