How to populate the variable created in start routine to a field.

Hi
I have created a variable ZCUST in the Start routine and I have written some code to populate this value. Now there is a field in the update rules, Z_YTCUST. I want to assign the result of the variable created in start routine to this field. How can I go abt doin this? I have tried but for some reason the result shows 0.

Make sure the variable used in the start routine is a global variable. then assign the value u get it from the start routine in the update rule result field.

Start Routine Logic Updating Field in Target ODS

Hi,
I am creating a Start Routine to Update Field (date) from one ODS to another based on the Key Structure: Document Number, Line Item Number.
I am encountering a situation as follows:
Source
Doc Num 1 Line Item 10 Date 1/1/1
Target
Doc Num 1 Line Item 10 Date 1/1/1
DocNum 1 Line Item 20
DocNum 1 Line Item 30
DocNum 1 Line Item 40
The Routine I have now correctly updates line item 10 with the date 1/1/1.
I am trying to modify the code to only update the target ods if all of the line items are in the source. In this example Line Item 10 would not get updated since Line Items 20,30,40 are not in the Source ODS.
Has anyone encountered something like this.

If you have all the line items in target for which you want to do updates you can do this in transformation start routine.
Try this first hand logic :
1. Create a internal tables(say SOURCE_INTERNAL_TABLE and TARGET_INTERNAL_TABLE)
    with fields document number and another field integer say COUNTER
2. Read active table of source for all the document numbers in source package.
3. Update the SOURCE_INTERNAL_TABLE for all the document number with appropriate counts
    (All the records of same document number should be in same data package)
4. Update the TARGET_INTERNAL_TABLE by reading the target ODS as done for source.
5. LOOP AT SOURCE_PACKAGE
     if COUNTER in SOURCE_INTERNAL_TABLE and TARGET_INTERNAL_TABLE is not same
     then delete the record from source package itself
   END LOOP
6. Your next code
    (Please take care that you are not referring the deleted records otherwise it will through a dump)
If you don't have all the line items in target then you need to bring them somewhere in BI (document number and item number only sufficient with both as a key fields) so as to refer them in your start routine.
Please update me if anything is wrong or if any corrections in logic.

Don't mix GUI and JDBC together. Split them out into separate classes.
You have a good start, but you will need to loop through your resultset and also pull the ResultSet metaData for you column headings

How to populate the time component of a cube?

We have a question regarding how to populate the time component of a cube. Let me explain:
We are using OWB 10gR2. We have created a cube with several dimensions. We are now building the mapping to load the cube. The cube operator has two columns for every dimension (e.g., "customer" and "customer_id" for the "customer" dimension).
We understand that, in this case, "customer_id" stands for the dimension business key, so we create an arrow from the business key in the source table to the "customer_id" column in the cube operator.
So far so good. The mapping works all right, and the cube is loaded correctly.
Now we need to do the same for the time dimension. We have already created the time dimension and we have loaded it. We have also included it in the cube, so now we have two new columns in it: "time_day_code" and "time", both NUMBER data type.
We have the "sale_date" column (DATE data type), in the source system and, of course, now we want to populate the date column in the cube. We suppose that, somehow, we have to translate the "sale_date" field into the numeric column of the surrogate key of the time dimension. How should do we do this? I suppose that OWB must do the translation for us, just as it does for the other dimensions, but how? We have been looking into the manuals, and we have found no explanation on how to go about this.

You are right this should have been in the manuals, checked and there is only a brief mention (Using a Time Dimension in a Cube Mapping section)
The identifier format should have been documented for each level and will involve creating the formatted attribute for input to the cube operator's time dimension reference attribute.
The time dimension business keys are stored as follows;
Day Level - YYYYMMDD
Month Level - YYYYMM
Week Level - YYYYWW
Quarter - YYYYQ
Year - YYYY
If you have a source that has a SQL date datatype for example and want to construct the key for a cube's time dimension at the day level something like the following expression can be used to construct the time reference from a SQL date...
to_number(to_char( time_key, 'YYYYMMDD'))
The result of this expression can be used as input to the cube's time dimension attribute.

How to populate the attribute of the characteristics in Contract?

Hi Experts,
I need to populate the attribute "Truck Net Value" of the characteristics during the Contract creation with reference to Sales Order. Brief description of the scenerio:
We are using a variant material in the Sales Order. This material has different attributes which the end user need to populate during the SO creation. Now I have to create a Contract with reference to Sales Order. While creating the Contract with reference to Sales Order I want to populate the attribute "Truch Net Value" of the Sales Order with some value and update the Sales Order. So to update the attibute of the Sales Order during Contract Creation. Is there any function module that I can use for this purpose? I know where to write the code in the standard program? But I don't know how to populate the attibute?

