  • How to play an mp4 file on iphone 6

    I have just bought an iPhone 6 that I want to use for watching movies when traveling - so I went for the 128GB to be able to store a few movies.
    But I am lost - I have followed the instructions to use iTunes to transfer a movie (mp4) file. But where is the file on the phone? And what app do I use to play it? And BTW, will the wonderful VLC app come back for ios 8?

    You have to sign out of the account.  If the phone is using find my iPhone, you must have the ID and password to remove the phone from the account and activate with your own.

  • Is there a way to play an mp4 file at the beginning of a published project only when the project is accessed from a specific site?

    Is there a way to play an mp4 file at the beginning of a published project only when the project is accessed from a specific site?
    A little background info. I use Captivate 7 and currently have over 100 projects that I maintain on a quarterly basis. I publish using the SWF format and upload the swf/htm files to a server where they are then accessed from a few locations (within our online documentation, in our software product, on two different websites). Many of the projects are linked so some will be viewed as a series and others viewed as a standalone video. Each video uses the same template and includes an intro and end slide. Now my organization wants to implement a new intro to all videos (those I publish and those from several groups across the organization). My current intros provide overview material for the specific video so the new intro, which is an animation with audio in mp4 format, would need to be placed at the start of each project. The issue is, the intro adds 9 seconds to every video and in many cases doesn’t add any value (say, if a user accesses the video from within our product or views the videos as a series). I’ve talked it over with my boss and we want to try to add the intro only to videos accessed from site X, not any other location. So now to my question. Is there a way to play an external mp4 file (intro) only when the published project is accessed from a specific site, therefore eliminating the need to update each project? Maybe there's a way to add a parameter or variable to the URL or the html code?
    Thanks in advance for your suggestions. Please let me know if you need additional information.

    AimeeLove,
    I have a solution for you.  You may have to modify the code a little bit based on how long the timeline animation is for your clock.  I based mine on 3 seconds to complete a minute hand sweep around the clock.
    Milliseconds for each point on the clock:
    12 = 0
    1 = 250
    2 = 500
    3 = 750
    4 = 1000
    5 = 1250
    6 = 1500
    7 = 1750
    8 = 2000
    9 = 2250
    10 = 2500
    11 = 2750
    In the mouseover section for 12 o' clock, put this code...
    myVar = setInterval(function(){
         var pos = sym.getPosition();
         if (pos > 0 && pos < 50){
              sym.stop(0);
              clearInterval(myVar);
    },10);
    When you point to the time, the setInterval method loops every 100th of a second and checks the current position of the timeline.  When the timeline reaches the range between 0 and 50 milliseconds (almost impossible to hit 1 specific point), the timeline will stop at 0.  Also, the clearInterval will be fired to stop the loop.
    In the mouseout section, put this...
    sym.play();
    clearInterval(myVar);
    It start the clock again, and it also clears the loop in case you mouseout before you reach the range.
    Make sure that myVar is a global variable so you can clear it from the mouseout section.
    Repeat this for each point on the clock.  To avoid potential conflicts, you may want to use my12, my1, my2, etc. instead of myVar.  I put the milliseconds at the top that you would use as the beginning of the range.  50 milliseconds should be enough to catch it.  So, for 5 o' clock, you would make your range between 1250 and 1300.
    Let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks!
    Fred

  • N80 Restarting "WSOD" when playing large mp4 files

    I love Anime's so I'm converting my "RMVB" or "AVI" video files from my pc to "MP4" so that i can watch in my N80.
    here is the setting when i convert the files to MP4:
    Video
    -resolution is "352x288 (CIF)"
    -frame rate(FPS) is set to "auto"
    -Bit rate is set to "512"
    Audio
    -im just setting it to "mono" and "128kbps"
    file size: is almost 110mb
    there are two situation that i observed before the WSOD is happening:
    1st situation:
    when i try to play the mp4 file using "imaging folder---> realplayer".
    2nd situation:
    when i try to play the mp4 file using "gallery--> images and videos".
    both situation makes my n80 restart A.K.A "WSOD" but the difference is it is restarting more often when im using the 1st situation that i couldnt enjoy what im watching.
    In the 2nd situation i can play up to two 30 mins MP4 videos and then on the 3rd video usually WSOD will appear.
    can someone tell me why this is happening? And this is only happening when im watching Video. Is this a firmware bug? pls help
    By the way i have the latest firmware for my n80IE
    V5.0719.0.2
    24-05-2007
    RM-92
    Nokia N80(12)
    thanks in advance

