How to prepare a movie for sharing in Media Browser?

I'm having difficulty making a DVD. After creating the movie, I have tried sharing it to iDVD and Media Browser, but both times after rendering it said it wasn't able to publish. The movie shows up in my Media Browser of the DVD but it can't be dragged to the project window. I'm trying to share it by selecting Large.
My movie is only 8 minutes. I tried sharing a video clip, selecting Large, and it worked so the system works, it's just my movie won't work.
How do I get my movie to share so I can use it in iDVD?

Pardon me, but I don't understand. In your first post you said you tried Large and it didn't work. Then you said the fixed the problem by using Large.

  • HOW TO PREPARE TECH SPEC FOR OOPS PROGRAM

    Hi..
This is Sri .I Created a Report program in oops. can any one help how to prepare tech spec for this oops report,,can i need to mention Classes ,Methods, ref-classes,screens in preparation of Spec..
Thanks in advance..I surly reward with points if my prob is solved,,,,,,
    SRI

    Hi Sri,
Tech Spec is nothing but a document containing some technical information about
the object you have developed/coded. Normally this should be prepared before you code and not the other way round.
You should mention relevant classes created / used. If you have created / added some class components like attributes/methods/events/interfaces mention that too.
You can also mention functionality to be coded in methods of the class. Please understand it is not a replica of your program but some useful technical info that the coder will use to code and later people will use for maintainance purpose.
It is better if you have some defined template for the tech spec, else just put the info in a structured and readable manner.
    Regards
    Indrajit.

  • My laptop has my home filmed videos in the pho library. When I open the library in iTunes the videos are not show. How can I access them for sharing?

My laptop has a photo library with my pictures and home made video. I have changed the format of the videos to apple. When O open the library in iTunes for sharing I only get the photos and the videos are excluded from the list. How can I get them included for sharing?

    Here are Apple's instructions:
If you are using iPhoto ’06 or earlier, you will need to follow these steps to tell iPhoto where the Library is now located:
Hold down the Option key on the keyboard and open iPhoto. Keep the Option key held down until you are prompted to create or choose an iPhoto Library.
    Click Choose Library.
Locate and select the iPhoto Library in its new location.
    (from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1229 )
Below (in the link below) is what you should see when holding down the option key and opening iPhoto. Keep holding down the option key until this dialogue comes up. You want to select the Choose Library button.

  • How to send (larger files) for 'Shared Review'?

We are unable to get PDF files above 5.5MB to successfully 'Send for Shared Review' to a WebDav server (using Acrobat Pro 9.3.0 on OSX 10.5.8).
The 'save' process fails at the final stage & the PDF is not uploaded to the server.  Files below that size can be sent for Shared Review without any problems.  Have tested this on different WebDav servers & domains - and with various PDF files.
Has anyone been able to get PDF files above 5/6MB to successfully 'Send for Shared Review' to a WebDave server???
Is there a file size limit for individual PDF files for 'Shared Review' using a WebDav server???
    Thanks for your help!!!

Try creating a review without sending the file and then send the link in a seperate email.
I used the "Do not send email invitation, just save localy" option and didn't add any reviewers in the wizard. Afterwards I sent a email with a link to the file to all reviewers and it worked.

  • Problems finding movie in iDVD after sharing through Media Browser

I created an iMovie in the '08 version and am now trying to burn to a DVD. I have followed the tutorial for rendering the project through the Share-Media Browser option, but when I open the iDVD application, I cannot find my movie under "Movies". It's listed, but grayed out.
Does anyone know what I may have done wrong?
    Thanks.

I'm wondering if it has something to do with how I created the file originally. I could be missing something very obvious here.
If you shared your iMovie '08 project to the "Media Browser" (or published to the Gallery), the file creation should have been automatic and supposedly foolproof to specific settings. However, just to be sure, have you tried opening the "Project" package at the finder level to play the movie in the QT Player and examine its statistics to ensure they are what they should be? It might give some clue as to why the file is "unavailable" in iDVD.

  • My movie works fine in imovie but when shared with media browser the audio isn't right

My movie in imovie works fine. Once I share it with media browser (in order to make a dvd) the movie audio doesn't sync right. There is also extra audio that isn't in the imovie.

    Hi
How do You "Share to Media Browser" ?
    As ?
    • Mobile
    • Medium
    • Large
    • HD 720p
    • HD 1080p
I use Large or Medium - and if audio ill behaves as Large - I use Medium
Never Mobile or HD - as resulting DVD will be bad.
And never "Share to iDVD" as this too is far from optimal.

  • How do i play my imovie project after sharing to media browser

I created an imovie project and clicked the share menu then clicked media browser.  I do not have iDVD because it didn't come with my mac. The movie is no longer under my project library and it is only under the movies folder, but it won't play at all.

You need to get a Mac. Then you need your RCPROJECT file as well as any Events or Photos that were referenced in the Movie. The RCPROJECT file is a hexadecimal file that contains the paths to the Event video clips with In and Out points, Titles, transitions, paths to music, paths to photos, etc. If you want to play it on a PC, you need to use the SHARE menu in iMovie. Share it as an h.264 file or as an MP4.
To play on a PC, get QuickTime for Windows (which is free) and play it there as is.

