How to pick photos you want to keep?

I have a casio ex-fc100 and take a lot of bursts of pictures, which helps to capture the best photo. This means I have a lot of pictures to sort through. Using iphoto to pick the "good ones" directly from the camera doesn't work because the preview resolution is so poor. So I end up downloading everything and deleting what I don't want. But what is the best way to keep the good ones? I've tried flagging the good pics, but how can I extract them from the rest of the images, so that I can delete the rest of the images? If I create another folder and drag them there, they are deleted when I delete the originals.
Am I making any sense at all?

Thanks for the reply! I hadn't thought about using the ratings to mark the keepers... too obvious I guess¿
I end up keeping about 2% of the photos, so marking the keepers was much quicker than marking the throw-a-ways. In full screen I learned I could push command-1 to mark a picture as 1 star. Then after marking all of the keepers, sort by rating and delete the no star photos.
Thanks again for the help.

  • TS3697 I am receiving an error message(iTunes will no longer sync photos to the iPhone "Peter's iPhone". Do you want to keep or remove photos previously synced to your iPhone") I am trying to download pics from my computer to my iPhone. Any ideas? Peter

When I went to download some pics (originally taken with my iphone 4S) from my computer back to my iPhone I got the following error message: "iTunes will no longer sync photos to the iPhone "Peter's iPhone". Do you want to keep or remove photos previosly synced to your iPhone?"
Coincidentally, my wife just purchased an iPhone 4S and syncs to iTunes on the same computer.
    Any ideas?
    Peter

The "best" way to handle it, if you want to keep everything separate, is to create separate user accounts on the computer. make sure you log into your account on the computer before you attempt to sync your phone and log out when you're done using the computer.
Though it's possible to sync both of them to the same iTunes library, and even share an account for the iTunes store, you're inviting confusion and possible data loss (as you've discovered already). Best to just use separate user accounts on the computer. That also gives you the benefit of not polluting the other persons browser favorites, contacts, etc.

  • When closing a Word doc can you stop 'Do you want to keep this new document?'

    Hi,
Everytime I close a Word document I keep getting the save document dialogue box appearing with the text 'Do you want to keep this new document [filename]?You can choose to save your changes, or delete this document immediately. You can’t undo this action.'.
How can you stop this? I just want to be able to open a Word document, view it and close it without the hastle of being asked if I want to save it or delete it.
Thanks for any help on this.
    P.

    Hi Pete,
When you open a Word document in Pages, it is converted to Pages format. Pages is asking if you want to save as a Pages document (and replace the Word document). You can stop the Save dialogue box by:
System Preferences > General > Uncheck Ask to keep changes when closing documents.
However, I would be careful. This will apply to all documents that you open in Pages (or Numbers or other apps). You might have a Pages document where you do want a reminder to save. Small problem to say 'Don't Save' to a Word document that you open to view, but don't want to save. I find it is safer to turn on 'Ask to keep changes when closing documents'. That puts you in charge of your work.
Another way to just view a document is to open the document in Preview or TextEdit (right click or control click, Open With).
    Regards,
    Ian.

  • ITunes no longers asks "Do you want to keep the original file or move to trash?" - Can this be fixed?

I'm not sure if this was a recent update in Mavericks, but when I used to delete items from iTunes it would ask something along the lines of:
Do you want to keep the original file or move to trash?
Now I no longer get this, instead iTunes asks:
Are you sure you want to delete the selected song from your iTunes library?
After which, if you choose the option "Delete Song", you get no option to keep the original file, it just straight up deletes if from my library and hard drive. Does anyone know if there is a way around this? For whatever reason, I want to be able to keep the original file on my Mac, without keeping it in my iTunes library.
I've tried resetting dialogue warning, and this hasn't made a difference.
    Thanks!

How to chose either you want to print a picture or document black in white or color from your computer before printing; regardless of picture being colored or black in white.

than i printed from HP Laserjet Pro 200 Color; by selecting it from drop down menu, but the print out was still coloured..
    PLEASE HELP ME!!
it may be something to do with printing settings..

Here's a link to a thread with a similar issue on a different printer that might help.

  • How to edit email you want to forward ?

how to edit email you want to forward ?

The Windows Phone OS has been out and used by lots of users for a year and a half already.  I thing most all of its restrictions and limitations are pretty documented and easily discovered by just performing a little research...the cat's been out of the bag for a long time!
Nonetheless, there's a lot to like about the phone! (at least IMHO).  With each update new functionality and features are added to the phone, third party software is getting better and better....I, personally, am quite satisfied with my windows phone and look forward to all its future iterations.

  • When I go to restore my phone; is there any way to pick what you want back on your phone or do you have to get everything backed up?

When I go to restore my phone; is there any way to pick what you want back on your phone or do you have to get everything backed up?

Thank you.  I was afraid of that.  I backed up from iCloud.  I looked at the iTunes one - it had four different ones on there; was hoping I could see because my grandson's phone was redone last year (his mom messed it up then) and didn't know anything was backed up to iTunes.  He lost a lot of stuff that time. I'm just trying to get his phone back to par after someone changed his passcode on him as a joke and forgot what they changed it to a few days ago.  They should change it so one could go in and pick what they want or don't want.  Thank you again for your time.  I do appreciate it.

