How to place InDesign files inside InDesign files w/bleed intact?

I'm placing InDesign working files inside another InDesign document that's a printer-provided template. Esentially, I've designed a multipage book and now need to put those pages with bleed into a larger, one page printer template. No trouble placing the files, but I'm not able to give any of my placed pages bleed. Any thoughts?

1. convert your internal table data to XML format using function module SAP_CONVERT_TO_XML_FORMAT.
2. Convert the XML data into Xstring format using Function module SCMS_BINARY_TO_XSTRING. pass the file size got from the step 1 in importing parameter.
3. loop on the internal table got from the step 2 and use OPEN DATASET, TRANSFER AND CLOSE DATASET

How do place a file for download from our server?

I have some pdf forms that I place on a site, but I had the set up as hyperlinks to webpages so that they opened up in browsers. This isn't good because the pdfs are forms to be filled out and we've had a variety of problems with people trying to fill them out or print from the browser.
I want them to download the file to their harddrive and open in abode reader. I saw from another post that you can point the hyperlink to a file but I don't want them to download from my computer but from our server. How do I do that?

As Dani notes, by default the user's browser is going to decide what to do with a PDF. Most browser's today choose to display a PDF inline.
There's no seamless way to force a download of a PDF file within Muse, but it's possible to do by writing some PHP or editing some configuration on your webserver.

I want the client to get the exe file while downloading using the jnlp file. my code use the exe file. so what will be the correct entry in the jnlp file. I have used many options but while downloading it gives the "CORRUPT JAR FILE " message.

Java WebStart is not a general purpose installer for random software. It is a deployment and update mechanism for Java software.
You can only download JAR files through Java WebStart. If you really want to distribute an exe (there are probably better ways than JWS, though), you could wrap it in a JAR file and write a Java program that puts it in the right place on the client machine and starts it.
Please note that you need to sign the jars and request full permissions for this to happen.

is there a way to add two TP outbound channels for a single TP/agreement?One TP may have multiple channels but one agreement can have only one associated channel. You may consider using the broadcast feature of Oracle B2B here.

Please note that this blog was written for 10g but concept and implementation is same in 11g.
You need to create two TP profiles for same TP (you should use different name/identifiers for both) and then make them part of same group by adding identifier "Grouping" in both the profiles with same value. From middleware pass the header "Grouping:<value>" in action name or event name header. At runtime B2B will send the same message to both TP profiles.

Is there a way to open an .ai file inside of Photoshop CS4 with all its layers sitll intact? If so, how?

That command tries to write layers but most of the functions from Illustrator aren't available in Photoshop so it flattens those layers to preserve the image quality. I wouldn't bother with it, there's not much point in editing Illustrator layers in Photoshop anyway. If you have to bring .AI files into Photoshop then use File->Place to turn the .AI file into a Smart Object.

Can anyone tell me how to place a JPanel inside another JPanel? The first JPanel consists of three JPanels each consisting of a label&textfield and are placed using BoxLayout. The second JPanel is a big blank screen. So, i would like to put the first JPanel at the center of second JPanel(horizontally & vertically). The problem is that i don't have any other component. So,if i try to use FlowLayout, i am able to put it at the center(horizontally, not vertically) only on the top edge. I tried to use BoxLayout. But, i couldn't(as i don't have any other elements). I tried to create some blank elements. But, they are messing up the elements of my JPanel. Any cluesssssssss??????????

How do you Place rtf files from LibreOffice into InDesign CS6

I am new to InDesign CS6. I am having a problem Placing LibreOffice rtf files into InDesign.
I am using LibreOffice 4.3.2.2, Lotus WordPro, and Windows 7. I am saving my work in rtf files. Each page has two columns.
Placing rtf files from WordPro into InDesign works with no problems, but - I wonder just how long WordPro will continue to work with Windows 7 so I would like to switch to LibreOffice.
When I Place a rtf file that has two columns from LibreOffice into InDesign, I get a loaded text cursor, but nothing loads. I can take this same file, remove the columns so there is only one column, and it loads just as it should. Further, if I load the one column file into a Master set up for two columns, the file loads into two columns with all the proper formating.
Please guide me in how to Place the LibreOffice two column rtf files into InDesign.

How to place an indesign page with hyperlinks in another indesign file, such that the links work?

I have a page of text with hyperlinks in a master indesign file.
I place that file into another indesign file.
(It is like an html include file for a webpage.In this way i only have to update the file in one place.)
But when i export the indesign file to pdf, the hyperlinks fail to work.
They work in the original but not in the second.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

My apologies. My tests were done using URLs. They function in Acrobat regardless of their state in InDesign.
Aside to Bob: Since I had just made a PDF that worked, I mistook your "Since when" to mean since when won't a placed ID file work? I guess I was blind sided by the fact that the only hyperlinks I ever come into contact with are full URLs.
If Abbey's situation is as I envisioned -- that the placed files are more akin to smaller graphics within the layout of a page rather than discreet pages at all -- then is this not a insolvable problem given how InDesign works now?

Hi,
You can pass the image url as a href attribute=> file:///Users/me/Documents/my_pic.jpg directly within your xml. It just needs that you pass a local, static and valid url.
If you want to add image later once the xml is flowed and so target specific nodes and inject images, it's a bit more complex. If the node is not part of the layout, you may try to reach the XMLElement objet and such an attribute, then layout the element.

x.xmlAttributes.add("href","file:///Users/m/Documents/my_pic.jpg" );
If already placed, then you have to get the associated pageItem, then place your file into it.
pagItm.place ( File ( "/Users/m/Documents/my_pic.jpg" ) );

Sorry I think I didn't use the right terminology, somehow I want to include/link the file (not with menu item 'place') programmatically in my current open Indesign document, then I expect to see the filename in Link palette. I can do this with linking to a page item in doc but I don't want to assign it to a particular page item, rather I want to assign it to doc. Is any approach to do it?
