How to post LAN links?

I need to know hot to write/post in a mail a link to a specific document in my LAN. I don't want to attach the document to each copy of the message. My LAN is in Windows Server, I'm the only happy worker! Please, help to maintain this situation.

You're going to have to give more information on the type of File server that is running, its protocol, etc. because what Jim posted in the way to do it.
When I post links, sometimes they become hyperlinks and other times they do not. Also, sometimes, Windows will delete the links from the email because they consider them unsafe.

  • How to post a link (URL) in "Apple Discussions"

    You can shorten your links (URLs) by using HTML coding.
    This is preferable when the URL is very long. Posting the entire URL can extend the width of a post beyond the range of many computer screens. This can make a post difficult to read, as it necessitates sideways scrolling.
    This is the format to use:
    <a href="Insert URL Here">Type Title Here</a>
    The quotation marks are necessary.
    This link Search Apple Support, would be formatted like this:
    <a href="http://search.info.apple.com/">Search Apple Support</a>
    The title can be anything you choose.
    To avoid typos, it is helpful to go to the web page you are linking to, and copy & paste the URL from the address bar of your browser.
    Some helpful Utilities:
    level4 "Panther only" at present

    I don't think sapscripts does  have the  option for  entering  hyperlinks.

    How share image and link in same post  ?

    You can
    share a link and share an image (as an image or
    as a file), but logically speaking all of the data types shared are considered different views of the same thing. The share target will pull out the best format for its target and leave the rest. The share source cannot tell the target how to interpret
    the data.
    See
    Choosing data formats and file types.
    If you want to combine multiple data types in one view then you can combine them in an HTML page. See

    In Firefox, this link does not work. How to do it right?

    If you have two sites, even if they are well connected, you can seperate them as long as you can divide them by ip sub-net range.  There are many reasons why you might need to do this and creating a seperate site is just fine.  As long as the client
    in the new site falls within the site's ip range the dcLocator process will contact a DC within its site.  If you don't fuly understand the dcLocator process read the url below to help.

  • 7613 Router - Packet-loss on a LAN link between 6704 and ES 2T

    Hi
    After connecting two ends of a 10 Gig LAN Link from a 6704 on one 7613 to a ES 2T on another 7613 , then we have packet loss on that link beyond a specific traffic limit !
    Please note that after changing both boards to ES 2T we have no problem and LAN/WAN mode is also checked .

    Ash wrote:
    It's dropping pings, you can see that clearly from the above. It's intermittent. Whilst a drop in pings isn't the definitive sign of packetloss, the way in which it's doing it is.
    If it was going to drop it through flooding it simply wouldn't respond at all after the first few. It it was configured to not respond, it simply wouldn't.
    Pings to any external source - (not to the device itself) are also failing intermittently. This indicates that a device along the traffic path is having issues.
    I can screenshot a nice disconnection plug in games, but there's no real need.
    The evidence is there if you know how to interpret it. This needs to be investigated.
    A question for you then!
    What happens when your router gets repeated pings from the same source?
    Does it not block them as a possible DDOS attack?
    The more gamers try this tactic the worse their traces will get & it will more than likely also affect other gamers interested in low latency through these same nodes!
    Check the timings between the true source & destination by all means but please do not
    unnecessarily stress individual points on the main ISP network backbones!

  • How do I create linked LOVs in a JSP

    We are attempting to create a list of values (LOV) for a group of categories on a jsp page. We would like the LOV to be populated with the category names. Next to the category LOV we would like to have a link “get subcategories” that when clicked would return to the same jsp page, set the value of the LOV to the category selected, and populate a second LOV with sub-category names for the selected category.
    We have created an sql-only View Object (VO) for the categories and linked it to an sql-only VO for the subcategories (in a master-detail relationship) and added the VOs to an app module. We have tested the link between the two VOs with successful results.
    We would like to know how to create a linked pair of LOVs on a jsp page. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    Les,
    If I understand correctly, you can do this fairly simply.
    First create datasources:
    <jbo:DataSource name="dsCategories" ...
    <jbo:DataSource name="dsSubCategories" ...
    <% // add a where clause to SubCategories based on the parameter "CategoryNumber"
    String categoryNumber = params.getParameter("CategoryNumber");
    // Make sure to default to something if the parameter is null or you'll get an error
    if (categoryNumber == null)
    categoryNumber = "1";
    dsSubCategories.getRowSet().setWhereClauseParam(0, categoryNumber);
    // execute the query on dsSubCategories to ensure that the where clause reflects on this page
    dsSubCategories.getRowSet().executeQuery();
    Create a form with your drop down lists.
    1. I would create a <form> that posts to the same page.
    2. Add a <jbo:FormEvent> tag with a custom event name like "getSubcategories".
    3. Create a LOV that isn't connected to the database:
    <jbo:InputSelect multiple="false" displaydatasource="dsCategories" displaydataitem="CategoryName" displayvaluedataitem="CategoryNumber" ></jbo:InputSelect>
    4. Create a second LOV that also isn't connected to a datasource. It would look like this:
    <jbo:InputSelect multiple="false" displaydatasource="dsSubCategories" displaydataitem="SubCategoryName" displayvaluedataitem="SubCategoryNumber" ></jbo:InputSelect>
    5. Add a submit button
    That should work. Some things to note:
    1. This probably won't track your previously selected options. I don't know if you can do that with this interface.
    2. I'd add some javascript to postback when a new list item is selected.
    Based on these points I would code the select list by hand like this:
    <select name="CategoryNumber" size="1" onchange="this.form.submit()">
    <% String curCatNumber="";
    String CatNumber = params.getParameter("CategoryNumber");
    if (CatNumber == null)
    CatNumber = "1";
    <jbo:RowsetIterate datasource="dsCategories" >
    <jbo:Row id="rowCategory" datasource="dsCategories" action="active" >
    <% curCatNumber = ((oracle.jbo.domain.Number)rowCategory.getAttribute("Category")).toString();%>
    <option value="<%=curParlimentId%>"
    <% if (CatNumber.equals(curCatNumber)) { %>selected<% } %>>
    <jbo:ShowValue datasource="dsCategories" dataitem="CategoryName" ></jbo:ShowValue>
    </option>
    </jbo:Row>
    </jbo:RowsetIterate>
    </select>
    The second would be similar.
    Hope this answered your question!

