How to play purchased tv shows when offline

I have purchased a few tv shows for the kids for road trip - when we are offline, I cannot find them under the Videos app & if you try to start itunes it says it is offline.  Where are the tv shows to watch them??

You purchased them?  They may not have been fully download but can re-download from cloud when away from home.  From itunes, go to purchases on the bottom of the screen.  Scroll through all purchases and click on the cloud icon to download.

  • How to play my itunes music when offline

Hello there, I just recently got my new ipad, but whenever i go out, I cant seem to play my movies or music in offline mode, which really annoys me, is there a way of playing music or movies without having net, would love to know how to.
    Kind Regards,
    Passive.

You either sync your iPad to your computer's iTunes library (which does not require you to remain connected to the internet because they're transferred right to the iPad from your computer), or you use iTunes Match (a paid service) which requires an internet connection, but only for items which have not yet been downloaded from iCloud.
If you're not using iTunes Match, disregard the difference.  I suspect that you don't use it, and what you're seeing are iTunes purchases which you have not synced from your computer's library -- if they're not installed on the iPad, they'll appear on the iPad with a cloud next to them and if you want to play them then they have to be downloaded, which of course requires an internet connection.
I find it best to always keep the computer's iTunes library current, and to sync the iPad to the library to keep it current too.  If you buy something from the computer, but have not yet synced it to the iPad, you can download it to the iPad (internet) if you want, or sync to the computer to load it (no internet).
If you are using iTunes Match, then not everything may be located on the iPad and thus you'll need an internet connection to download the item for playback.

    Hello swethachavali,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Make sure that you are authorizing your computer with the same Apple ID that you used to purchase those apps.  Please review the following article for more information:

  • Cannot play purchased tv shows

I have been unable to play purchased TV shows on iTunes. iTunes software is the most current, and the TV show was puchased from iTunes. The software will present the first screen to view the show, but will not automatically start. If I press the start button, then it will immediatley go back to the pasued state. I can open and play all episodes directly with quicktime, so it does not appear that the file is corrupted in any way. It also seems that if I play a movie that did not come from iTunes, and then play the TV show once the movie has run for a few seconds, then I have 1 shot at getting the TV show to play. This is happening on iTunes version 10.5.3 (3) and on the previous version as well.
    Thank you.

After being more though and reading a few other posts, I have identified the problem. The downloaded shows are HD, and I was trying to play them on my 30" Cinema Display. And it seems that is not possibe. That is annoying. I hope apple finds a way to get my apple cinema display to talk to my apple computer.
Problem solved. Now I am greatly annoyed.

When we go to play a purchased tv show it takes hours to play?

    measure your internet speed
    http://www.speedtest.net/
you can calulate yourself how long it should take to download the movie or tv show
if your internet speed is faster then you recieve the data then the issue must be in apples server

  • I get itunes can't find file when I tried to play a TV show I had purchased that was supposed to be in the cloud. There are several of these, including an entire season. In the store it shows that I purchased these shows when I checked them.

I get itunes can't find file when I tried to play a TV show I had purchased. I then checked and had this problem with an entire TV season I had purchesed. The shows were supposed to be in the cloud. I went to the itunes store, went to the tv shows and they showed that I had purchesed them. They do not show up when I click on purchesed in the store.

    Try this...
    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

I tried to deactivate and activate the computer and I log out from the store and log in again. Won't play.

  • Can't play purchased tv shows in iTunes because of Quicktime?

When I try to play a purchased tv show (from a season inwhich i have already been able to play episodes) it states that it can not play because this version of iTunes does not support QuickTime.  I have 11.1.5 So frustrating!

  • Itunes 11 cannot play purchased TV shows or Movies

I recently upgraded my PC to itunes 11.  Since the upgrade, I have been unable to play any purchased TV shows or Movies in itunes.  I use Home Share, and the videos will play on my iPad and iPhone, but will not play on my PC.  The video screen opens to a black screen, and the times shows it is playing, but the screen stays black, with no audio.
    What I have tried:
    1.  Rebooted several times, and restarted iTunes
    2.  Ensured there were no updates pending
    3.  In Quicktime, set video to Safe (GUI)  -No change
    4.  In iTunes, deauthorized and reauthorized my account.
Really a pain, and now I am holding off on upgrading other devices until I can make sure that this is resolved.  This is exactly why Apple needs to remove restrictions on their files, as all of my other Movies and TV shows that were no purchased from Apply play fine.

I have resolved this issue.  Here is the link to the solution:  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1277
I did not feel comfortable deleting the files, so I renamed the SC Info folder to oldSC Info, and then rebooted.  Once I went back into iTunes and played a TV Show, it asked me to autorize again, and then everything worked great.

  • How to keep display as Show when using Hide Show region with pagination?

