How to patch Solaris8 x Intel with the file patch-2.5.4-sol8-intel-local

Hi everyone,
I successfully installed Solaris 2.8 on a Pentium II 350 Mhz. All works fine, but I want a system all patched, so I downloaded the patch file patch-2.5.4-sol8-intel-local from
http://soldc.sun.com/freeware/details/detail_patch_2.5.4_8_Intel_SFW.html
I trasferred the file on PC but I don't know which command i have to do, because:
pkgadd,
patch,
patchadd,
do not work.
How have i to apply the patch ?

Go to http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/patches/ and click on the correct version/platform combination to download the patch cluster. Beware - its about 30 mb!

How do i print a photo with the file name

This seem stupid simple but I cannot find an answer anywhere. I want to print out hardcopies of phots with the file name printed with the photo. In Windows there is a program called Picture Manager (which has been eliminated in Office 2013) where you can open a folder of images, rename them individually or in batches, resize, edit, etc, all in one lovely program. You can print out individual or contact sheets with specific information for each image. Easy, one program, easy results.
Is there a comparable program for the Mac? I have searched the web and can only find suggestions that use multiple progams, downloads, plugins, and convoluted work arounds to do this. I have tried printing contact sheets in iPhoto but it crashed each time. Our IT guy suggested moving the images into an album and printing from there but it still crashes. And even if it worked I want large image per page but iPhoto leaves a large amount of white space.
The quickest way I have figured out is this:
Select the images in Finder, make a separate folder and copy the images there. (3steps)
Locate the folder in Finder and drag it to the Bridge icon (4steps)
Select the images in Bridge, adjust the output settings and Save as a pdf (6steps)
Locate the pdf in Finder, open in Acrobat, select the images (again!) and print (9steps)

How do I reconnect my iTunes with the files?

So my wife, after not using iTunes for awhile, opened iTunes to find absolutely nothing at all. No lists of any artists or songs at all; it was like we just bought a new Macbook and opened iTunes on it. All her media files are on an external drive (mine are there, too, and we have not had this problem in my profile on this computer, btw), not in the original iTunes library folder, and we've never had problems before with this...I used the advanced preference tab to change the folder where all the media was stored for both of us to save local hard drive space.
Well, after googling profusely, I followed the advice found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1967
Well, that seemed to work, as all of her content has been restored into iTunes, but every single song has the iCloud icon next to it as a download symbol. Even when I have the folder on the external drive set as the folder to find the media files, iTunes still will not go looking there, it expects me to download off the Cloud, which I don't think even contains all the thousands of songs she has.
So, after doing what I did to restore the lists of content in iTunes, how the heck do I get iTunes to find all her files where they are?

And I just discovered another problem. The method I used to restore things to iTunes only restored that which is on the iCloud. Which is a tiny fraction of the content she actually has. So I'm back to square one with this, I guess, as the vast majority of her content is still not listed in iTunes. Frustrating.

That is so dumb...Apple is the best and most techinological company IN THE WORLD and they don't have the time to invent something like that? HUH? All they are worried about is making the "Worlds best Phone" and they can't take the time out to help their users or anybody that has their products. There is no Info tab in Mavericks

How do you manually manage podcasts with the new iTunes?

Like the subject line says: How do you manually manage podcasts with the new iTunes?
With the previous version of iTunes, when I plugged in my iPod, I could select the iPod, select podcasts, and manually delete episodes. With the new iTunes, I can't select individual episodes when looking at my iPod through iTunes. Is my only option to Sync? If so, why is that my only option?

I think I figured out a way to do what you want to do - which is the same way that I use Itunes with my Ipod. (My Itunes libary was destroyed last year so I can no longer auto synch my Ipod as I would lose thousands of songs).
Funnily enough, I discovered this new way of manually moving podcasts while trying to figure out what cpragman was trying to say (I never could - he must be smarter than me, as I couldn't get his method to work).
1. Open up your Itunes in your regular Library view. Choose Pocasts from the left hand side (either in the sidebar if you have that enabled, or from the little "radio" icon if you don't.)
2. Mouse to the podcast you want to place on your Ipod.
3. Right-click it. A long menu will pop up.
4. Move to the "Add to Playlist" option. As you hover, all your playlists will be visible. But at the very top will be the name of your Ipod itself (whatever you named it originally). Choose THAT name, and voila! That podcast will now copy to your Ipod and be easily available when you disconnect.
A nice feature of this method is that you can shift-click several podcasts at once and do the same thing, and all your selected podcasts will copy over (if you're like me and update your Ipod only every few weeks).

How can I gift a playlist, with the songs in the order I choose, to a bunch of other people? Since iTunes won't allow me to burn a song more than a few times to disc, and I have to share playlists with my cover band (so we can learn songs), I need the capability to do this.

Drag them from where? I've tried to drag them from windows explorer and it won't allow me. It seems the only place I can drag files from is from the iTunes library list. The problem is there is no way that I can find to just see the songs from a specific folder on my drive in the iTunes library list. It sorts them by artist, album, genre, etc....but not by folder.

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.

You might consider itunes match for moving CDs you've copied into your itunes library if you dont have a way to use home sharing.
iTunes match is an optional service offered by apple that costs about $25 a year. It scans your music library and if it finds music that is already in apple's itunes catalog it'll automatically "unlock"/"store" these in the cloud for you. Items that it does not find in the catalog it'll upload and store these in the cloud for you and you can download them on your devices. See http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/

But, I want to make sure that we are together on the details. This is my understanding of what you have written. Please review and let me
know if I am misinterpreting anything that you have written.
You have a video created in Windows Movie Maker.
How did you output the video from Windows Movie Maker...wmv or mp4, what was the frame size and frame rate of that export?
Next you import that video into Premiere Elements 12 (can we assume that this is on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit?)
From what you wrote, you have applied a pan and zoom effect to your video in Premiere Elements.
Now you go to export the Premiere Elements 12 Timeline content with your video with the pan and zoom applied.
But, the pan and zoom effect is not seen in playback of the export.
Is all of the above correct so far?
If so....we are going to need some more details from you...
a. What is the project preset that you or the project are setting to match the properties of the video coming from Movie maker? See Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and the readings for Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Rate, and Pixel Aspect Ratio even if the fields look grayed out.
b. Are you applying the pan and zoom effect with the Pan and Zoom Tool, fx Effects Presets, or keyframing the Scale (for Zoom) and
Position (for Pan) in the Motion Panel expanded?
c. What are you selecting as your export in Publish+Share/. Please give details...are you using default settings or customizing the export
setting under the Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab of the preset selected?
I am suspecting some sort of mismatch of your project settings or some problems with working with the Pan and Zoom tool. I need
your answers to help me help you. If I have written anything that you do not understand, please let me know. I will re-write if necessary
so that we are in sync to resolve the issue.

Connect the device to the computer.
Right click on the device in iTunes and select Transfer Purchases.
Why would you lose any content by syncing with iTunes?
Is this not the computer that the device is normally synced with?

Do you see the menu bar or anything else? As for the missing toolbar, this is the case for 90% of Firefox users, for instance the Google Toolbar. To restore it, you need to install Mozilla's Add-On Compatibility Reporter extension from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/15003 and restart Firefox twice.
As for the white screen, I am not sure what you mean, but your install looks corrupted, you probably need to uninstall Firefox and reinstall from scratch. You may spend too much time and effort otherwise. Back up your settings first if you have any, like Firefox bookmarks.