Apple encourages you to first seek a solution at Apple Support. The following links are provided as is, with no guarantee of the effectiveness or reliability of the information. In the Discussions Feedback board you'll see this quote:
    If your question concerns a hardware or software technical issue, please do not post in this forum — instead, go to the Apple Discussions Homepage, select an appropriate product category and follow the links until you reach the correct forum for your post, then click the Post New Topic link.
    It appears that many still miss this advice as they go ahead and ask in the Discussions feedback page how to post a new topic. This advice is as clear as can be, though some may not understand what the terms are in this quote. To clarify Apple Discussions is organized into the following elements:
    Apple Discussions Homepage
    - Categories of Topics
    - - Individual _Topic Forums_
    - - - Individual _Topic Threads_
    When you enter a Category you will see _Topic Threads_ but no Post New Topic link. The reason for this is that all the threads in each forum are combined beneath the individual Forum links. If you wish to post a new topic in any specific Forum, you have to navigate to the Forum first to post a new topic in that Forum. Don't let the preponderance of views or responders make you think you need to post a "me too". In fact this makes it harder on the original poster to determine what is the cause of their problem. It is better to post your own topic, so you can get more focussed attention, and a wider audience who can help you. If you have a reply that might lead to a solution for the original poster, by all means reply. Otherwise you just contribute to the length of the thread, and don't really help in finding a solution.
    An example of a Category: iMac
    An example of a Forum: Using your iMac G5

  • How to create a link to Bar Graph......?

    Hi,
    Can any body tell me how to create a link to a bar graph such that on clicking, it should navigate to specified page in the same application or different application.
    I've written the following Region Source for creating link on Graph. Correct if it is wrong.
    function onDynamicaBarGraphClick(e)
    // Read point name
         name=e.data.Name;
    // Read point value
         value=e.data.YValue;
    // You can add onclick even here using the values name and value
    link='f?p=&APP_ID.:4:'||:app_session||'::::::';
    Thanks in Advance....

  • How To:  Create a link to gatewayed content (e.g. in email)

    I apologize if this is too basic of a question but I can't find any results after looking for several hours.
    I would like to generate a URL in an email that points to the portal and a specific portlet in the portal. The portlet has limited access rights so the URL should cause the portal to go through the login page and then redirect to the portlet. Can anyone point me to the documentation that describes this or give me an example?
    Thanks in advance!
    Mike

    Using the PTARGS might also solve another difficulty I've encountered passing (dynamic) querystring parms to portlets through the gateway. Your example seems to work great for portlets, but now trying to access a Community page containing a portlet to retain branding elements.
    For portal pages, should the ObjectID be the pageID (i.e PageID=0 for the default page) or is the ObjectID for a community page some other value (where in PlumDB is this stored) ? I changed the ClassIDView to 514 which should indicate a Community Page but it's still not loading my page. Adding to my confusion, the PTCOMMPAGES table stores the PageID as a negative value.
    Here's my example:
    http://portalserver/portal/server.pt/gateway/PTARGS_0_0_0_201_0_514/http%3B/portletserver/ApplicationName/default.aspx?querystring=value
    Any thoughts?
    re: How To: Create a link to gatewayed content (e.g. in email) Posted by Mike Beniston 5/5/05 9:45:40 AM It turned out that I was pretty close.
    If anyone else is interested, here is one way that works.
    The PTARGS are _0_userid(leave at 0)_objectid(of portlet)_communityID(if any)_0_ClassIDView(43 = view for portlet)
    "http://portalserver/portal/server.pt/gateway/PTARGS_0_0_348_208_0_43/http://portletserver/ApplicationName/pagename?querystring arguments.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to add sublink in the top navigation bar.
    There is an article about this issue, it contains the steps about how to create a link with sublink in the top navigation bar, you can have a look at it.
