How to print a greeting card

I used to print greetings cards on windows easily. I still don't know how to do it well on my MacBook. Can anyone te me how to print a folded card on a MacBook Pro using an HP color printer? On windows, there are direction on where to fold the paper so that you have a front, then open the folded paper to a message. It even let you put your own little hallmark-like logo on the back page.
Thanks on advance.

You used a specialized program that did that apparently.
You can sort of mimic that using free drawing software like LibreOffice importing a picture, scaling it to fit a corner and creating text and rotating it and positioning it like so, then folding and trimming the edges, then lightly gluing it together.
https://www.libreoffice.org/
There are rulers on the sides so you know where to place things and you can use a ruler when it's printed to find where to make the folds.
10.8 users, Right or control click on the program and choose "Open" to bypass security measures of Gatekeeper if you trust the source of the program.

how to print blank photo cards?

Please specify what system, (OS X 10.?)
    hardware of the computer model...
and application you are using to print.
If you have an Intel based Mac built after 2006, you are in a pre-Intel forum.
PowerPC Macs cannot run an OS X newer than Leopard 10.5.8, in general.
And many newer applications need the Intel-based hardware, not PPC.
There are several ways of performing tasks, based on the software in use
and this changes when you may have posted in a different area than your
computer model, thus software suggestions based on this, may not apply.
As a user-to-user support community, we have no way to know what your
computer happens to be, its OS X, or the application you may be running.
Some photo card stock (paper) requires a maker's software, to set it up.
Without anything to go on, you could try an online search engine...
    Good luck!

  • Trying to print a greeting card side fold all in one 6200

I have  a project using Microsoft Publisher 2007. I'm trying to print a greeting card that is a side fold. The only options I see in the print set up page is "one page or side fold quarter page". I have been able to print a card like this before and have not been able to see what settings I need to change. I know that I have to print both sides so I have to manualy turn the card paper over to print the other side. I have tried to find a answer with vista help, no luck.

Is there really no way? The box or instructions or somewhere it says you can "print greeting cards at home."

  • When I print a greeting card, it comes out as 2 separate pages and not afolding card--why?d

When I try to print out a greeting card, it comes out as 2 separate sheets and not as a card that opens when unfolded.  Where am I going wrong? Thanks. Mac

Actually you can't.  When you print directly from iPhoto you will need to print to a 8 x 10 borderless paper size.  That will produce the card with a white border on each size which can be trimmed off after printing. This screen shot shows how the card will print on 8" x 10" stock:
This is because the stock size for the card is 10 x 7 and no printer supports 10 x 7 borderless printing.  These two tutorials describes how to print the card if you have a 3rd party image editor that can handle layers or have Pages from iWork: #8 - Printing a iPhoto Greeting Card and #8a - Printing a iPhoto Greeting Card to Standard Stock Sizes.

  • Printing a Greeting Card

Why am I not able to "Order Prints" of a Greeting Card?

Which version of PSE? Did you select a Shutterfly template or one that says "Print Locally"? If the latter, those are for printing on your home printer, not for ordering.

  • How to print a post card om HP4640

    Hi,
I am trying to print new years card with my HP4640 on 200g' A4 size paper, but the printer wouldn't reconize the paper.
Is the paper too big? or it's something i can solve by changing the settings?
    Thank you,

If the printer is not feeding any paper through and printing, try the steps in this guide:
'Out of Paper' Error Message and the Printer Does Not Pick Up or Feed Paper
If the troubleshooting does not help at all, and the printer will not feed paper still, I would lastly suggest technical support.

    I this possible?
    Sheila

There are multiple ways to do it.
    1) Create a Greeting card in PSE Editor. Once done with editing click on File->Export Card and choose PDF/JPEG and save it on your hard drive and mail it as attachment.
    2) Create a Greeting card in PSE Editor. Once done with editing click on File->Export Card and choose PDF/JPEG and save it on your hard drive and mail it as attachment. Import in your Organizer and choose Share->Email or PDF Slideshow etc.
I am hoping that you would like person to see th card on mail body itself so try Share->Photo mail also and probably JPEG should be fine here
    Hope it helps.

