How to post to a blog via e-mail?

Hi, is it possible to post to the blog via e-mail? I am referring to the blog that comes with 10.5.

Currently there's no way to do this out-of-the-box, although groups which have a mailing list will archive all of that mail content online.
There may be tools out there to do this, as we support Meta-weblog and Atom posting APIs.

  • How can I receive Apple alert via iCloud mail system?

Currently my login ID is the same as my Gmail address.
So, my Apple alert (that lets me know about my account info change or new login) comes to my Gmail inbox.
However, I want to receive these stuff via iCloud mail so that I can collect my Apple alert in my iCloud mailbox.
    How can I do this?
I'm now using my iCloud mail address with my account of which name is my Gmail address.
Or, if possible, I want to use only my iCloud mail address as my main ID and totally get rid of my Gmail address from my Apple account.
    Plz give me a tip.
    Have a nice day.

If you don't know your ID, you can try to find it as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5625.  If you don’t know your password you can reset the password as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2617.

  • How do i print pics sent via e-mail on 8 1/2 x 11 versus photo paper

I sent a pic via e-mail and my printer keeps telling me to add photo paper??  I just want it to print out on regular paper... 8 1/2 x 11.  Are there settings to make this happen automatically?

    Hello tj211,
ePrint settings can be changed by logging into ePrintCenter, and selecting print options on the left side of the ePrint panel. Here you will find settings for color options and paper size. Print options only apply to documents not photos. Photo files will always be printed in 4x6”.

One of the new features with 2.2 is "share location via email".
    How do I do this?

First, make sure you see the location you want to share on the map.
Second, drop a pin and move it to the exact location you want to share.
Third, click the arrow to see the information associated with the dropped pin.
Finally, click the Share location in the dropped pin information pane and a new email will be created with a Google Map link.

  • Blogging via iPhone

    Morning.
I want to establish a blog on my iWeb made website. Afterwards I want to write new entries into this blog via iPhone cause I am away and have no access to a computer but only to the iphone.
How can I feed my blog via the iPhone?
I found an App to feed an Wordpress made blog via iPhone; but I did not found an App for iWeb made blogs.
    Kind regards, Friedrich

The iWeb blog cannot be accessed thru a browser, only thru iWeb on a Mac and then uploaded. If you want a blog that you can post to via your iPhone the use Wordpress and its app or any other online blog site that you can access thru your iPhone.
Once you get your blog setup you can embed it in one of your iWeb pages using iFrame code like in this demo page: Embed a Site Within an iWeb Page.
That way visitor can visit your blog without having to leave your site.

  • I was typing a post on my blog and Fire Fox crashed. I lost my data. How can I get it back?

Fire Fox has been crashing the last few days. Tonight, I was typing an article post for my blog and it crashed again. I was just finishing the article (900 words). The open sites usually come back up and they all did except the blog post site. I lost all my article post. I worked 3.75 hours on this. How can I get it back?

    Did you try:
History menu > Restore Previous Session
I'm not sure that's still available if you've been browsing around again for a while.
''Actually, you used session restore, so that's the same thing.''
I'm not sure what blog platform you use, but I've noticed that WordPress auto-saves for me at regular intervals. If yours doesn't do that, you should definitely see about getting it set up.

  • How do I move my blog posts from iWeb to Wordpress?

I want to move all my blog posts from iWeb to Wordpress. Is that possible and how?

Depending on how many posts you have, it may be best to copy and paste them into Wordpress. I don't know for sure, but I dought if there is any process that will do that automatically for you. I would have your iWeb blog (edit Mode) window open and then Create a new blog in Wordpress. Copy the iWeb title/paste into Wordpress - Copy the iWeb blog text/paste into Wordpress. It should go fast once you get the first one done because you'll do the same for all.  Hope that helps.

  • How do you choose which blog to post video to?

we have two group blogs and need the students to be able to post video from podcast capture to both of them but need to be able to choose which blog. Any ideas?

    Hi
In fact you don't...Pcp has a property named Group Short Name that define where a workflow posts (you find it in groupblog task) using this means you can post in only one podcasts blog.
They are multiples ways to "automatize" or make it easier:
    1. Duplicate workflows: means you have multiple workflows doing same encodings, etc except groupblog, which posts, where you put $$Group 1$$ (previously defined and valued whith the short name of the group 1, group1 maybe,as a custom properties in pcp admin
    2. Web controller can handle additionnal userRequirements, one could be name group and called still in groupblog by $$group$$ but users will have to type correctly their group name..source of errors to my opinion..
    3. Post to user blogs: see there http://podcastproducer.org/forums/custom-workflows/218313196
    4. Hotfolder: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1780728&tstart=0
(5). The best to me but don't exist yet: a dropdown list of groups a user belongs to in podcast capture and web controller to choose the destination group
If i missed one or more, i'll be happy to hear about..!