  • Outlook 2013 Rules "Which Rules Do You Want To Keep - Client or Server"

Ever since I upgraded to Outlook 2013, whenever I run my morning Rules on our companies public folder, I get a pop up box asking "Which Rules Do You Want To Keep" and the choices - "Client or Server" So naturally I run the rules that are stored on the
server and all my rules are run properly. But its a bit of a hassle that it makes me click that every single time I run the rules (sometimes several times per day) even though they are the exact same rules I ran on Outlook 2010 and I was never asked. Im wondering
if there's a way to set this choice permanently so I dont have to make the choice daily. Even when I make a new rule it asks me this question, even though the new rule isnt stored in either location at that point.

This behavior occurs because a copy of the rules that  you created for this Exchange mailbox is stored in your local .pst  file. When you start Outlook and access your Exchange mailbox from computer B, Outlook expects rules. However, the rules
are  not  present because they are stored locally in the .pst file on computer A.
To resolve it, we may Deliver new e-mail to a new location. (In Outlook 2013, there is no "change folder" option in Account setting. If you are using PST as the data file, please create/set another PST as default to have a try)
These issue may also caused by the following conditions:
    1. Two Outlook Computers Are Connected to the same Microsoft Exchange Server Mailbox
    2. Different Versions of Outlook Connected to the Same Exchange Server Mailbox

  • How do delete photos from iPhone but keep them on the cloud?

Is it possible to delete photos from an iPhone but keep them on the cloud? If not what is the purpose of buying extra storage for icloud If you phone can only hold up to 128gb?
finding it hard to get a straight answer on this, so maybe have to go to a local shop and find out.

    Refer to this Faq.
How does iCloud Photo Library save space on my device?
iCloud Photo Library can move the original high-resolution photos and videos to iCloud and
replace them with lightweight, device-optimized versions on your iOS device. This helps you
make the most of your device storage while giving you access to more photos than ever.
You can turn on Optimize [device] Storage from Settings > iCloud > Photos or Settings >
Photos & Camera > iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. You will need
an Internet connection to access an original photo or video that’s stored only in iCloud.
Yes I want to know the answer too.
If I subscribe to iCloud storage but my iPhone can just hold up to 16 gb.
Why do I have to do it ? to make my iPad see photos from my iPhone?
I did try to disable icloud photo while i had 1gb photos stored in my iPhone
and wipe them out, yes ,nothing left, 0 data. but when I turn on iCloud Photo -
again. everything come back as preview photos but when I look at each, my phone
will download them all anyway. so, how can you manage space on devices actually?
if I have 16 gb on my phone , So I can see all of my 1tb photos on iCloud ?
and have enough space on the phone to do other things right?

  • How to delete photos on phone but keep on cloud

How to keep pictures on Cloud and delete on phone

    Hi igerd,
Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you want to store or back up the pictures on your iPhone using iCloud. There are a few different options that are available when using iCloud services.
You can use iCloud to back up your iPhone data, including pictures, as explained in this article:
iCloud: iCloud storage and backup overview
Note that your photos wont be backed up if iCloud Photo Library beta is turned on:
If you turn on iCloud Photo Library beta, your photos and videos are already stored in iCloud, so they aren’t included in your iCloud Backup.
If you are using iCloud Photo Library beta, your pictures will be synced between your iPhone and the cloud. Removing them from your iPhone will also remove them from the cloud, as mentioned here:
iCloud Photo Library beta FAQ - Apple Support
Deleting a photo or video from your Photos app will also remove the item from iCloud Photo Library and from your iCloud storage allocation. Photos and videos you remove can be recovered from the Recently Deleted album for 30 days. After 30 days, your content will be removed from the Recently Deleted album. Photos are backed up on our servers for up to 30 days after they're deleted from the Photos app. If you need to recover these photos during that time, contact Apple Support.
    Sincerely,
    Jeremy

  • HOW TO SUPPRESS "DO YOU WANT TO SAVE CHANGES YOU HAVE MADE"

    ORACLE APPS CUSTOM FORM
WHENEVER I AM PRESSING CTRL+F11 AND SERACH ABOVE PROMPT IS COMING. HOW TO SUPPRESS THAT ONE.

The message is occurring because the user (or your code) has changed something in the form. Forms needs to know what you want to do with the changes before it can continue.
When you suppress this message, then when the user has changed something in the form, he won't be asked to save his changes. What do you plan to do then? If you silently discard his changes, he may not be happy with you. If you silently save his changes he may not be happy either. So let the user see the message and let him decide what to do.
If your code is changing something in the form (not the user), then you need to find out what is being changed. Once you know, then you can fix it.

  • How to stop "do you want to sign in to itunes" message

Hello All. I recently purchased a new iphone 5s and really like it.
One thing i don't like is the "do you want to sign in to itunes" message it gives me every day when i first turn it on.
I know its a small thing but is there anyway to stop this message?
    Thanks for your time.

I finally got an answer for this when i visited my local Apple store.
A sales ladie showed me how to get rid of the message.
    (1) go to Settings and select " iTunes & App Store"
    (2) at the " Show all store purchases and iTune Match uploads."  set Music (off) and Videos (off)
That's it. Your phone will not ask you to sign in to iTunes every time you first power it on now.
She told me it's a commericial thing. The defaults are set to steer you to the Stores in the hope that you'll buy something.
