How to populate Navigation List

Hi
I need to populate a navigation list with values obtained from an RFC.
Can I do this in the same way as populating DDBK?
The DDBK is linked to a Context Value Attribute, but the Navigation List is linked to a Context Node. The context value attribute linked to the DDBK is "addBusUnit". The context node linked to the Navigation List is "TeamList" with value attribute "Member". How would I change the following code(from the DDBK) so that it will work with the Navigation List?
IWDAttributeInfo attinfoBus = wdContext.getNodeInfo().getAttribute("addBusUnit");
ISimpleTypeModifiable modinfoBus = attinfoBus.getModifiableSimpleType();
IModifiableSimpleValueSet valueSet = modinfoBus.getSVServices().getModifiableSimpleValueSet();
try
wdContext.currentZhr_360_Teamviewer_InputElement().modelObject().execute();
     for (int i = 0;     i < wdContext.nodeZteamviewers().size(); i++)
valueSet.put(wdContext.nodeZteamviewers().getZteamviewersElementAt(i).getZzpaycode(),
     wdContext.nodeZteamviewers().getZteamviewersElementAt(i).getZzfullname());
catch (WDDynamicRFCExecuteException d)
     manager.reportException(d.getMessage(), false);
thanks in advance
Anton

To populate a NavigationList, bind the "itemSource" property to a context node and bind the other "item*" attributes to attributes inside that node. The item source may be a recursive node.
Say the item source node is named "NavItems" with attributes "FullName" and "PayCode". Then you may use code like
try
  wdContext.currentZhr_360_Teamviewer_InputElement().modelObject().execute();
  wdContext.nodeNavItems().invalidate();
  for (int i = 0; i < wdContext.nodeZteamviewers().size(); i++)
    IZteamviewersElement e = wdContext.nodeZteamviewers().getZteamviewersElementAt(i);
    INavItemsElement navItem = wdContext.nodeNavItems().createNavItemsElement();
    wdContext.nodeNavItems().addElement(navItem);
    navItem.setPayCode(e.getZzpaycode());
    navItem.setFullName(e.getZzfullname());
catch (WDDynamicRFCExecuteException d)
  manager.reportException(d.getMessage(), false);
Bind NavigationList.itemText property to "FullName" to get  the full name displayed as item text.

  • How to populate a list box linked to selection in combo box?

    Hi All,
    I am a beginner in Xcelsius. I am having problem on how to populate a list box based on the selection on my combo box.
    I have a combo box and a list box.  The combo box value consist of Countries. Values are:
    Singapore
    Indonesia
    Thailand
    When I select, for i.e. Indonesia, I want to populate the list box with all the Postal Code of Indonesia. When I select Thailand, i want to do the same.
    Can anyone shed some lights on how to achieve this?
    My spreadsheet data is as follow
    Country         Postal Code
    Singapore     680123
    Singapore     680124
    Singapore     680125
    Indonesia     155123
    Indonesia     155124
    Indonesia     155125
    Indonesia     155126
    Thailand       333123
    Many Thanks,
    Harianto

    Hi,
    I am detailing the complete steps below:
    In the combobox select the entire range of Country while seeing the records from the Combobox, Xcelsius will automatically show the unique values in the selection.
    After that in the "Data Insertion" section for Combobox select the "Insertion Type" as "Filtered Rows" (please click on the question mark beside this option and it will show how the selection works).
    In the source select the postal code, in the destination select the range which will be used as a data source for the list box.
    This will resolve the concern. Please remember to select the question mark beside the "Insertion Type" option, it explains the working in specific details.
    Best of luck.

