how do I move songs form one account to another account?

Only sequentially. Each time you switch accounts, it will overwite the existing content with the new content.  As AnaMusic says, you cannot sync one device with two AppleID accounts at the same time, or even with the same AppleID on different computers for the same type of content (you could, for example, sync music to one computer, and calendars to a different computer, but not music to two different computers, even if they're the same AppleID).
Also, if you want to *re-download* content directly form the iTunes store (assuming it's an iPod Touch), you can only change IDs every 90 days.

  • I have an old dell computer that my itunes is currently on, can i some how switch my itunes to a different computer?

i have an old dell computer that my itunes is currently on, can i some how switch my itunes to a different computer?
im planning on getting rid of this computer and getting a macbook, i still want to keeo all my songs in my library, what could i do?

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data. If you don't have any Apple devices then see HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

  • How can I share between 2 different accounts.  we have a clinic that serves pediatics and unfortunately, they set up two different accounts within our agency.

How can we share between two different accounts on the same iPad?  We have a therapy clinic with 2 devices and want to share apps. I did not set up the second one, but how can we fix this ?

Hi Rosdy, to get the most out of iCloud it is recommended that you use the same account between devices. Thus whenever you buy something on your phone it becomes accessible from your laptop regardless of whether your synced it over usb or not. *
For more information on iCloud usage please click here.
    * This feature requires that both devices be on the same WiFi network.

  • How to Convert iTunes Songs (Apple lossless audio file) to a MP3 for E-mail

How to Convert iTunes Songs (Apple lossless audio file) to a MP3 for E-mail?
My computer is Windows 7 and my Itunes software version is 1.0.2
    Many thanks in advance...

iTunes 1.0.2 is +at least+ eight years old.
The current version is 9.2, and it's free.
If that was a typo, and you're using something more current:
In the iTunes preferences, change the import settings to mp3.
Then select the songs you wish to convert.
From the "Advanced" menu, choose "Create mp3 version".
When done, change the import settings back to Apple Lossless.
    That's it.
BTW, this is the Logic Pro forum, which has absolutely nothing to do with iTunes.

  • How to transfer itunes library to different user account on mac

how do i transfer all my music, album art, play count, movies, apps, to a different user account on my mac?

Is there a way to have purchased songs located in the Music list on iTunes of two Users and three locations: 1. on the same iMac computer that has two users (we both share the same iTunes account) and 2. on a separate laptop. Two users, same iTunes account, three locations. Possible? I have tried Home Sharing and it will not let me drag the songs from one account to the other; either on the same computer, or to the laptop. I have transferred TV Shows from the laptop to the imac using an iPod. I thought the Home Sharing feature would eliminate this need to manually transfer songs, movies, TV shows etc... What am I missing here?

  • Sharing itunes songs between different use accounts

My wife, son and I each have our own user account on the same Windows XP computer. We each have our own itunes with the library under each of our individual "my music" areas of the hard drive. What I am looking for help on is....how can I share the music or if necessary copy the songs so that some of all of my son's itunes library can be copied to my ipod along with my own itunes library. Is there a way to share our songs.
    Thank you

    Hi, ... Jim ... I'm guessing.
Have a look at this article in the Apple Knowledge Base - which explains how to set iTunes up to share music across separate User Accounts - and let us know if it brings you any combination of joy and/or satisfaction.
Post back if you need any clarification.

    Hi,
I'm not sure you can Transfer it from one account to another...
You could try to GIFT it from your Son's account to your Daughters account..

  • Can you transfer iTunes songs between 2 accounts?

I've been sharing an iTunes account with my husband for years, and finally created my own when I bought a new iPhone. Can I transfer all my songs from my husband's iTunes to my new account somehow? If not, what's the workaround solution so that I can basically access both song libraries together on my new device? I also have an iPod that I'll want to do this with. Thx for any advice!

You cannot transfer them to another account.
You can put the songs on your computer and sync them to your device.

  • How can I transfer songs from another account to mine?

I used to share an account with my dad so all of my songs are on there. How do I get them to my account? Please help!

Purchases made under 1 Apple ID are permanently associated with that Apple ID and CANNOT be transferred to another Apple ID.  So if you want to keep those songs, you'll need to always have access to your dad's account.

  • How to share iTunes library between 2 accounts on 1 Mac

I want to share my library with my son on his account. Both accounts are on the same computer. What steps do I need to take to do this? Thank you in advance.

My wife and I share the same iTunes library on the same Mac but have separate user accounts.
    To do this:
    1. Make a folder called ‘Music’ in Users/Shared and move your iTunes library to this new folder.
    2. Ctrl + click on the ‘Music’ folder and select ‘Get Info’.
    3. Click on the padlock icon at the bottom of the ‘Get Info’ window and enter your password.
    4. Set the permissions as follows:
Your user name (Me) = Read & Write
    Wheel = Read & Write
    Everyone = Read & Write
    5. Click on the gear icon to the left of the padlock and choose ‘Apply to enclosed items’.
    6. Click OK.
    7. Close the ‘Get Info’ window.
    8. Log into each user account and create an alias to the new shared iTunes library in their User/Home/Music folder (the default location for the iTunes library).
Note: If an iTunes library already exists in the users ‘Music’ folder you will need to delete this first and don’t forget to backup just in case something goes wrong.
Each account will now be able to access the same shared music library.
One final thing which usually catches people out. You will need to tell iTunes to ‘Keep iTunes Music folder organised’ and ‘Copy files to iTunes Music Folder when adding to library’.
    To do this:
    1. Open iTunes
    2. From the iTunes menu, choose Preferences
    3. Click Advanced
    4. Select the ‘Keep iTunes Music folder organised’ option
    5. Select the ‘Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library file’ option
    6. Click OK
Note: This needs to be done in both user accounts.
The only slight down side of this method is that if I add any new music to the shared iTunes library in my account, my wife has access but she isn’t able to change the info (artist name, album, track number etc…) as I am the owner of that music (the files have standard permissions applied when added so I have Read & Write access but my wife has read only access). The same applies if my wife adds some music through her user account. This isn’t a problem for me as I’m the one who manages the library and adds music, my wife simply wants to be able to access it.
If you want to manually change the permissions so that both users can change info, simply navigate to the ‘iTunes Music’ folder which is located in Users/Shared/Music/iTunes/ and Change the permissions using the same method above, making sure you ‘Apply to enclosed items’.
This will need to be repeated each time any new music is added. If you want to know how to set things up so both users can change info on tracks without having to manually change permissions each time then this can be done, but it will require delving into ACL permissions.

  • How to convert iTunes songs into MIDI files?

I want to copy an iTunes song and convert the copied song into a MIDI file. How do I do this?

    Can't be done...
A MIDI file is a set of instuctions for making music. Play this note, then, for that long, on this particular instrument, with these settings. Multiplied by as many notes and instruments as are required. A MIDI file can be turned into music automatically. Turning music into the instructions to make it is, as far as I am aware, beyond the capabilities of current software.

  • How to record Itunes songs direct to a Stick instead of a CD, How to record Itunes songs direct to a Stick instead of a CD

I want to record itunes songs from my files direct to a Stick instead of a
CD.....How is this done ?"  Is there a command for it I can't find ???
Thanks for any help I get.....My new car has a USB input so if I can
put music on a USB stick, it will help with storage, etc....

Insert the stick into the USB port on your computer, and open it so it looks like a window.
Highlight the tracks you want in iTunes, and drag them to that window.
This procedure will put copies onto the stick without changing anything in your library.
(If you normally run iTunes in full-screen mode, make it smaller so that you can do the drag-n-drop.)