We are trying to use a 'Hide Show' region with pagination. The problem is that if you 'Show' (ie expand) the region and then hit the link for the next page, the next page displays Hidden (ie collapsed). We want to keep the page display as 'show' when you move to the next set of records.
There is a fix in this forum for this issue in version 2.2 (Application Express) but we are on 2.0.0.00.49 (HTML DB). Does anyone know of a similar fix for HTML DB 2?
    Ver 2.2 fix is at:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/packaged_apps/packaged_apps.html#STICKY
    Thanks.
    David.

    Thanks for your reply.
Running the application install script via SQL Plus using FLOWS_020000 produces result:
NOT COMPATIBLE (Your export may contain calls not supported by your HTMLDB version.)
The wwv_flow_api package routines that are not available in our version appear to be:
    create_or_remove_file
    create_install
    create_install_script
Is there any way to handle these calls in other ways?
    Thanks
    David.

  • How do I retrieve TV SHOWS when I restore my computer

I bought some shows on Itunes but I am wondering how I will be able to get them back if I had to reinstall itunes? How do you find your shows if your system crashes?

    Hi treesitter!
You'll need to backup your media constantly. iTunes has a great feature for that. Click [here|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302392] to learn how to do it, using CD's or DVD's.
You can also use your iPod (if you have) to transfer your lost media.
    Hope this helps!

  • How do I purchase tv shows from itunes in Singapore where I am spending three months at a time when my apple id is registered in uk?

I have moved to Singapore with my husbands job but will only be here for 10 weeks at a time, spending 6 wks back in the uk.  My apple id is registered to uk but while I am in Singapore I would like to watch programmes that I am missing in the uk.  Unfortunately, when I try to purchase the programme I get a message saying I can't as my id is registered to uk.  How can I solve the problem of wanting to access itunes in the uk and singapore?  Would be grateful of any help.

Thanks, I did that but once you get on the singapore site, the only thing you can get are apps, blogs, and books. Do you know anything about buying gift certificates and if i bought these in singapore I could use them to view programmes here.
Thanks so much for your reply.

  • HT1933 iTunes shut down when trying to play purchased tv show

have purchased a tv programme on iTunes and everytime I try and play it a notice comes up saying "iTunes has stopped working" and then closes the programme. Can anyone help with this?

    many thanks.
    Fault Module Name: QuickTime.qts
    Fault Module Version: 7.66.71.0
Okay. let's first try uninstalling and reinstalling your QuickTime. We'll also take a few other explicit precautions, just in case. Best to print out a copy of these instructions, because at one stage of proceedings you won't be able to use a web browser.
    Preliminaries
Download and save a copy of the QuickTimeInstaller.exe file from the Apple Website. (Don't run the install on line and don't start the install just yet. get the installer that doesn't mention iTunes.)
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
    *Uninstall phase*
Head into your Uninstall a program control panel and uninstall QuickTime.
Next, we'll remove any leftover program files and folders.
In Computer, open your C drive.
Open the "Program Files (x86)" folder.
Right-click on the "QuickTime" folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
Go back into your C drive (or whichever drive your operating system is installed on).
    Open the "Windows" folder.
    Open the "SysWOW64" folder.
Right-click on the "QuickTime" file (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
Right-click on the "QuickTimeVR" file (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
    Empty your recycle bin.
    *Reinstall phase*
Restart the PC. After the PC restarts do not open any applications. Disconnect from your network and/or the internet. Now switch off all your security software (firewall, antivirus, antispyware).
Now start the reinstall by doubleclicking the QuickTimeInstaller.exe file you downloaded earlier.
Reenable all security software prior to reconnecting to the internet and/or your network.
Does the QuickTime reinstall seem to go through smoothly? If so, try launching iTunes again and trying to play one of the affected videos. Do you still get the same iTunes error, or are the files playing properly now?

  • How to export purchased tv shows from my iMac to Apple TV

    Hello All,
I have bought several TV shows from my Apple TV. I purchased them from the TV menu. Somehow the shows end up on my iTunes on my iMac.
My question thing is: I can see the tv shows on my iMac in iTunes, but I can't see them or get them to play on my TV set via Apple TV.
    What am I doing wrong.

How do I get "devices" to show up?
it will show up automatically once a device (iPod, TV) is connected, IIRC.
on the TV, go to settings, then computers. is your Mac showing with a little "link" symbol ?
are you being offered a choice to pair a library (not a shared library - you don't want that) ?

  • Can I play purchased TV shows from a back up disc in iTunes on my AppleTV?

I purchased an entire season of a TV show on iTunes, but it was taking up a lot of space on my computer so I backed it up onto several DVD discs (that are not able to play in a DVD player, but only in my iTunes)  When I get my appleTV will I be able to put the disc in my computer, have the episodes play in itunes, and then have them play through my appleTV since they're no longer in my library and only on a disc?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
They will only play if they are in your iTunes library.
it doesn't really matter where the files are so long as they are listed in iTunes available. Consider getting an external drive for your library.
