How to photomerge photos together

I have the program Photoshop Elements 6 (for Mac). I took a few photos and would like to put them together (to make one), and I understand I could do that through Photomerge/Panorama. Could someone please tell me how do I do that?

I too am using Elements 6 for Mac, and when I click File>New>Photomerge panorama, I get the message "Error 48 - file or folder does not exist." All 3 of my photos are in the project bin. Where am I going wrong?

PSE6 - HOw to collect photos together in one folder

I have managed to get photos scattered across several folders, some on my laptop and some on an external hard drive.
I have managed to get them all into one catalogue, but what is the best way to physically move them all into one folder so it canbe backed up?
I already tried to use the file/move command, thinkiing i could move all the photos to a single folder that way, but for some reason it stopped half way through and now many photos are disconnected.
any help appreciated!

I don't think that there is a single best answer to your question so I recommend that you wait until several people have responded to this question.
1 -- I think that I would want to know more about the previous failure:
Can you identify any specific characteristics of the photo file where it stopped half way on your previous attempt?
Have you attempted to do the Reconnects for the Missing Files?
Do the files that show as Missing actually exist on a hard drive? If yes, are they on the laptop drive or the external drive?
2 -- I would be tempted to do the actual moving of the files using Windows Explorer. However, I would then know that I had potentially many photo files to Reconnect using the PSE Organizer.
3 -- When you have Disconnected Files, those files do not get Backed Up using the PSE Backup command. And since I think that at least some of the files that you show now as Disconnected are files that need to be moved, I rejected the Backup command possibility.
Why? Even though the normal recommendation is against moving with Windows Explorer, both the Bug when dup name occurs and the still unknown reason for your prior failure when attempting the Organizer Move command would make me stay away from using the PSE commands on the photo files. Therefore my consideration of the option 2 to move with Windows Explorer.

Hi Everyone,
I'm an intermediate Photoshop user and this is my first post. I'm hoping to get some advice from an advanced user to achieve the following:
1) I have two seperate images...one of a scenic background and another of a person's face. I want to place the image of the person's face on top of the scenic background and blend them together so the person's face looks like a soft silhouette on the scenic background. I want to do this in an 'artful' way where the two images blend together with real chemistry. I tried using "overlay" mode on the facial image and fiddling with its layer opacity (which I thought would work) but the results look very contrived to me. Anyone know how to do this ?

Thank you John for the quick reply. I actually excerpted the facial image fairly well and I did use a feathered edge as well as a layer style called "Outer Glow". Both of these techniques helped. I'm just looking a way for these two images to have real chemistry together. I am designing a series of sympathy cards for a memorial service and I'm looking to marry these two images together in an artful way. Are there any 3rd party filters that combine photos together in a collage like this ? Although my collage is very simple (just two images). I have attached one sample background image here if you'd like to see what it looks like. I have the image of the Woman's face already cut out on a transparent background in a .psd file. How to stitch two photos together as panorama

Best way I can think of is to know the dimensions of the two photos, start a PS Touch project that's roughly the additive width of those two photos (e.g. If both photos are about 1000 pixels across, start with a project of about 2000 pixels wide or more), then place each photo on its own layer using the "add image" button (2nd icon from the upper left).
Use the "transform" icon (5th icon from the upper right) to change a layer's size, position, etc. Adjust one layer's transparency while you place them together. Put it back to 100% opacity when done.
When making a panorama, remember to have an overlapping point (usually about 20 to 30%) between the two photos. This makes it easier to stitch.

How to properly stitch together many nearly identical photos into a slide show.

I'm not too sure if Final Cut Pro has what I need to complete the following question, but I'd like to ask the group any way. If not, then maybe you can steer me into the right direction.
I just started taking dozens of weekly photos of the same exact view from one location in our town. My final goal is to eventually put one shot from each of my weekly shoots into a time-lapse slide show/video. I have a dominant landmark in each of the photos, and that landmark is "almost" in the same identical location within each of my photos. However, it's not perfect enough. I'd like to edit each photo so that the landmarks within each photo are located as close to the same location within each photo. This will make for a much smoother slide show in the end.
I do have Final Cut Pro, Aperture, and iPhoto. I have iPhoto pretty much mastered, but have yet to put much time into FCP and Aperture. iPhoto offers no type of grid to use as far as cropping photos. Straightening yes...but for cropping...no.
Would anyone happen to know how I can create this slide show with the best results?
Again, each photo taken is being taken of the same landscape from the same location. However, I'd like to be able to stitch (possibly a hundred, or more) photos together to make as smooth a slide show as possible.

