How to place a Dashboard icon on Dock on my MBPRD

F4 is no longer a link to Dashboard.  I would like to add an icon to the dock to take me to Dashboard.  I would prefer this to using Spotlight.  How?

Is there a way to restore the F4 key (without using the fn key) to Dashboard?

  • Dashboard icon on Dock disappeared

I accidentally deleted my Dashboard icon from the dock and can't figure out how to get it back. I tried finding it in Finder, but I can't find it in Applications (maybe I'm not looking in the right place).
I can still get to the Dashboard with mouse clicks, but would like the icon back as well.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks.

Go to: "Apple / System Preferences / Accounts" are you logged into your Admin. account or other?
Return to default desktop, apparent "loss" of home directory

  • Dashboard icon on dock

hey all I was hoping someone could help me. the dashboard icon is gone off of my dock. I can't seem to figure out how to get it back on there because the dock is inactive anytime dashboard is opened. can anyone help, please!

You can go to the Applications folder (in your boot hard disk partition) and find the Dashboard icon.
Then drag-and-drop it to your Dock and you will be OK.

  • How to fix low quality icons in dock?

I know it's been around for a while but I still didn't find any solution. My problem is that any new icons that appears in my dock are low quality only. Even if it's native Apple app like Pages...
Any solution how to permanently fix this issue?

I have a similar (or worse) problem.
Many of my icons appear in very low quality. This affects customised folder or hard disk icons, but also applications. Both in the Finder and in the dock.
Even the just updated iWorks icons appear as if a tiny size image has been blowen up.
Funnily, they did appear just fine before installing the update.
It looks like everything that was on my boot disk when upgrading to ML looks still fine, but everything copied afterwards, or mounted afterwards gets these low resolution icons.

    Thanks

Go to Apple Mac OS X with Safari and drag the icon next to "http" from the address to the right side of the dock.

  • A few weeks ago you sent a tip by e-mail (which I have lost) to place the "Print" icon up on the top tool bar; for printing direct from screen. Please re-send.

A few weeks ago you sent a tip by e-mail (which I have lost) explaining how to place the "Print" icon permanently on the top tool bar (top right; underneath the "Home" icon).
Could you kindly re-send the tip?
    Thank you

    Do the following:
    # Right click at the top of the Firefox browser
    # Select <i>Customize...</i> from the drop-down menu
    # Drag the <i>Print</i> button to the top toolbar/tab bar
    # Click <i>Ok</i>

The dashboard Icon has disappeared from my dock and is not in my applications folder. I know it's there somewhere. How can I restore or reinstall it?

Do you have Time Machine enabled.   If so, go back through your previous months until it features in your Application folder.   Then restore.

  • How do I remove an icon from the dock of an iMac 10.9.5.?  Dragging doesn't work although I have tried a number of different places.  I recall right clicking used to give me a remove option.

How do I remove an icon from the dock of an iMac Maverick, 10.9.5?  I've tried dragging different places: desktop, finder list etc.  No luck.

Drag up towards the centre of the screen & hold for a second or so. The icon will have the 'smoke cloud' appear, let go & it will be removed.
There should also be a 'Remove from Dock' option in the popup menu. It is in the 'Options' section . ctrl+click will 'right click' if right clicking is disabled.
If this is not possible the Dock is locked (this may happen on a 'Managed Mac' normally setup by a company or school etc). See your tech support in this case.

  • How to add printer icon to dock

How do I place a printer icon on the dock?

Open the printers in System Preferences.
Double click the desired printer to open it's print queue, that will load an application in the Dock. Drag that application anywhere in your Dock & it will become saved there.
Quit the app & it should remain in the Dock.

  • That Dashboard icon!  (How can I get it back?)

That nice black Dashboard icon was dragged off from my Dock and, poof!, it's gone.
How can I get it back? I don't see it in Applications where I could drag it back to the Dock.
I can still F12 Dashboard back into existence but I miss that Dashboard icon. Thanks and happy holidaze in advance!

No...doesn't seem to be there anywhere. Yet I hit F12 and the whole Dashboard comes up, no problem.
Whatever you do, do NOT drag your Dashboard icon off the Dock (poof!) 'cuz you might not be able to get it back on their. Minor annoyance...major if you are OCD like me. When I sign on into another Account (user) no prob -- it is there, but still not in Applications.
    Mystery continued...thanks.

  • How do I retrieve the icons in the download map of my 2009 iMac with Maverick. They show up in the finder, but not when I open downloads from the dock.

I have a 2009 iMac running on Mavericks. Since a few days, when I open the Download Map from the dock, I only see "empty" icon symbols. When I leave the map open the icons re-appear after some 20 seconds. When I re-open the downloads, the icons are empty again.
How do I get the icons to behave in a normal way again?

bro I just had this issue its as simple as swiping to the right of each album artwork that does not display in the list view (On your Iphone.) Once you swipe to the right on every album that does not display in the list view you will see the delete option come up. Hit delete! Dont be scared. Do this with every album art that does not show up and then resync your Iphone. Go to the list view again and all of your missing album artwork will be displayed in both the list overview and close up landscape mode.

when I am opening any application including safari, these icons are not showing in dock, how to get open applications in my dock?

This could be a plist corruption problem, but I'm not sure.
Sometimes, the preference list files get corrupted. You can usually just remove them and they'll get re-created. This may require you to reset certain settings. A notable exception to this is the Mail plist which actually stores the Library structure of your email accounts. Deleting the Mail plist will definitely cause lots of problems, but is recoverable.
The plist files are stored in the /Users/username/Library/Preferences/ folder. They usually have the naming convention of com.company.programname.plist.
A simple troubleshooting technique is to move a suspect plist file out of the Preferences folder and start up the app, again. It will re-create the plist from scratch.
In your case, I would try the com.apple.dock.plist. You can use Activity Monitor to kill the Dock app and it will restart. Or, you can log out and log back in.
There is a new file with Leopard called com.apple.dock.db. I haven't figured out what it does, but you might try moving it out. If anything gets worse, you can move the old file back in replacing the newly created one.
This all sound somewhat odd, so I don't know if this will help.

  • My FaceTime icon in dock is not showing when and how many calls I have missed (similar to the email system where it shows how many emails (on the stamp icon) have been received

My Face Time icon in dock does not show how many calls I have missed.  It should show the number similar to the email system(a red number appears on the stamp icon).  How can I rectify this problem?

    Hey michelefromuk,

Check or uncheck "Badge app icon" option to show badges on the icon of the app in the Dock.

how to place the "go" button at left size in dashboard prompt

Change your code to this and it should work:
    PARAMETERS : p_date LIKE sy-datum ,
                  p_uname LIKE sy-uname.
    DATA: field1(8) TYPE c .
    AT SELECTION-SCREEN .
       IF p_uname IS INITIAL.
         field1 = 'P_UNAME'.
         SET CURSOR FIELD field1 .
         MESSAGE e001.
       ENDIF .
I think you need to have the MESSAGE statement (or something similar).  If you don't have a message class assigned to your program, instead of
    MESSAGE e001.
    you can use
MESSAGE 'Please fill in all required fields' TYPE 'E'.
