How to prevent album cover artwork from being synced to the I Phone

The album cover artwork is nice enough on the Mac but it is unweildy on the I Phone (I Phone 5 S). It spaces out the real information needed which is simply folder, playlist information. In fact, I can't shuffle music among all playlists contained in a single folder, a related problem. If necessary as a solution I could live without the album cover art anywhere in I Tunes, including on the laptop.

Thanks for responding. Even when a tune is playing and the lower left photo is toggled to "now playing," the photo on the left is different than the album cover up on top. Both are the same ONLY on the first track of the album. The album cover on the top is apparently no longer available on Amazon, CD Universe, etc., so I can't move it to the desktop and enter it as a new piece of artwork. If I am too vague about what I'm attempting to do, please call me collect at 760.471.8011.

Easy peasy!
1. Highlight all the songs you want to remove the artwork from.
2. Pull down File > Get Info (Apple+I on the keyboard)
3. Click the checkbox next to the "artwork" panel.
4. Click OK and the artwork will be removes.
For individual tracks:
1. Hightlight the track.
2. Get Info.
3. Click the Artwork tab.
4. Click the artwork, click Delete, click OK.

If I force an employee to do an encrypted backup (which I can do with a configuration profile), and that employee is fired. We take back the company iphone, but they go and buy a personal one. They connect the new, personal iphone to itunes and do a restore of the encrypted backup (they know the password) and now they have all the work related stuff on their personal phones. Is there a way to prevent an encrypted back from being restored to a different device id.

We require encryption of our employee backups as well...and the problem you mention is a real one.....
If you use Exchange, you could disable Exchange Active Sync to prevent them from subsequently connecting to Exchange Server and getting new data with the new personal device....but you would still have the old data as part of the backup...the other issue is that we've found that the profile is part of the backup and if an employee leaves, even on good terms, if he wants to restore say, his music from the backup without the profile, it becomes quite awkward...the profile would have to be removed, ( which removes everything added with the profile, possible email and wi-fi), then the user could backup music etc with iTunes, then return the corporate phone to be salvaged or re-deployed...and later put his personal data back on another device without the profile...if there is a way around the issue you bring up I'd like to know of it as well. . Perhaps there is an MDM with functionality that would help here....that is one great strength of the Blackberry platform..all corporate data can be controlled from the BES server.

How can I remove my name from being associated with the GB file I export?

I am using Garage Band '11, 6.0.5.
I am editing an audio recording for a friend.
When I exported the edited recording, it had my name associated with the file as the artist, album, etc.
I searched and found "My info" (in "Preferences") and deleted my information from ALL name, album, artist fields, but it still exported the file with my name as the artist (but it did not list it as from my album this time)?
Does anyone know how/where/what I need to do to remove all references of my name associated with this file I'm editing?
And also, can I change who is associated with a GB file, from file to file (i.e. if editing my audio, use my name & info, if editing for a friend or colleague, theirs? or is the name associated with my GB account universally embedded into every file, no matter if I want it to be mine or not)?

The problem is, that this information is stored with the GarageBand project, when you first create the project. You have to edit the Preferences, before you create the project.
If the project already exists, you can change this option by turning the project into a podcast. Add a Podcast track (Track menu, Show Podcast Track), select the podcast track, and open the Info panel. Then edit the artist field in the Info panel, before you save the song to disk.

mende1....I still have the problem.
I have been trying out the "Show/Hide Music in the Cloud" in the View menu and it works fine as long as I am in the "Show/Albums/Artists/Genres" fields of ITunes.
My problem still is that in my SmartPlaylist the iCloud tracks are still showing up and trying to download and play if I don't stop them time. The Hide/Show Cloud doesn't even show up in the View menu if you are listening to a playlist smart or regular either one.
My problem is that I'm on a Satelite connection (Hughes.net) and I'm only allowed 250 mb's download per week unless I download between 2 and 6 am New York time and then the download is free of charge other wise I have to pay extra.
A real pain for sure..
Any Ideas?

How to prevent data-sources.xml from being included in EAR

I cannot get rid of the data-sources.xml file in my EAR file in the meta-inf folder.
Deselecting the "Bundle Default data-sources.xml during deployment" in my preferences didn't have any effect. I also tried shutting down/restarting JDeveloper just in case it was cached.
I also tried adding an exclude filter for data-sources.xml in my deploy profile for both Web files and WEB-INF/classes.

