Flash Player itself is designed to play SWF content as a browser plugin or as an ActiveX control (when it's IE Windows).
There is a standalone Flash Player, but that's something Adobe provides directly as a feature of Flash CS4 Professional. It gets installed with Flash. On the Mac, consumers who want to play SWF content off their desktop can use the Adobe Media Player. You can import a local SWF (and FLV and other video) and play it in AMP. Get it here:

If you want to play videos present in your pc on your phone, they must be converted to phone supported resolution.
You have to convert the high resolution videos to low resolution 320X240, MP4 format.
You can do so with Format Factory software for PC.

No, you still have the same problem. MPEG-4 files are non-editable. You really need to convert to an editable format and then bring that into FCP. MPEG Streamclip is going to be your best choice.

I wrote an application that loads a FLV into a ByteArray object at runtime. Now I want to play this FLV into a Video object. The problem I have is that the Video object won't accept anything else than a NetStream (or a Camera) as its source, and I can't find a way to set an in-memory FLV as a NetStream's source for playing. Adobe's Doc offers no help on the matter: does someone know how to proceed?

With RTFMP (Real Time Flash Messaging Protocol) you can send data between flash applications via NetStream in a P2P mode. You could send your FLV binary data to another Flash Appilcation which actually decodes and renders it. Flip side would be that
- you will require FMS on the sever side that sets up the P2P connection
- RTFMP advices against sending large amounts of data via this approach as it is typically used in communication applications like chat, games etc

i had this pb with my sis ipod, you have to convert the videos to put them on the ipod, here is the french tuto (never found it in english, and this always works).

you have to install avs video converter and then well im not going to translate everything but it explains you all the settings to put to have a video for you ipod. after it was converted like the website says open itunes and then drop the conveerted file to itunes and it will work (well it did with me)