What version of iPhoto?
Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. (You unchecked the option to copy files into the Library on import) The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.

How can I keep the front and back of a photo together in a single image?

I'm running PSE 8 on XP with SP3.
I'm getting ready to upgrade to PSE 9.
My cousin just sent me 24 old family photos.
On the back of each photo is a lot of information.
Who is in the picture, where it was taken, what the event was, etc.
What I'd like to be able to do is to scan these images in and somehow keep the front and the back of
each photo together in a single image. That way I can post them to a photo web site and people
can look at the image and read what it is.

I worked on one of the pictures with your Mom and Dad. These scans are quite good and there is a lot of information in them. One can spend a lot of time fixing them up - good project!
Here is what I did:
Duplicated background layer
Applied Brightness/contrast adjustment layer, worked the sliders
Merged down
Sampled sky with eye dropper tool, opened blank layer at top of stack, used brush tool to cover a few of the spots in the sky (?dust)
Merged down
Accessed Smart brush tool, selected black & white in drop down, selected high contrast b&w, covered the sky with that
Selected Yellow filter, and covered the ground
Merged down
Opened a blank layer at top of stack and added a couple of clouds
Applied Photofilter adjustment layer, warming filter LBA, adjusted density
Sharpened slightly with unsharp mask
Merged visible
Applied stroke
On review, the spots in the sky need additional work - they show up more on-line than in PSE. Can be fixed in step #4.

You didn't tell us very much about exactly what your wish to do here. From the information provided I would suggest making adjustment on one and then using lift and stamp to do the other photos. If that is not what you want please provide more details.

If so, in the photoshop elements editor, either File>New>Photomerge Panorama or Enhance>Photomerge Panorama (depending on the version of photoshop elements)

The reason I ask in my ealier verion of Photoshop, CS3, there was a manual alignment feature when using 'Photo Merge' feature, undr which you could manual alignment photographs if you wanted to, and I do in this instance. This feature was removed in subsequent versions of Photoshop CS 4,5, and 6.

Sean, Batch resize them all to the samne size, load as layers, increase Canvas size, and the layers will 'snap' together with the Move tool. You'll be able to use the alignment tools in the Options bar when the Move tool is selected. You will also be able to use the 'Auto select layer' feature in the Options bar to make it easier grabing the right layer.
Otherwise, get hold of Contact Sheet 2. Still resize all the images to the same size, and set the gap to zero, and turn titles off. Please note this is from memory, and it is years sonce I last used Contact Sheet.

You need to sync all the photos that you want on the phone together in one go, as only the most recent sync remains on the phone - not including the photos in a subsequent sync is how you delete them from the phone.

Group photos together

Hi,
I am making a movie made up of A LOT of still images, much like a stop motion animation. I am wondering if it is possible to group photos together once I have them how I want them so I can move them around like a single video clip.
Or will I have to export it as a small video clip and import it again to do this?
I'm using FCP 5.1 by the way

As reink says, exporting is the best way. Unless you have filmed these yourself as a stop motion animation as continuous jpeg file numbers, in which case you can import them into motion as an image sequence, resize the whole clip (not individual frames) and export as a video file from there.

i am trying to solve one problem. I have one iMAC where i have two user profiles connected to different AppleIDs. Next to it there are two iPhones and two iPads. I am trying to find out, how to manage photos from all these devices using one account on iMAC. Second question is if there is any finction in iPhoto that can publish images to NAS server? Second alternative for me is to byu iCloud drive space and use Family sharing for publishing photos. Bellow text schema is attached, it is only my idea and i dont know if this could work like this.
