How to play .swf files stored in database?
Ok, i am pretty stuck with this...
Here is the problem:
I have upload form which upload file to the server folder and in the database insert path. That works fine. What is my problem? When i go to dreamweaver and make insert SWF and i give the path to that file in database, on my web page always stays:
Content on this page requires a newer version of Adobe Flash Player.
But i have installed that flash player... And when i change the path to file that is actualy stored in folder on the server, all plays nicely?
Is this the way to solve this problem? I want to display dinamicaly .swf files into my web page. Please help. Thank you.

How to play Swf files on the iPad??
Just as the title sated, how to play sef files on the iPad, since the iPad lack of flash support, and I don't find any program to handle with the swf files to playing on my iPad
Depending on what sites you are trying to access, you might find that some of them (probably more so if they are news sites) have their own apps in the App Store which might let you get some of the content that you want (and there is the built-in YouTube app). Also there are browsers such as Skyfire which 'work' on some sites - but judging by the reviews not all sites. If you want to play flash games then you are out of luck if you want to play on-line (unless something like the iSwiffter app work with it), but again some of them have app versions in the store.

How to play swf files in quicktime
I have recently upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard on my MBP. Before I could play swf files (with no associated html files) in Quicktime okay, but in Snow Leopard you cannot select the swf to play. Is there a plug in that I now need to play this?
Perian is definitely not the route. Frrom http://perian.org :
File formats: AVI, DIVX, FLV, MKV, GVI, VP6, and VFW
SWF is a special container made by Adobe Director and can be played back with streaming software, such as a Web page that has the Adobe Shockwave plugin. Open an SWF file in Safari or other browser after installing the latest Shockwave Player, free from Adobe. Some other software that is designed for streaming playback can play SWF media, but not a typical video player like QuickTime Player.
The contents of an SWF container might include an FLV video file or bitmap images either alone or with other data. Shockwave Player has 3D graphics and interaction options (can capture video, sound, mouse movements etc. from your system by default and send them to a remote server if you don't turn off these permissions).

How to play .swf files ?
I have some .swf files on my WIndows PC that I want to play.
The instructions on a website said to:
". . . play your flash files using the Adobe Standalone Flash
Player. For this you will first need to Download the Windows Flash
Player 9 Projector content debugger from the Adobe Site [Freeware].
There is NO installation needed. Just open the downloaded
.exe and open your .swf from within the Projector.
In order to associate all .swf files to open using the
Projector, right click the .swf file and "Open with" option. Once
there, choose the location of your Projector.exe and you are done."
This worked ONCE. The next time I logged on, the computer
could not play the files.
I'm thinking that this is because the programs referred to
were not running.
So - how do I (i) find the programs on my PC and then (ii)
create shortcuts so I can run them when I want ? I prefer not to
have them automatically load at startup.
Thank you.
BobFlash Player is a browser plugin. It's not designed to work as a standalone app for opening FLV or SWF. The standalone player EXE is a different animal.
Folks who don't own Flash Professional aren't going to have a standalone player.
For windows users, the Standalone player installer is in the archived players technote here:
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html
However, it's not an application. It's just an EXE. You have to launch it, then use File> Open to open the local SWF. You can also keep it on your desktop and drag/drop SWF content to it. -
How to play swf file in flex builder3?
Hi!!!!!! I have made a video player in Flex project ......In source of video display I have added the path of my swf file which is as follows:
<mx:VideoDisplay id="player" source="C:\Documents and Settings\sachin\Desktop\absolute-values.swf"
maintainAspectRatio="true"
width="450" height="300" autoPlay="false"
playheadUpdate="videoDisplay_playheadUpdate(event) ;"/>
But when I am clicking on Play button ,I am getting following error:
Error: 1000: Unable to make connection to server or to find FLV on server.
at mx.controls.videoClasses::VideoPlayer/play()[C:\autobuild\3.2.0\frameworks\projects\frame work\s rc\mx\controls\videoClasses\VideoPlayer.as:1327]
at mx.controls::VideoDisplay/play()[C:\autobuild\3.2.0\frameworks\projects\framework\s rc\mx\controls\VideoDisplay.as:1464]
at basicvideoplayer/___basicvideoplayer_Button1_click()[C:\Documents and Settings\sachin\video player\src\basicvideoplayer.mxml:44]
Can anyone help me in removing this error?Kindly give me a code to Play,Pause and stop my swf file.GRag and Mesh are correct. You cannot use Flex to access a file on a user's hard drive, which is where your path is pointing.
Instead, create a folder within your Flex project, under the "src" folder (example: src/assets/videos), and put the SWF there. Change the path in your code to point to the new location, like "assets/videos/myVideoFile.swf". Note that you don't refer to the src folder; it is the "root" of your application, and when you deploy all your files to your web server, you will be copying the folders you created to the root folder of your web server. So, all the paths will remain consistent. Flex will attempt to find "assets/videos/myVideoFile.swf", starting from the "root", or location, of the application itself. -