    hi scoobyman
    actually i already read that thread, and my settings are correct except for the "bitrate"... he said that the maximum recommended bitrate is "350 kbps"
    my setting for bitrate is "512kbps"
    i think that 512kbps is still ok in n80, because when i try to look at the properties of the "recorded video" of my n80. here are the properties:
    (ORIGINAL PROPERTIES OF RECORDED VIDEO ON N80)
    video
    -Bitrate is 574kbps
    -format mpeg4
    -size/resolution 352x288
    -frame rate is 15 fps
    sound
    -format mpeg4aac
    -bitrate 0kbps
    -sample rate is 16000hz
    -channel is mono
    as you can see, the recorded video file of n80 has bitrate of 574kbps
    here is my setting when im converting my PC file for my n80:
    (MY SETTING IN CONVERTING FILES TO MP4)
    video
    -Bitrate is 512kbps
    -format mpeg4
    -size/resolution 352x288
    -frame rate is 15 automatic
    sound
    -format mpeg4aac
    -bitrate 128kbps
    -sample rate is 44100hz
    -channel is mono
    i dont exactly know if theres a problem in my sound setting but i think the video
    settings are correct. and also according to el_loco
    "Audio: NB-AMR, WB-AMR or MPEG4 audio in mono or stereo, up to 128 kbps @ 44.1 KHz.
    Sample rate."
    that makes my sound setting also correct.
    i dont really know why this is happening, im suspecting 3 things here:
    -a bug in firmware
    -version of realplayer
    -or the converted file itself
    if its the converted file can you please recommend a good video converter for nokia.

  • How to play a wave file through the DAQ board?

    Hi there,
    we want to play a wave file that is saved on the harddrive via the DAQ board. Means we want to connect a amp to the analog output of the DAQ to amplify the sound and play it through a speaker.
    We couldn't find any VI that does that. Can anybody tell us how to play a wave file, or perhaps even send us a VI that can do that?
    Thanks a lot for your help
    Martin - Physical Optics Corporation

    Hi Martin,
    The only example that I could find on how to do this was using our
    older Traditional DAQ drivers version 6.9.3.  If you're using Traditional
    DAQ drivers, the vi can be found here.
    The example reads a 8-bit mono .wav file (an example .wav file is included in the .zip file) and writes it to the analog out of your DAQ card.  I've updated the
    example to work with our newer DAQmx drivers and attached it here.
    I hope this helps,
    Paul C.

  • Premiere Elements 4 audio won't play on mp4 files, codecs missing/unavailable on .mov files

    I dowlnloaded Premiere Elements 4, and when I import mp4 files, the video plays but the audio will not. I've also tried to import .mov files, and an error message pops up that says "Codec missing or unavailable." I downloaded the latest version of Quicktime, but that didn't change anything. The files will play back on the video camera, but I"m having trouble with them on my computer. The audio on the mp4 files plays in Quicktime, but not the video, and vice versa when I import them into Elements. Any suggestions?

    Does Quicktime Pro also edit .mov files on a PC?

    Premiere Elements 4 pretty much works with tape-based digital video. That would be video from a miniDV or HDV tape-based camcorder. It doesn't handle other formats very well.
    If you plan to edit MP4s, you definitely want to upgrade to a more current version of the program. If you can't install a current version of the program, you may need to address issues on your computer (such as an outdated operating system or underpowered hardware configuration).
    Short of that, you could buy Quicktime Pro from Apple for $29. It will edit MP4s, even on a PC platform.

