How to Preview local file

Currently DW is set up to preview in browser using the file
on the remote server, which is not what I want.
I have spent the last hour searching for the preference that
will direct the browser to preview the local file. Will anyone
please point me to the right preference?
Thanks

This means you have defined a testing server for your site.
You probably
don't need one. Are you developing static HTML pages? Or are
you using
ASP/.Net, PHP, CF, or JSP pages? If the former and not the
latter, then
remove the Testing server defintion from the site definition
(just set it to
none) and that'll take care of it.

  • How to sync local files to exchange

Okay - so I made the move in my office to all Mac - accessing our exchange server.  All of my files are local - simple question:
1 - How can I have my local files (documents) automattically sync with an identical folder on the exchange server?  This way my company has a back up and other people can acceess within the company,
2 - Does it make more sens to keep my documents on synced with a folder on the cloud - if so - I would still use my local files as the default place to operate from, as I am not always online.
    Thanks in advance

  • Renamed Macintosh HD now Dreamweaver can't preview local files in Web Browser even though I have redefined local sites

I've renamed my Macintosh HD on my Macbook something else-and
then went in and redefined all the local sites in Dreamweaver CS3
with the new name. Dreamweaver locates all the local files and
allows me to edit and work on them-but then when I save and preview
it can't locate the files. I've changed the name of my hard drive
back to Macintosh HD and still the same problem. I'm completely
stuck and this is frustrating the hell out of me-what do I
    do?

If it is during the preview, check the test server
    information in the site settings.

  • How to launch local files in SIENA

When I try to open a file (listed in the data source excel table and marked as hyperlink) from a network share in SIENA with a gallery link like this:
launch("file:///\\server\share\document.pptx") the expected document open in Powerpoint on a splittscreen. When I try the same for a locale file launch("file:///c:\folder\document.pptx") or in this notation launch("file:///\\localhost\share\document.pptx")
    file couldnt open.
Can anyone tell me how to solve this issue! I'm going crazy with this problem.
    Thanks!

    Hello,
thanks for the answers! But thats not the answers that I want to hear ;-))
Ok, will this function be implemented in one of the following Versions of SIENA?
And the other thougt is, local files are much more trustworthy then remote files. Wouldn't it make more sense when remote files  are blocked??
Is there no way to tag the local Zone as Intranet / Internet Zone?
    Thanks for your help!!

  • How to get local file date and time ( 10g version )

    Hi,
Would like to ask if there is any way to get the date and time of a local file. It seems that webutil does not have this function.
And I want to use client_host ( dir c:\file.txt > c:\temp.txt ) and the read this file to get the file date.
But the problem is the file date and time ( in the dir ) varies in different PCs.
    Best Regards,
    Ivan

But the problem is the file date and time ( in the dir ) varies in different PCs.
You mean the format of the date and time don't you?
If so you maybe could create a java bean which does that for you using the lastModified Method of the File class.

  • How to open local file link in IE ?

I know, this question is not APEX-related per se, but I was not able to google the fix to this problem.
In my application, users can open a file open dialog and retrieve a complete file path that is later stored in the DB. Of course, Firefox's javascript does not allow this, but Adam Fisk's applet (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405630#c40) does the job.
The file path links to file:///..... . In Firefox, I have managed to open these links with NoScript settings (white list for our intranet trusted addresses and "allow local links" for trusted sites).
Also, there is a LocalLink plugin (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Links_to_local_pages_don%27t_work) that allows to open local file links from context menu.
However, on Internet Explorer nothing happens and LocalLink and NoScript are only for FF.
Has anyone here managed to open local and intranet file links in IE?

  • How to set local file copy buffer size?

Is there any sysctl parameter or any other mechanism to set or change file copy buffer sizes? I'm backing up a huge number of files to a local hard drive connected by firewire, and I'd like to play with file copy buffer sizes for the best performance. The machine used is a new macbook pro running OS-X 10.6.7. Any ideas?

Here is a bash script that uses the dd command to copy a file.  Use the -b option to set the file size.
    example:
    /Users/mac/config/forumcopy.command -vb  4096  /Applications\ \(Mac\ OS\ 9\)/Civilization\ II/Civ\ II\ Map\ Editor  /Applications\ \(Mac\ OS\ 9\)/Civilization\ II/Civ\ II\ Map\ Editorv8
    I haven't tested this a lot.
Of course, I haven't figured out how best to post code.  Trying HTML mode. Using the <pre> tag.
    #!/bin/bash
    # macteracopy [ -b blocksize ] [-v ] [-V ] input_file output_file
    # Purpose of this script:
    # Copy a file with optional block size. Default size of 4096.
    # Notes:
    # chmod u+x macteracopy
    # You may have to restart the finder to notice a customized file icon.

  • How to Preview Illustrator file in Vista Explorer?

With almost all software installed on Vista, I can use Explorer's 'Organize', 'Layout', 'Preview Pane' to see a giant preview of my files. However, the Adobe files only show generic icons. How can I see a preview of my Adobe files in the Preview pane? I'm using CS3.

    Hello Wynn,
Is a 100% Adobe's failure. The bug started with CS3 and is alive and well with version CS4 too. In this Windows forum, we have blamed Microsoft, but some Mac users think Apples is the problem:
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b81128/4
The reality is that Adobe cannot keep up with new technology, or they just do not care. As suggested previously, you need a plug-in or a second program just to preview a document. Now that is comedy!