Hi,
Welcome to SCN!!!
After the contract is created, you can call the BAPI BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE along with COMMIT to change the order texts. Alternatively you can use FMs SAVE_TEXT and COMMIT_TEXT to change any kind of texts.
You can check the parameters to be passed by placing the breakpoints in these FMs, change and save the text manually from VA02 in the sales order.

While creating material document in MIGO or MB01, i am inserting some data in TEXT ( Field in line item level ). This text data is disappearing , once mat doc is created.
how to populate the TEXT field in MIGO?Is there any cusomisation?it's urgent .

Hello Pabitra,
I had a similar issue in my Project.
Please verify if the SMOD enhancement MBCF0002 (EXIT_SAPMM07M_001) is active in your system.
If this is the case, verify from two angles:
a) Whether the Enhancement was accidentally activated - If yes, then De-activate the same
b) If there is some logic coded in the User Exit, but, the Text is somehow not determined...even the existing content in the text field (input to EXIT_SAPMM07M_001) will get vanished.
Hope that your problem will be resolved by this. Pls reward points.

hi ravi,
here is one example how to enhance.
Goto RSA6- select the 0Material.- Click on Enhance extract structure-> it will take u to the next screen there u need to create the field material group1. and append it to 0Material.
Goback to RSA6-- RC on 0material-- it will take you to customer version edit screen- here unchk the Hide and Field only known in exit options n save it.
Next Go back to RSA6-- 0material- click on Function enhancement it will take you to CMOD Screen( here we need to enter the project name and click create if not created on click display)
In the next screen we find the function exits Like EXIT_SAPLRSAP_001 FOR T DATA AND EXIT_SAPLRSAP_002 FRO Master Data,_003 for Text n _004 for Hierarchies.
select the appropriate function exit and double clikc on it. It will take you to Function builder screen.
D Click on defn of Include ZXRSAU01. it will take you to abap editor screen.
here u need to include the code for the enhanced fields n also write the code to populate the dat for that particular field.
save it and avtivate the code.

I am doing one enhancement in QM.I have added one custom screen to notification transaction ( QM01/QM02/QM03) transaction tab strip control using the enhancement QQMA0001.The Details of the calling and called screens as shown bellow
The Calling screen: SAPLIQS0
Screen Number: 7790
Screen Area :USER0001
Called Screen: SAPLXQQM
Screen Number: 0101
I have developed the Custom Screen in screen 0101 and called in PBO of program SAPLIQS0 7790 screen.
The Screen in calling perfectly .The Custom screen having different fields like Raw cost, Intermediate cost, Finished cost, SCAR Cost and Sales Order Cost Etc... These fields are out put filed types. No input for these screens.. I have few doubts regarding this

As your screen fields should be global variables in SAPLXQQM, you may initialize them by implementing function module EXIT_SAPMIWO0_008 which also belongs to SAPLXQQM (Customer Exit: Transfer Notification Data to User Screen)

Creating a start routine in the transfer rule

I'VE CREATE a start routine, seel bleow. Now I want to get at one of the fieds for a Key figure.    How do i do that?    do I need to add it to the transfer structure

How to use the variables used in the message mapping

In the message mapping we can declare variables in the JAVA section , these variables could be used across the mapping .
I have tried using it but I am unable to retrieve the values assigned to the variables in one UDF into the another UDF .
Please guide me how to use the variables declared in the JAVA section in the message mapping .

Anita,
I have worked on the Global variables and i found no issues. Make sure that the variable is declared in the Declaration Section and then initlaized in the Initialization section.
If you declare a variable in the Declaration Section ,
int i;
then in any udf you can use if directly. No need to re declare the variable in the UDF. If you do this, then it becomes a local variable.

How to clear the variable value in session store?

I'll try to build form for search. There are LOV and
search button on form. When user don't select anything then push
search button, I'd like the report to show query everything. I
mean the report will show like condition where id like '%'.
And I send variable between form to report by using session
store.
I select nothing in LOV but value that return by LOV is
not null. It's in stead of old value of LOV.
Please tell me.. How to clear the variable value in
session store? I'd like to set it to null. If you have greater
way to do like this, please tell me.
