How to print actual size in CS3

Hi I am interested to print my figure which is fully scaled to millimeters units. When I open my figure in photoshop it looks perfectly scaled. but when I sent this figure to print, first I uncheck SCale to Fit Media and scale to 100% so that no further scaling will be done... Now when I send this to print , it gives me very small size.
Scaling is critical in my case as I MUST have to print what is the actual scale.. Even decimals in millimeters cause error to me..How can I do this help me please
Please please please help me
Thanks

It was the 3rd "please" that pushed me over the edge.    Just kidding.
How far off from proper size is your print coming out (actual measurements vs. expected)?
Are there any settings in the printer driver itself (available through the [Print Settings...] button) such as "borderless print" or other scaling options that have inadvertently been set?
Are the values for Height and Width exactly what you expect, considering the type of unit (e.g., cm or mm) displayed in the Units field?  For me, an image listed as 4.75 x 5 with Units: inches prints exactly at that size.
What kind of printer is it?  Are any updates available for the driver from the manufacturer (e.g., on their web site)?

I don't see the screen shot. Screenshots can only be uploaded when you are using the forum version here and not via email.

  • Cannot print actual size when choosing several pages per paper

I'm using Adobe Reader XI and trying to print a pdf (exported from InDesign)´where each page is in A5 format. I want to print two A5 pages for each A4 paper. However, when I click the button Several (or similar, I'm using Swedish version) there is a fixed 25 mm margin around each A5 page so that the pages are much reduced on the printout. I'd like to print actual size, and I think this was possible in a previous version. If I print one A5 per A4 paper I can print the actual size. I tried the button Print Format (equiv.) but the margins are fixed and cannot be changed. Awkward. Thanks for help or explanation why this is so.

I have a little more information. I turned on "single hairline" border and as you can see, it's converting my square pages into "US Letter" pages BEFORE applying them two-to-a-page. So it's using my selection of "Paper Size" as both the source and destination paper size, rather than just the destination size, because my source is obviously 12x12 square (confirmed by looking at page properties in preview). Apple, please fix this

  • Printing actual size on custom size paper on OSX 10.9

    Hi,
I just updated my computer to OSX Maverick and I have problem when printing actual size document on a custom page size in Acrobat X.
I want to print a 5.5" x 8.5" document on a 12" x 24" paper sheet size. I want my document to be centred in the paper at is actual size. When I select the paper size in the Page Setup... and the "Actual size" option, I have the right preview but once it is printed, the document is Fit to page.
I have updated my printer driver and I am able to print my document correctly if I open it in Preview.
I also have the same problem when printing in Acrobat on other printers.
Can anyone help me resolve this issue?
    Thanks in advance.

I have the exact same problem, please let me know if you come across a solution for this and i will do same for you.
My PDF"s print to the correct size when printing using preview, so this is my temporary work around.

  • Can't choose what part of image to print when printing actual size.

I have a pdf file that needs to be printed out to actual size, since the image is a temlate for a part that I need to cut out. Since the actual size is bigger than the paper size, it shows a purple box in the preview box, indicating what part of the document it's going to print. The first time I printed the image, it let me slide the box or the slider below, left to right to select what part of the document on wanted on the paper. But, now it's just locked in place. I'm not sure what changed. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I'm using Windows 7 Pro 64bit, Adobe Reader XI. Printer is a Canon MP495.

Francine, thank you so much for the tips. It took me over two months but I finally got around to trying to take care of this.
I tried your suggestions in order. Steps 1-3 did not fix the problem, but reinstalling from Pacifist did (thank goodness!). Wish I had tried that from the get-go.
Thanks again to everyone for all the suggestions.
There are a couple of things to try:
    1. If you haven't done so lately, try Disk Utility
and Repair Permissions. Won't hurt, it's quick and
easy, and there is a remote possibility that it will
help. It actually does occasionally fix something
    strange like this.
    2. Go to http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/ and
download the COMBO 10.4.8 updater (it is huge, like
148MBs) and run it, then Repair Permissions again.
    3. Restart and hold down the Shift key when you hear
the startup chime. This will force the computer to do
a Safe boot. When you see the splash screen saying
"Safe Mode" release the Shift key. The boot will take
longer than normal as the system repairs the disk,
empties font caches, and disables startup items. Not
sure if Image Capture will run correctly with some
Apple startup items disabled, but you can try it.
    Restart normally afterwards.
    4. You can download Pacifist here:
    http://www.charlessoft.com/
It will extract things from your Install disk so you
can install only what you need, in your case Image
    Capture.
My Image Capture has never had a problem, so I'm
afraid all I can recommend is these general
approaches. Hope one of them helps.