    Gourav

    my question is how is the county id value assigned hidden field to be saved to the database.
    secondly the reply states populate list(lstitem,grp_county) my question is which field are you populating here - the display value the country name or the county id to be saved in the database.
    most of the notes says you have to create a value twice. one for label and one for value, how is this applicable to be above case.
    i have a record group -
    SELECT site_abbrev,TO_CHAR(site_code)
    FROM sgr_site_list with 2 fields x_site not displayed but receives the site code and save to the database, the other x_site_abbrev displayed and receives site_abbrev but not saved to the database. this is the trigger i have written
    declare
    site_grp recordgroup := find_group('site_grp');
    i_list_item item := find_item('control.x_site_abbrev');
    status varchar2(80);
    begin
    status := populate_group(site_grp);
    CLEAR_LIST(i_list_item);
    POPULATE_LIST(i_list_item,site_grp);
    but i get the form error 40176 cannot create list ...
    can someone help please, the whole concepr is a bit confusing

    Hi again,
    Did the popup work ?
    For the list item , use the built-in add_list_element in a loop. Example : in the pre-form or when-new-form-instance trigger ,
    clear_list('block_name.list_item_name');
    for rec in (select column1,column2 from t_table order by 1 desc) loop
    ADD_LIST_ELEMENT('block_name.list_item_name', 1, rec.column1, rec.column2);
    end loop;
    See you

  • How to populate a list dynamically

    Being new b I am tasked on one project and I think I am making some progress on it. Currently I need to display some values in a list dynamically. The layout of the list is as follows:
    Here is your class schedule for week 05/13/2006:
    . Saturday
    . Sunday
    . Monday
    a. Econimics-101
    b. Maths-101
    . Tuesday
    . Wednesday
    . Thursday
    a. Arts-200
    . Friday
    Days are constant and only thing that will change is the course number. Any ideas or samples to do this? I have the code that pulls this information but don't know how to display it in a list form as shown above. Thanks

    You have not provided enough information.
    All I can say from what you have provided is:
    Iterate over the list. Print each day's name. If that day contains schedule data, print that as well.

  • How-To populate SELECT LIST default value from SQL Query

    OK, I've done my homework, and did not find my answer in the Forum, so here it is.
    I have a Page that displays fields from a SQL Query. The Page also has below that radiogroups, checkboxes, and Select Lists to allow the user to change values in the fields that are displayed at the top of the Region. I am able to pre-populate the radiogroups and checkboxes by performing a SELECT in the 'Source value or expression' of the Source area of the Page Item.
    However, I am unable to do the same for the Select List fields. Their default value ends up being the first value in the LOV ('-- None --' for NULL values). Source Used: Only when current value in session state is null. Source Type: SQL Query. Also, when I first go into the Page when running it, and check the Session State values, they are all null, so I don't understand why the field is not populated by the SQL Query statement as the radiogroups and checkboxes are.
    Any suggestions??? I've tried all sorts of combinations.

    Thank you for the suggestion.
    I had considered that, but cannot do so, because we are using Oracle Application Express more for development than for data containment.
    We have all our data in an Oracle 10.g DB which is separate from the OAEX server, and the OAEX app will reference that data via VIEWs and DB LINKs. We are doing so primarily as an added data security layer, where the data is housed separate from the app, in case the Web site is ever compromised. The data that can be viewed is restricted to a subset of the actual data that is available.
    Since the data is on a separate server, (I assume) we will not be able to set the source type to Database column, because (I asume) that is dependent upon the data being housed by the OAEX server.
    That still leaves me with having to populate the field with a SELECT statement from the Oracle DB. This unfortuneately is almost a show-stopper for me because of down-stream processing data requirements. Have not been able to come up with contingencies yet.

  • How to populate 'Select List' based on Radiogroup selection?

    Hi,
    I've a Radiogroup and on the selection of any of its item, I've to populate a 'Select List' from DB, what is the best way to do this?
    I'm on APEX 2.1.0.00.39, and the Radiogroup & Select List are part of a Form Region.
    To be honest, I don't even know whether to use Radiogroup with submit or redirect :-)
    Thanks for the help,
    -Hozy

    Hi,
    I have never worked on ver 2 of APEX so i dont know wheter these functionality will work or not..
    Option 1)
    1) Make the Radiogroup as Radiogroup(with submit)
    2) Create a select list with query something similar to
    select display_value d , return_value r from myTable where someColumn = :P1_MY_RADIO_BUTTON;
    Option 2) Use AJAX.. htmldb_Get()

  • How to populate List Item from the table in a form builder

    I want to know how to populate the List Item (pop up menu and combo box) from a table.
    Supposing I have a table Customer(cust_id,cust_name)
    and now I want to populate it in such a manner that I can update the data back to the database and also access the list on the form.