  • HOW TO: Post a SQL statement tuning request - template posting

This post is not a question, but similar to Rob van Wijk's "When your query takes too long ..." post should help to improve the quality of the requests for SQL statement tuning here on OTN.
On the OTN forum very often tuning requests about single SQL statements are posted, but the information provided is rather limited, and therefore it's not that simple to provide a meaningful advice. Instead of writing the same requests for additional information over and over again I thought I put together a post that describes how a "useful" post for such a request should look like and what information it should cover.
I've also prepared very detailed step-by-step instructions how to obtain that information on my blog, which can be used to easily gather the required information. It also covers again the details how to post the information properly here, in particular how to use the \ tag to preserve formatting and get a fixed font output:
    http://oracle-randolf.blogspot.com/2009/02/basic-sql-statement-performance.html
So again: This post here describes how a "useful" post should look like and what information it ideally covers. The blog post explains in detail how to obtain that information.
In the future, rather than requesting the same additional information and explaining how to obtain it, I'll simply refer to this HOW TO post and the corresponding blog post which describes in detail how to get that information.
    *Very important:*
Use the \ tag to enclose any output that should have its formatting preserved as shown below.
So if you want to use fixed font formatting that preserves the spaces etc., do the following:
    \   This preserves formatting
\And it will look like this:
       This preserves formatting
. . .Your post should cover the following information:
    1. The SQL and a short description of its purpose
    2. The version of your database with 4-digits (e.g. 10.2.0.4)
    3. Optimizer related parameters
    4. The TIMING and AUTOTRACE output
    5. The EXPLAIN PLAN output
    6. The TKPROF output snippet that corresponds to your statement
    7. If you're on 10g or later, the DBMS_XPLAN.DISPLAY_CURSOR output
The above mentioned blog post describes in detail how to obtain that information.
Your post should have a meaningful subject, e.g. "SQL statement tuning request", and the message body should look similar to the following:
*-- Start of template body --*

I'm sure that if you follow these instructions and obtain the information described, post them using a proper formatting (don't forget about the \ tag) you'll receive meaningful advice very soon.
So, just to make sure you didn't miss this point:Use proper formatting!
If you think I missed something important in this sample post let me know so that I can improve it.

PS: Just noticed that it actually sometimes doesn't show the proper formatting although the code tags are there. Changing to the \ tag helped in this case, but it seems to be odd.

  • Can't post comments to Blog after MobileMe push

My blog will not allow anyone to post comments now, since the MobileMe migration. When you click "add comment" it brings up the MobileMe migration page with info on MobileMe. I believe that I have set up everything necessary on my computer for MobileMe, so how do I get the blog to quit directing to this page? I have two autistic children, and I use this blog for their therapists to post comments about their daily therapy sessions - I really need to get this fixed QUICK! Also, when publishing the blog, I get an error message at the very end - "error publishing" - but everything is visible like it published successfully. Thanks for any help.

It is not just the Blogs, my Photos pages won't allow comments either. I just started with iWeb a couple of weeks ago and it took me a while to discover that the comments feature was not working. Made me feel kind of foolish, I had asked some friends to check out my site and then was a little perturbed that they hadn't posted any comments.
I would hate to try setting up on another site as I like the basic simplicity of iWeb.
Does anybody know of anything else as easy to use? I'm in the trial period and if this doesn't get fixed I definitely will not be continuing.

  • How to change maintenance powershell script via GPO?

Per suggestion reposted from here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/6eece9d6-a524-48aa-8e64-7554f0ec9b31/how-to-change-maintenance-powershell-script-via-gpo?forum=winserverGP
    Posted at http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-desktop/desktop-shortcuts-to-items-on-network-drives/94eddb27-342b-40fc-9ad4-677ff4ee8ebe?page=9&tm=1403700614489 originally.
There is a very annoying "feature" in Windows 7 called BrokenShortcuts.ps1 which is being called out weekly via maintenance task and if it finds more than 4 "broken" network shortcuts it removes them all. So it means if a user at this
moment is disconnected from the network he will lose all links to shares, network applications sitting on his desktop. Funny that there was no such script on Vista and i don't see this on Win8. On the post i have attached one user suggested to edit this script
and change 4 to 500 or whatever high number. That's fine for one time fix. But i need to do this for 200+ users. This file cannot be simply replaced by a script, so i'm wondering is there any way to do it via GPO?
I have already tried various startup scripts, but i'm not sure which user to put into commands.
I need to run this on startup:
    takeown /F C:\Windows\diagnostics\scheduled\Maintenance\TS_BrokenShortcuts.ps1
    icacls c:\windows\diagnostics\scheduled\maintenance\TS_BrokenShortcuts.ps1 /grant "some user":F
    copy \\share\folder$\TS_BrokenShortcuts.ps1 C:\Windows\diagnostics\scheduled\Maintenance\ /Y

You need to take time to study how Windows does these things.  You can control them with GP which is what you asked.  The article shows you how to disable elements of the tasks.  Each task controls a script.  If you disable the task the
script that deletes shortcuts will be stopped. Other maintenance tasks will continue to run.
Most of your problem is that you seem to want someone to provide a magical solution.  In technology it is necessary to fully research your issues until you understand all aspects.  After fully studying the issue you should understand the possible
    solutions if they exist.
You claim to have deployed the patch that Microsoft released to fix the issue.  You claim it didn't work.  If that is the case then you need to call MS and \p[en a support incident.  If  Microsoft determines that you are right about the
patch not working you will not be charged for the call.
I know that learning how to support technology is hard and frustrating for newcomers.  In time, by using these incidents to learn, you will become a seasoned technician and all of this will seem trivial.  Until then we can only suggest that you
do things that most of us are familiar with.  We cannot fix your network for you.
I think you haven't really posted in the GP forum but posted a question about GP in the server forum.  Try posting in the GP forum.

  • How to upload photos on Facebook "via iOS"

Who do I upload photos to Facebook and make it say "via iOS"?
It seems all my friends when they post photos it says "via iOS to the photo album iOS photos"
How do I make my iPhone4s do this?

If you are syncing photos from folders on your computer then they should be sorted by capture date order (though some people have said that isn't happening). If you want to change the order then you if you are using a Mac you can use iPhoto or Aperture, if you are syncing from folders then you'll need to change the capture dates of the photos : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4221

    - Choose image from list
    - Click share
    - And simply post it to my facebook wall.
I know it can be done via sending image via e-mail to specific address. But it's reall ugly workaround. To use it I'd have to setup mail inbox on phone. Then I' d have to store all my messages on memory card, since I have too many emails. But then whole messaging application works very f..in slow!
So please, anyone, is there humane way to share images to facebook from Nokia E52?
