How to prevent physical memory filling up and crashing Firefox (22.0) when watching Flash-based videos?

This happens maybe 30-50% of the time when I watch a video online, whether it be on YouTube or other streaming site. This usually happens when the video is at least 20 minutes long, and about 8-9 minutes in.
Looking at the Task Manager, my memory fills up to nearly its max (3.8-3.9 GB out of 4 GB) for a while before Firefox crashes. How can a video that is not very high definition take up that much physical memory space? After Firefox crashes, the RAM used immediately drops back below 1 GB.
Is this a Flash bug or a Firefox bug/leak? Or maybe my browser customization is at fault? It does not happen on Chrome.

Well, doomsdaze's rant didn't help solve my problem, but it actually makes me feel better about switching to Chrome.
Yes, I switched browsers, set up all-new extensions and settings, and accepted other inconveniences because I couldn't watch videos in peace on Firefox.
I had no idea there were so many others with this problem!

If you didn't enable find my iphone in icloud settings on your phone, then you can't do a lost mode or lock your phone.
I would assume you had a passcode on your phone to lock it. If you didn't then start changing your passwords.
Report the lost to your phone carrier - local authorities.

Try sharing and see if the effect is still present when you play the shared movie. It can happen when playing within iMovie if there are insufficient resources to play a full resolution.

Adobe Flash and Flash based Video Players and the ps command

OK, I have two v20z servers. I just reinstalled Solaris 08/07 on both of them. These are both Sunray servers. One of the servers is fully patched and has SRSS 4.0 installed and serving Sunrays just nicely. I just finished installing Solaris on the 2nd server.
On the first one I'm not sure what whacked things, the patches or SRSS
If I go to a site with a flash based video player like youtube, Firefox or Mozilla will freeze untill the video is fully streamed.
Also on this server the "ps" command is super slow. I like to do ps -efa|grep whatever to find processes. This unbearably slow on this 1st server.
On the 2nd server I haven't yet patched it or installed SRSS. I think though it's the patches and not SRSS
On this server the Flash 7 that comes preinstalled works fine on streaming videos. It also works fine with Flash version 9,0,47,0. I even copied the 9,0,47,0 version of flash from the server that where flash is freezing, so it's not flash that is the problem I don't think.
Normal flash animations work fine, it's just flash based streaming video players.
Something after patching seems to have done this
Anyone else have a really slow ps and flash that freezes the browser while watching videos?

Really? No one else has experienced this? I can easily recreate the issue, but can't find any fix.

How to prevent print head clog up and B200 Error ?

I just went through a horrid time getting rid of a B200 error due to the printer head clog up. I had to soak the head for at least one hour in a solution of warm water and a bit of oxy clean to get the printer to work again. I almost gave up and was at the point of buying a new printer .
My question is : How to prevent this from happening again especially during 2 to 3 week vacations when the printer is turned off?

Sawserver memory Increased rapidly and crashes the services.

In my development env we are using Windows Server 2003 R2, OBIEE 10.1.3.3.2, Internet explorer 6 and Oracle 10 g . When i logged in and go to the Dashboard which having only one simple report (table view report, Oracle) I entered the value in prompt and i got the result. Once i got the result when i am clicked on refresh button which is below the dashboard report and i saw the memory of the sawserver service in task manager is increasing. Then i am keep on doing this for few times it increased lot and after that my browser get freeze and i cant do anything. At that time when i am trying to restart the service i cant stop them i have to kill the services ( BI Admin and presentation).
My Question is, Is this behavior is right? why the sawserver services are increasing rapidly when i am trying to refresh the report.
Might be you are asking me why i am refreshing the report. Because we got the heap error in the production and production team told that sawserver is not releasing the memory. So to test that i have done above task

Error message and crashing of LabVIEW 5 when controlling K-Teams Khepera robot

I have the gripper turret attached to K-Team's Khepera 1 Robot and use the K-Team provided LabVIEW VI's to control the arm movement or gripper. Every so often I get an error message after the VI runs and LabVIEW has to shut down.
Does anyone know why this is? I dont' know whtehr you will know the exact cause but maybe what the error meassage below means. I am using LabVIEW 5.0 and the error message is shown below and in the attached file.

I'm not an expert per say but this could be a Windows corrupted hard disk fault.
Perform System Backup!!!
Empty re-cycle bins
Delete Temporary files
Run disk check
Defrag hard disc
reboot
Defrag hard disc
Rationale
A page fault is either memory or memory being paged to hard disk. An error in allocation raises this issue. I have seen it most often when the hard disk is heavily fragmented and or mis-allocation of hard disk space as a result of the aforementioned and Microsoft Word leaves temporary files around that have caused these kinds of issues.
There is a smaller possiblity that you have faulty memory but that's much less likely I would think.
Run a load of apps like Notepad with BIG files in them to cause the system to fill up and page to disk
then see if you get the same issue.

In the past, to protect you from [https://support.mozilla.org/kb/use-plugins-play-audio-video-games plugins] that have stability or security issues, Firefox could only turn off the problematic plugin. Now Firefox can prevent the plugin from running automatically (which prevents many issues) and then let you choose to run or update the plugin. Why does the BlackBoard HTML editor freeze and crash Firefox 3.6?

Black Board uses a HTML editor that seems to be based on JAVA. I teach by added posts to threads and can use the editor or disable the editor in either case after adding some text the window freezes and I cannot add text or delete text. If I enable the HTML editor the text is gone, but if I then disable it I can add a few letters, but if I try to delete, it will again freeze. Disabling and enabling the HTML editor works several times and the FireFox will crash. Actually I do not care about the HTML editor. My preference is just to disable the HTML editor and add my classroom comments.
Oddly the editor works on Safari, but its slow and clunky, so I disable the HTML editor and I can add my raw text with some selective HTML to get paragraphs and bold. I would rather go back to FireFox, but for now Safari works better.

Some questions to help us help you! (I haven't noticed this flickering & crashing on photo sites that you mention in my testing)
# Which websites are causing this problem? A few (3 or 4) examples would be grand!
# What version of Firefox are you using? FF35 for Android?
# Have you tried temporarily uninstalling all the add-ons in Tools -> Add-ons? Sometimes add-ons break Firefox!
# Finally what version of Android OS are you using? (ice cream sandwich 4.0, jellybean 4.1-4.3, kitkat 4.4? etc) and what phone or tablet are you using? (htc one, samsung galaxy s5, etc)