  • Problems printing perforated greeting card with PS D7260

I'm making Christmas cards on photo quality note paper - 2/page. When I print the second side, the paper gets stuck and the perforation comes apart and I have jam. One half jammed and the other half in the paper feed. With my previous printer (I think it was a 8190 - not sure) I never had a problem. How can this be correct? I hate the thought of printing my cards on half fold photo quality card paper and having to cut.
    Any suggestions?
    Helen
    Helen

I would suggest detaching the cards before printing.  Break the cards in half and then load them in the printer.  Select the proper paper size for the half cards.

  • How to make a greeting card out of one sheet of 8.5 X 11 paper in Pages?

Within the Pages templates for " cards and invitations " there does not seem to be any choice for a single folded card made on a single sheet of 8.5 X 11 paper. How is this possible ?

You can create your own template very easily. First, take a blank sheet of paper and fold it the way you want the card to be. Then write a word or two in the front and inside panels. Now unfold it and use this as a guide later.
Next, open a blank layout page and set it to either portrait or landscape, depending on how you oriented your blank guide. Go to View and Show Rulers. Click and hold in the top ruler and drag down a blue guideline to the center of the page. Do the same with the side ruler. You will now have four quadrants laid out. At this point you may save it as a template.
Using your blank sheet as a guide, insert text boxes and graphics in the appropriate quadrants. In the ones that will need to be upside down, go ahead and create it right side up and then select and rotate the elements using the Metrics Inspector. (Use the up pointing arrow in the bottom right corner,) If you should need to edit or make changes in it, it will flip back to normal when you double click it.
Hope this will work for you.

  • Can't figure out how to print on the right side of a greeting card using a 5X7 when folded

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500A.   I am trying to print a greeting card, but cannot figure out how to print on the right side of the paper so that it's on the correct side when folded.    The paper is 5X7 when folded, 10X7 laid flat.

    shgilljx,
Welcome to the forums. I will try to explain this in simple terms, and you'll have to play with it. We'll use plain paper, cut to 10x7. You'll need a marker, 4-5 sheets of paper.
Lay paper flat, number top 1, bottom 2. Flip paper over right to left. number top 3, and bottom 4.Draw a line where the fold would be on each page.1) Put paper with number 3 side up in printer.
To create both templates using MW Office, do this. The requires 2 documents. One is graphic, one is text.
Text template: The text will be printed on number 2.  That means your wording must be within the bottom half of the page.
Graphic template: The image must be rotated 180 degrees. The image must be within the top half of the page.
Print the text template. Insert side #3 into the printer. The text should print on side #2.
Print the graphic template: Insert side #1 into the printer. The graphic should print on side #3.
When folded, all should be correct, if I did it right.

  • Printing greeting cards on elements 9

I cannot succssfully print a greeting card on elements 9.  I have finally arrived at the conculsion that duplex printing is not possible.  So I have been trying to print without the duplex feature enabled.  The problem is when the page prints out the picture takes up the whole page - how do I shrink it to make it look like a greeting  card?

Using one of the guides under, "Create?" I don't think those were done with duplex printing in mind (at least when doing home projects).
Could be a printer driver issue in regards to it printing too big. Can you preview before you print? Are the settings correct?

  • Printing greeting card

Someone please help!! I'm trying to print a greeting card but the printer keeps cutting off the right end of the card...its an hp deskjet 5740. I've already messed with the margins with no results.

I have a HP 1610 printer. When I go to "Page Set-up" I do have an option for "borderless 5 X 7". But after I print (on a precut 7 x 10 card stock) I still end up with a 3/5" white (unprinted) border on the right hand side of the card - front page, thereby cutting of what would be the color margin and white "frame". I was using Maple Leaf. I must experiment more!
I suppose, Apple really wants us to order the cards from them!
Old Toad - thank you for the Tutorial, but I don't think I would go to all that bother. Thank you anyway for all the details.

dlocker, could you provide a little bit more information for the community? Knowing the model Photosmart and operating system you are using could help narrow down troubleshooting. Other things like what application you are printing from and the steps you are using could be helpful as well.