    This is the method i am using to populate a list.
    1- First of all you need to create a non-database list item for customer_name.
    2-create this procedure
    PROCEDURE populate_list_with_query
    --Populates the given list item with the specified query.
    (p_list_item in VARCHAR2
    ,p_query in VARCHAR2)
    IS
    /* Name the record group after the list item (no
    block prefix). */
    cst_rg_name constant VARCHAR2(30) :=
    GET_ITEM_PROPERTY(p_list_item,item_name);
    v_rg_id RECORDGROUP;
    BEGIN
    v_rg_id := FIND_GROUP(cst_rg_name);
    IF ID_NULL(v_rg_id) THEN
    v_rg_id := CREATE_GROUP_FROM_QUERY(cst_rg_name,p_query);
    END IF;
    IF POPULATE_GROUP(v_rg_id) = 0 THEN
    POPULATE_LIST(p_list_item,v_rg_id);
    /* Force display of first list element label
    in the list item. */
    COPY(GET_LIST_ELEMENT_VALUE(p_list_item,1),p_list_item);
    END IF;
    END populate_list_with_query;
    3- Create When-Create-Record on the block level and write this code
    BEGIN
    POPULATE_LIST_WITH_QUERY('bk1.customer_name',
    'SELECT customer_name, to_char(customer_id) FROM customer');
    END;
    In this example, the customer name is the (visible) list label and the customer ID is the (actual) list value
    i hope this will solve your problem ...

  • How to populate Java Beans List from the DB ?

    Hi,
    I have three tables called State,District and College.
    Assume, State table has fields statid,statename,statedescr
    District table has fields districtId,districtname,districtdescr and stateid
    College table has fields collegeid,collegename,collegedescr and districtid
    and all ids for the respective tables are primary keys .. and District and College tables have foriegn keys as expected...
    I want to send the whole information to the front end... I had designed three beans StateBean,DistrictBean and CollegeBean.. where all the three beans will have the related fiields and respective getter and setter methods like below
    StateBean -- stateid,stateName,stateDesc and DistrictBeanList
    DistrictBean -- districtid,districtName,districtDesc and CollegeBeanList
    CollegeBean -- collegeid,collegeName,collegeDesc
    I would like to have the JDBC code (any driver,any DB) so that I need to build one StateBeanList (collection of all the statebeans information) ... (like how to write the query to get the whole information from the DB and populate the same into one list..(Query or queries + resultset operation)
    I hope you understand my problem ...
    Please let me know if I have to be more clear...
    Thanks in Advance,
    Vidhya...

    Thanks Sachin,
    Atleast you understand something of my requirement..
    But Actually I want the logic like
    if the query is like
    select * from State
    while(rs.next) {
    StateBean object = new StateBean(); // StateBean
    object.yourcorrespondingsetter(rs.getString(1));
    object.yourcorrespondingsetter(rs.getString(2));
    object.yourcorrespondingsetter(rs.getString(3));
    object.setDistrictBeanList(districtbeanlistalreadypopulated); // how to populate the list of districtBeans list before ....
    listobject.add(object ); // object internally has to have districtBean list, so the district bean list has to be loaded with all the distrct Beans in which every DistrictBean will be loaded with list of CollegeBeans ... Which district belongs to which state and which college belongs which district is all there in the table information ...
    Now I want the query or queries to do that .... Can someone help me ?
    Please let me know if I have to be more clear...
    }