The way I resolved this was to create the data-sources.xml, right click it, select Properties then uncheck Auto-update data sources.xml. That way it stays empty (hopefully).

if a user has access to the other share there is no way to prevent that user from mapping a drive.

Prevent user defined query from being activated with the CopyTo function

Hi, I have a user defined query defined in one of the quantity field (in the grid) in the goods receipt PO window.
The query updates the quantity depending on the number of another line field. The query works great, but I dont want it to be activated when a user clicks the "Copy From" purchase order. When this happens the query gets activated and changes the quantity.
The query is defined to be activated "when exiting altered column", i have not selected the "Refresh Regulary"

this is my query, depending on the column U_Empaque (type of package), I look for the right conversion in the OITM table of the item. Then I use the number from the column U_Cantidad_Empaque (Quantity Of the Type of package) to multiply by the conversion factor that I have defined for the Item in the OITM user fields. The conversion is a standard conversion, so It needs to be modified by the user to set it to the real quantity of the unit of measure (or unit of inventory). The query works great, except for the CopyTo and CopyFrom functions.

How do I stop my Cursor from being stuck on the Hand tool icon?

I have Illustrator 10 (Yes, I'm aware it's old, but I can't afford to buy the newest version, as much as I want it) and Photoshop Elements 1(Again, I know it's old, but I do have 7, but it sucks, because when I go to scale pictures down, there is no option of pixels, just inches, points, and everything but pixels, and I only use pixels, so I only use PSE1), and they both started getting the hand icon as the cursor, no matter what tool I selected.
One time I had Illustrator open, it was fine, left it for awhile, came back, and it was last on the Direct Selection Tool, and it was now showing the hand icon. I would reset the computer and it would be fine, thinking memory is the issue, but it just happened again. I had rebooted my computer(just on an unrelated thing), and decided I'd work on one of my cartoon characters and I loaded it up, and the picture, and voila! The hand icon was showing right off the bat, and I didn't want to reboot again.
Is there something I can do? Seems like these Adobe programs are going "hand" on me. I just am very frustrated, as I never had so much as no trouble with these programs(I had I10 for a long time), and now they go wonky on me. It first started with PSE1, but only once, and I thought it was just a random glitch, nothing to worry about, since it never happened again....til it did much, much later.

You can prevent it from being printed by applying a security policy to it
in Acrobat. The rest can't be prevented, unless you spend a LOT of money

Has anyone who is currently using iTunes Match found a way to prevent selected songs in their music library from being uploaded to the iCloud. I have a number of audio files that are hour long mixes, but aren't quite large enough to run afoul of the 200MB size limit. Another oddity I just discovered is that if I turn on wifi hotspot on my phone and connect my iMac to my phone's 3G service then iTunes on my iMac will stream music just fine from iTunes match (yes, the music was only in the cloud, not on my drive).

Connect the PC to the library on the NAS. Wait while "updated".
Under Edit > Preferences > Advanced make sure the media folder is correctly pointed at the media folder on the NAS. If not correct, close iTunes, wait a few moments, then open iTunes again.
Close iTunes on the PC. Do not open iTunes on the Mac.
Copy the library files, iTunes Library.itl, iTunes Library Extras.itdb, iTunes Library Genius.itdb, sentinel and the folder Album Artwork into an empty iTunes folder on the PC, for example C:\iTunes.
Click the icon to start iTunes and immediately press and hold down SHIFT. Keep holding until prompted to choose or create a library. Click choose and browse to the copied .itl file, e.g. C:\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl
The library should now work properly on the PC, however check the setting for the media folder. If needs be correct, close iTunes and reopen.
Open iTunes on the Mac. It will update again, but that should be last time.

is there a way to prevent a PDF file from being forwarded? For example, im a personal trainer and if i send a client a plan via PDF file, i want to make sure that they cannot send it to anyone else. I read about how you can secure a file by creating an ID and then having the recipient create an ID as well, but i would like to make the orocess as easy as possible for my clients and not have to have them create an ID and then send it to me. is there a better way to block the recipient from resending the PDF?