  • IMovie08 Shared to Media Browser Medium not displayed in iDVD Media Browser

    Please help.
    I have iMovie08 and iDVD 6.03.
I have successfully Shared an iMovie08 clip Medium size to Media Browser. I see the icon displayed for medium on iMovie08 Project Summary as published.
However, in iDVD Media Browser the only folders I display are:
    Movies
    ->DiVX Movies
    ->iMovie Events
    ->iMovie Projects
The iMovie08 clip is not in any of these folders.
Plus, when I click on iMovie Projects folder I receive the following message:
To see iMovie projects here, use iMovie 3 or later to save them to the Movies folder. To add other movie folders, drag them to the list above.
    **I'm really confused. I have iMovie08**
    What am I missing?
Thank you got to finish this project ....thanks again..
    JohnHec

    I have iMovie08 and iDVD 6.03.
Would assume iDVD 7.0 is required to see files "Published" to the Media Browser. These files are stored in a new location (the "iMovie Projects" package in a "Movies" folder) and older versions of iDVD may not be aware of their location/how to include them in the "Media" list. If you must use iDVD v6.0.3, then suggest you either copy the published file (or drop an alias of the published file) into your user "Movies" folder or copy the file to an external folder which you can "drag to the list above" as suggested by the message you quoted. (Have not tried any of these myself, so if you try one and it works, let us know your results.)

  • Projects "Shared to Media Browser" don't actually appear in Media Browser

Hello all. I've got one of those "it seems so easy I must be doing something wrong" questions. (I accidentally posted this in the iMovie HD forum by accident, the first time. I'm actually using iMovie '08.)
This is the first time I've tried this, and I can't seem to get it to work. I've made a bunch of projects in iMovie that I now want to bring into iDVD. I've started "Sharing" them to the Media Browser, but they're not showing up there. Doesn't matter which other iLife app I use to look -- iWeb, iDVD, GarageBand all do the same thing -- when I look in the "Movies" section, iMovie is there, as are all the Events in my Event Library, but from the screen shots I've looked at, I think the "Shared" iMovie projects are supposed to show up there, just above the Event Library clips, right? They don't.
In iMovie, they look "shared" -- the shared projects all have the "row of square boxes" icon next to them, so it looks like something did happen -- but I can't select them in any other iLife app. My next thought is I'll just export them instead of share, and import the files directly from the Finder, no big deal, but I was just wondering if anyone knows why the Media Browser thing isn't working for me?
I'm using iLife '08 and I have my Movies folder on an external drive (could that be part of the problem?)
Thanks in advance, everyone, for any assistance you can render.

I've started "Sharing" them to the Media Browser, but they're not showing up there.
    1) Sharing to the "Media Browser" stores the project export file in your named_Project folder. As long as you do not delete (or modify) the project, the file(s) will remain available there.
    2) Your "Media Browser" files should be located under the "Movies" tab at the very top of your "Media" browser list immediately under the "iMovie" heading and not under the "Movies" heading. (I.e., they have the yellow icon as opposed to the purple source "Event" icon.

  • Sharing to Media Browser problem

My movie is complete. I want to share to the Media Browser. It shares it no problem, except for the background audio on the clips. The video looks good, the music is fine, but NO background audio.
I've already tried sharing it to QuickTime and other choices with no luck. Any ideas?

Yup, I saw exactly the same problem. It appears that using the 'share' function in the media browser ceates files with the same name but in a different directory, but when iWeb posts the site it doesn't use the directory info, resulting in all moies pointing to the same movie. I found two different workarounds:
    1) Rename each movie to a unique name in the finder
    2) Use Export instead of 'share', and add those movies.
Neither solution is as elegant as 'share' in the media browser, but they both work.

  • Why does Sharing to Media Browser cause my Mac to freeze?

I have an iMAC with an intel Core 2 Duo and 3 GB of Memory. I am running Mac OS X 10.6.8
I just got the new iLife 11 package. We have a Panasonic HDC-TM90 I shot video using AVCHD setting.
I was able to inport into iMovie, view, edit, set up themes, set up my project - yadda yadda yadda
I am now trying to Share the project so that I can burn it to DVD. I tried to share to the media browser and have tried selecting HD 1080p, HD 720p, and Large - All attempts have resulted in my computer locking up.

    Hi
    A. Why HD 1080p or HD 720p ? (not for making a DVD I hope as this will not give any good result)
(for iDVD - Do - Share to Media Browser and as Large to get best possibly outcome (Never Share to iDVD))
(BTW - no DVD can be HD-DVDs any more and only a rare number of Toshiba HD-DVD players could Playback. DVD is as standard interlaced SD-Video)
    B. Free space on Start-Up (Mac OS) hard disk - for use of standard def video (SD-Video) I never go under 25Gb free space - and if material is in HD I guess that 4-5 times more will do as a minimum)

  • Sharing to Media Browser

When i 'Share' an iMovie as 'Media Browser' it should save it in 'Movies/iMovie Projects''
I have looked there and in 'Users/me/Movies/iMovie Projects'
    and it's  not there.
And it's not available in the iDVD media. Yet iMovie thinks it's there as it won't let me save it a 2nd time by being greyed out.
What gives? Where is it saving it?

    Hi
When You Share to Media Browser in iMovie - WHAT resolution do You select ?
iDVD need - MEDIUM or ev. Large - Not HD or any of the others as resulting DVD if any will be bad (far from optimal)
Best quality You can get is by using a Video-Editing program that handles interlaced Video
    • iMovie'08 or 09 or 11 - DON'T
    • iMovie up to HD6 - Does so
    • FinalCut any version - does this too
This is due to DVD as Standard - it is and can not be any better than - interlaced SD-Video Quality
