Slowness...First Try using Disk Utility to do a Disk Repair, as shown in this link, while booted up on your install disk.
You could have some directory corruption. Let us know what errors Disk Utility reports and if DU was able to repair them. Disk Utility's Disk Repair is not perfect and may not find or repair all directory issues. A stronger utility may be required to finish the job.
After that Repair Permissions. No need to report Permissions errors....we all get them.

How can Oracle ERP system reduce the total cost of ownership

i have read a report that describe the advantages of using Oracle ERP system in different organizations ; it is mentioned that
"+Oracle’s ERP solution suite helps customers achieve 30-80% lower total cost of ownership, benefit from a predictable cost model, and reduce risk+".
So does this means that Oracle ERP system reduce the total cost of ownership because it provides cheaper price comparing to other ERP providers, or it is meant that using Oracle ERP system will reduce the total cost of ownership for other assets in the organization by 30-70% ?

My thoughts:
1) Oracle ERP (or any ERP) typically replaces numerous applications. Each of those applications needed separate licensing fees, separate support mechanism, and separate employees in your organization to support them. By consolidating into one, it is easier to support it.
2) Normally, Oracle ERP is cheaper than SAP but it certainly not the cheapest ERP in the market. There are some smaller ERPs which are cheaper but may not offer the breadth that Oracle offers. In fact, Oracle offers a small business ERP that is quite cheaper than EBS.

How To: Perform a system reinstall in Windows 7

I have a Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5508 system unit laptop the part number is PSC0YU-04V03X and the serial number is XXXXXXXXX that needs to have the OS reinstalled. But I do not have the Windows CD's to do this with, and the drivers for the hardware. Is there any way to get a copy from you guys? I am pretty sure I can do this myself, I just need the media, can you help me? The Toshiba sticker on the bottom is still readable for the product key, I can give you that as well if you need it.

You can restore that computer to its original out-of-box condition including Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1 and all the necessary drivers and Toshiba utilities using the procedure shown in the User's Guide starting on page 59.
If for some reason the HDD recovery partition method described there doesn't work and your friend didn't make recovery media he was instructed to when he first started his computer, you can order Recovery Media that does the same thing HERE free but with a stiff shipping and handling charge. Hi Kamal,
I have done a system copy of the production portal to a sandpit system before. The system copy export import method works very well, and is easy. For my portal, the whole procedure took me less than 6 hours.
1. Go to this page: System Copy and Migration
2. See the videos "Demo: How to Perform a System Copy Export" and "Demo: How to Perform a System Copy Import".
This should give you the basic idea.
I did a systemcopy using sapinst. If I remember right, this is the steps I performed:
1. On target host, Installed a new Central services.
2. On source host: Ran sapinst system copy export for Central Instance and Database instance. This created two export files (depending on your database size).
3. Used the export files created in previous step to run the import step in target host.
4. Some post processing steps, like configuring sso, creating systems in system landscapes, configuring WD JCos etc.

System restore rolls your system files back to a restore point from a previous date. You can make restore points manually, but Windows will also make them automatically. This will undo system settings, changes from Windows Update, and changes from newly installed software (including removing software installed since that restore point).
Your data, documents, and most programs won't be changed. This makes system restore a great place to start when you're having a problem and don't know how to fix it.
System restore reverts drivers installed since the restore point was created. Programs and apps installed since the restore point was created will also need to be reinstalled.

To perform a system restore, follow these steps:
Open the Start Menu and select Settings.
Select Update & security and then Recovery.

Enter your password and select Continue.

If you want to create an image of the entire disk, then `dd' is an option. But you can also use ufsdump to create an image of a filesystem running on that disk, but you need to do that for every filesystem on the disk and please keep a copy of you vtoc for the future if you need to restore everything.
On the other hand you make me thing about someone who wants to clone machines and then a Flash Archive can also be an option. Please keep in mind to ask the question in the future instead of conformation of your answer ;-)

Managed System Configuration Error for MDM 7.1 SP09

Greetings, Needed your expert advise. We are getting an error while configuring our MDM Servers (Version 7.1.08.196) in Solution Manager. As suggested in SAP Note 1798643 , I have manually filled the required details and transferred through sldreg.exe to SLD. Now when i try to perform Managed System Configuration, it is throwing the below error. The definition of Technical System '~MDM' is not correct: '~MDM': No Path found in Installed Technical System 'SID~MDM~'. I'm not sure how to manually update the Install Path for our MDM Servers. Since, the data to LMDB is automatically supplied, I might not be able to manually edit anything. Could you please advise if there is any step to solve this issue. Thanks, Haseeb Ahmed.

How to configure sap maxdb client to connect to SAP ERP system (SAP HR)

I am currently installing live cache for SAP ERP HR application(Idoc), can anybody tell me the sequence to proceed to configure SAP livecache with SAP ERP system. i am doing following steps
1. Install SAP DB using installation MAXDB CDs
2. Install SAP Livecache and standalone server SCM 5.0 using SAP ERP master and Livecache dvds.
3. install Livecache client fromSAP ERP master and livecache dvds between SAP ERP and livecache server.
4. configure in LC10, tcode.
but when i press on livecache monitoring in LC10 it gives me following error.

How to analyse the main memory usage in SAP ERP systems?

Dear expert,
I'm doing a research work about analysing the main memory usage in SAP ERP systems.
I would like to find out what is load in buffers and when. That means, which process have the control of these memories and which are always performing something, tables loaded, and so on. Becuase I tried to isolate the space needed by a simple webservice call (create one material) in my test system, but even after a $SYN there are something stored in the buffers. I use a BAPI to avoid the execution of the SAPGUI and its repercussion in the system (I know the BAPI called uses resources too, but when I run this BAPI to get the statistics, it's like ST02, I get different values). Could someone help me or recommend something specific to read? Thanks a lot in advance.

The point is now that I want to isolate the memory used by a webservice that I call, I mean, I would like to know how many memory is this webservice using in each buffer. And could you tell me where could I read something about the order that things happen in SAP System when a webservice is called (always memory related), that's which steps are done to store data in buffers and so on.