  • How to populate list in tree view  dynamically

    Hi,
    I am new to  Indesign Plugin creation.
    I want to create list in tree view dynamically.
    I tried wlistboxcomposite sdk sample in indesign cs4.
    I have some doubts in this.
    1. Can i write my own method in  WLBCmpTreeViewAdapter class because it's implements ListTreeViewAdapter
    If it's possible how can i call this method.
    2. In this example they populating static string in constructor like this
    WLBCmpTreeViewAdapter::WLBCmpTreeViewAdapter(IPMUnknown* boss):ListTreeViewAdapter(boss){
    K2Vector<PMString> lists;
    for (int32 i = 0; i< 12; i++){PMString name(kWLBCmpItemBaseKey);name.AppendNumber(i+1);name.Translate();lists.push_back(name);}
    InterfacePtr<IStringListData> iListData(this, IID_ISTRINGLISTDATA);}
    and this list is populating on loading time but my requirement is i have one button "get list" after clicking this button i have to populate the list, how can
    i achieve this.
    Pls do needful.
    Thanks
    Arun

    The TreeViewAdaptor is responsible for mapping your custom data to the tree view itself.  I almost always start by making it return some fixed number of objects with names "item 1" etc. That way you get the tree view working first.
    Then, after you get it laid out and displaying properly, you can worry about using real data.  At that point, you have your adaptor return the actual number of items in your list and each individual item.  Then you can populate your list when you push your button and then invalidate the IControlView of the tree view widget to cause it to redraw.  At that point your adaptor will get called and your data should appear.

  • How to populate values in List Box in Adobe form

    Hi,
    How to populate values in List box in adobe forms?
    Thanks
    RB

    if you want to display a fixed values in the dropdown you can use list box ui and can specify values there
    or if u want to display values from the context node of the webdynpro
    1. Drag and drop a Value Help Drop-down List element from the Web Dynpro Library tab to the Body Pages pane.
    2. Drag and drop your node from the Data View tab onto it. This action binds the layout element to the corresponding node.

  • How to populate list component via xml file?

    There is a TextArea component that should show the name and
    the description of the item selected in the list component. But I
    dont know how to populate list with external XML and what should be
    the coding in flash as well as what should be written in the XML.
    Please help.

    Here's an xml file listing a couple of brother comedy teams:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <team>
    <brothers>
    <Marx>
    <name>Groucho</name>
    <name>Chico</name>
    <name>Harpo</name>
    <name>Zeppo</name>
    <name>Gummo</name>
    </Marx>
    <Howard>
    <name>Moe</name>
    <name>Curly</name>
    <name>Shemp</name>
    </Howard>
    </brothers>
    </team>
    Open a new .fla and save it in the same folder as the .xml
    file. Place a List Component on the Stage and name it (in this
    case, "comicTeams_list"). In the first frame write the following
    ActionScript:
    //create XML object and load external xml file
    var broList:XML = new XML();
    broList.ignoreWhite = true;
    broList.onLoad = processList; // this is a function that will
    be written below
    broList.load("populateList.xml");
    function processList(success:Boolean):Void{
    if(success){
    loadList();
    }else{
    trace("Load failure");
    function loadList():Void{
    var broName:String;
    var listEntries =
    broList.firstChild.childNodes[0].childNodes[0].childNodes.length;
    for(var i:Number = 0;i<listEntries;i++){
    broName =
    broList.firstChild.childNodes[0].childNodes[0].childNodes
    .childNodes[0].nodeValue;
    trace(broName);
    comicTeams_list.addItem(broName);
    //to make something happen when you click on a name in the
    List, create a Listener and function
    var broListListener:Object = new Object();
    broListListener.change = someAction; //"someAction" is a
    function to be written shortly
    //add the Listener to the List
    comicTeams_list.addEventListener("change", broListListener);
    function someAction(evtObj:Object):Void{
    var pickedBrother:String = evtObj.target.selectedItem.label;
    //write actions here, referencing pickedBrother variable
    The names of the Marx Brothers will appear in the box.
    This is written in AS2. When you post a question, it's a good
    idea include which version of ActionScript you're using.