  • TS3778 How do I open MP4 files with VLC?

    How do I open MP4 files? I have VLC open on my desktop but cannot manage.

    mushybutt wrote:
    I believe the proglem is with in Adobe CS5 and something just isnt working correctly and that maybe why it cant read or do anything with RAW files. I also noticed that Adobe's site says that it supports canon 70D CS2 files. my camera files are CR2, im not sure if maybe that might have something to do with my issue.
    Nothing to do with anything being faulty in CS5.
    The reason has already been given by tpolakov above: The 70D was first supported in Camera Raw 8.2 which is only compatible with CS6 and later. CS5 is not compatible with Camera Raw 8.2 so CS5 cannot read Raw files from the 70D. That's all there is to it.

    Thanks Tomsm13, I actually tried to convert the files to DNG but that doesnt work either. I used the latest compatable Adobe DNG converter and i get a message that it can not find any camera RAW files to convert.
    You select a folder containing CR2 files, not a CR2 file.
    See Camera Raw: How to use Adobe DNG Converter - YouTube

    Hi,
    You can't do that in a simple way. You need to have a port open in the firewall, and you need to have a server process on the remote machine.

  • How can I import MP4-files in FCPX?

    How can I import MP4-files in FCPX? Should i convert the files? Do you know good (free) software?
    Thanks!

    MPEG-4 isn't nearly enough information. There are many other factors that determine whether it will work in FCP. Many MPEG-4 files can be imported and optimized directly into the application.

  • Quicktime 7.2 will no longer play specfic mp4 files

    Quicktime 7.2 will no longer play specfic mp4 files that 7.1 and earlier versions play fine, But new mac running 10.4.10 will not let me install earlier version, these files where used and edited fine on similar spec mac running 10.4.9 (both intel)

    You did nothing wrong!
    Quicktime has never played wmv files natively. You ned to download and install Flip4Mac WMV Player from  http://www.telestream.net/flip4mac-wmv/overview.htm  (Windows Media Player for the Mac is no longer supported, even by Microsoft)

  • How can I turn subtitles on & off when playing an MP4 file?

    I bought an iPad Air two days ago and I am a total newcomer to the Apple community. Some of my Blu-ray and DVD collection has been ripped to MKV files and I have used Handbrake on my PC to create iPad-optimised MP4 conversions of some of these files. On one of these conversions I included an English subtitle track set as the default. On another, I also included an English subtitle track but did not click the Default option in Handbrake.
    Both these MP4 files have now been transferred to my iPad via iTunes. I can play these videos but I cannot find a way to suppress the default subtitles in one case or turn on the non-default subtitles in the other case. I have tried both the standard iPad 'Videos' app and the latest iPad version of VLC but cannot find an on/off switch for subtitles in either app. Am I missing something or do I need a different app?
    BTW, I was surprised to find that loading an MP4 file into my iPad's 'Films' library made it visible to the Videos app but not to VLC. A second copy of each video had to be transferred to the iPad specifically for the use of VLC, which seems like a pointless waste of the limited space on my 64GB iPad. Is this normal or have I misunderstood something?
    David

    I think I figured it out.
    Thanks anyway. p

  • How do I convert MP4 file to AVI or MOV using MacBook Pro (2010)

    I am 10.6.4 new user on a new MacBook Pro. This is my first Mac computer.
    I want to convert a MP4 video file to AVI or MOV file type. How would I do this on my new Mac? Documentation says I have Quicktime X, but I cannot find Quicktime X on my system. When I try to load Quicktime 7 Pro, my system says I have Quicktime X and cannot load Pro. Apple websites say Pro version will allow me to convert the MP4 files. Anyone have any experience or ideas on what I should do? How do I find Quicktime X? Will it do the conversion for me? Thanks

    Use MPEG Streamclip, or open the QuickTime Player from the /Applications/Utilities/ folder, installing this software if needed.