Flash CS6 can't open play SWF files without importing and destroying them, how can I get around this?
I'm just trying to preview an swf file in flash like I have with all previous versions.What if my SWF loads external content from an online server?
Not only does the current flash player prohibit such activity, it doesn't even pop open an error anymore saying there was an error connecting to an online source.
Normally, I would simply drag the SWF into Flash and all connections would go through. I could see traces, errors, and experience no issues.
Now I can't even do that. So what then? You have crippled a fundamental use of the program, but THANK GOD we have that deco brush that nobody asked for.
And for the record, the nature of my work benefits from not necessarily allowing the Flash Player to connect to online content. The error it pops up? That's simply another method of error checking that I require. Updating the Flash Player options is not an option.
Why would you even remove this key feature from Flash anyways? It's been there for years ... has the ratio of people importing SWFs (a rather useless gesture in an increasing OOP world) really outweighed the people using Flash as a testing environment that much? -
How to play SWF with AxShockwaveFlash control using a stream rather than a file path?
My WinForm app downloads and plays SWF files from my server. Currently, I have an object of type AxShockwaveFlash called "flash" display the movie. The code I use to load the SWF is:
flash.Movie = "http://example.com/file.swf"
The URL is generated dynamically by the module based on what the user wants to watch. I'd like to know how can I load the SWF using a memory stream rather than a file path? I have already configured my server to process the url and return the contents
of the file. What I don't know is how to read those contents within my WinForm application as a stream instead of the default which is to just provide a URL path to the movie.
For instance I think I can use the Net.HttpWebRequest object to make an HTTP request, and read the response contained in the resulting Net.HttpWebResponse into a stream, but I have no idea what I could do to that stream to feed it to AxShockwaveFlash
A very similar question was posed on
stackOverflow but I cannot make sense of the answer (I'm quite inexperienced).
I'd appreciate your help,
-PatrickHi Patrick,
Since this issue is mainly related to a control which belongs to third-party, I would recommend you consider posting this issue on the same site like the following thread because issues related to third-party are not supported.

How to play video files that are in Drop box on iPod?
How to play video files that are in Drop box on iPod?
I am going to have to write a technote about this, because it comes up a lot.
Flash Player itself is designed to play SWF content as a browser plugin or as an ActiveX control (when it's IE Windows).
There is a standalone Flash Player, but that's something Adobe provides directly as a feature of Flash CS4 Professional. It gets installed with Flash. We have made some standalone players available on http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html, but not all (and I don't know why. Looking into it)
There are numerous 3rd party standalone SWF players out there though. Some designed to just play video, others that play full SWF. I suggest a google search of 'play SWF standalone' and read the results.
On the Mac, consumers who want to play SWF content off their desktop can use the Adobe Media Player. You can import a local SWF (and FLV and other video) and play it in AMP. Get it here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/mediaplayer/
That's Mac only, doesn't work on Windows. -

Access forms File stored in database
Can any body help in this
Call_Form('i:\test\fmb\entgrp');
here entgrp is the FMX file stored in Server which is mapped to i:
1 Now if i want to use this call_form
to call the file stored in database what is the syntax
2 and How to invoke this file from desktop using f45run
3 The File Stored in Databse like this is fmb or fmx
Thanks in AdvanceWhen you save a Form to the database it is the FMB that you save and not the FMX. So you'll need to have the FMX on a file system and call it from there.
f45run recieves parameters such as userid=scott/tiger module=a.fmx
Check out the help to see the full list.
(P.S. Isn't it time you upgraded to a newer version of Forms?) -

How do you play the swf file in a html. I tried play a swf file with audio in my CDHtmlDialog class. I just use this:
Html code Play the SWF file.
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge">
<body>
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="200" height="100">
<param name="movie" value="filename.swf">
<param name="wmode" value="transparent">
<embed src="D:\html directory\swf filename.swf" width="400" height="500" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" />
</object>
</body>
</html>
Then my sample is able to play a SWF file with audio. Hope this helps some.
Best regards,
Shu Hu

Looking for some info on how to play music files on IPAD2
Hi and thanks for sharing. Trying to figure out how to play sound files such as wavs or mp3s on my ipad2 while I browse the internet or use my computer. I was trying to see if the music feature will play my songs or if I can import downloaded files from the net to itunes and if that will play in the background. I have an audio program that can send sound files to email and was trying to figure out how, similarly, to get this play in the background while I do things too. That and sound files downloaded from the internet. Do these go to iCloud when you download them? Can I import sounds into itunes with my iPad someway. (It's the only computer or device I own). Basically looking for a pathway to get music from my audio program that's sent to email, and clips I've DLed off sites on the internet, to play while I use the pad or browse the net. Thanks for your intel on the mission. Cheers!
The only way to get content into the Music app is via iTunes store downloads or syncing with itunes on a computer. You will need to find a third party media player such as VLC (whick integrates with DropBox and GoogleDrive, if that appeals to you).

OSX 10.5.2 and AR8.1.2 playing swf files
After applying the latest Apple updates to OSX 10.5.2 I find that I can no longer play
swf files from within a PDF file. I'm using AR8.1.2 with FP9,0,115,0 . Consider
the example:
http://www.amrita-cfd.org/4adobe/swf/swf.pdf
It contains an /Annot "Click to activate SWF!" that is supposed
to play the swf, but when I click it: a progress bar "buffering" appears
in the bottom right corner of the screen and then hangs. The swf file
is included as an attachment, shock-tube.swf, which can be
opened in an external viewer and so I don't think the swf file
is the problem.
I have the same problem with the PDF available at:
http://acrobat.timhuff.net/?p=92
where the swf is embedded using Acrobat,
rather than my homebrew approach.
I would very grateful if anyone could shed light
on this problem.
Thanks,
James QuirkJames,
I am seeing what you are seeing even on pdfs with swfs that I created
that previously worked. I guess we will need to file a bug report.