  • How To Print Full Size 8x11 on officejet 6500

I just bought an officejet 6500. I want to print a picture full size. It's 8x10.5in. I select 8x11 paper. Best resolution and all just like I did on my old hp, but when I print, it resizes to 3x5 (my guess). Why is it doing this? How do I get it to stop. This should be simple. The resolution is about 97dpi. Does that have anything to do with it? I printed the same photos the way I wanted on my old printer. If I printed this exact printer on my old printer, it would print full size. And how I get it to use the printer as the default and not the fax. I'm not even using the fax. I have to select the printer every time. I'm on Vista by the way.

It turns out that I can't seem to print the way I want from Photoshop CS3. Other applications seem to print OK. I can print without any issue if I use Corel PhotoPaint. But if I try to use Photoshop, it prints a small picture no matter what setting I seem to pick. Unfortunately I mostly use Photoshop to print. I could print using HP Essentials, but there doesn't appear to be any way to custom size what I want to print in that program.

  • How to view actual size as in real life at 100%?

I am designing the user interface for an iPhone app using Adobe Illustrator CS4. The screen size of the iPhone 4 is 640x960px, which I have entered as the artboard size. The problem here is that at 100% zoom in Illustrator, I do not see the actual iPhone screen size as how it would look like in real life, rather I see it much larger (around x3 if not more). The resolution of the monitor I am working on is 1680x1050. Does this issue of getting the actual size of 640x960px have anything to do with my monitor resolution/size? How can I see the actual size of 640x960 on my monitor at 100% without resorting to manual methods such as placing a ruler on the monitor, etc.
Please advise, I would greatly appreciate your help.

I believe it actually calculates your screen resolution and then displays the the illustrated profile as actual size.

  • How do I print actual size?

I am trying to print a CD jewel case image. Every time I make sure under page setup it says "scale = 100%", but it prints this monstrosity that is way too large. This occurs if I print it within the gimp or the eog image viewer.
What do I have to do? This is so annoying.

Sorry, I didn't mean for you to import the image into some other tool to make a document then a pdf - I mean't just print to pdf from gimp.  This would allow you to see exactly what would be printed, and I assume it'd be too large.
This would be because of the size meta-data which is what I first asked about and was trying to get at - alphaniner has shown exactly this.

  • CS5 not printing actual size

I'm using CS5 Extended. I have a canvas size of 8.4x10.95 that I print on 8.5x11 portrait paper. The Scale to Fit Media checkbox is unchecked, and the Scale field is 100%. The printer dialog is set to borderless.
When printed, the image seems to be enlarged by about 1/2 inch, cropping top and bottom.
    Need help!
    Thanks

You may not be scaling in Photoshop, but with Epson printers, if you choose any Borderless paper size the Epson printer driver is going to enlarge the print job slightly to extend each side past the edges of the paper. The slight enlargement may not be noticeable when you're printing a photo that isn't tightly cropped, but it can be very obvious when you're printing a design with specific dimensions. Like the greeting card that's shown.
You'll probably get what you want if you choose the non-borderless version of the paper size, which in this case seems to be US Letter.
If you wanted to take a closer look at it, the Epson printer driver lets you customize how much it enlarges.  The screen shot I added shows the setting in OS X; I forget where it is in Windows. But as you can see, if you choose borderless you can't avoid scaling entirely. To achieve borderless printing it has to have some way to ensure that the image will be bigger than the paper.

  • Photoshop CS5 not printing actual size?

I have created a document in photoshop sized 8.5x11, the same size as my printer paper, at 300dpi.  I am using the ruler guidelines onscreen to make an image 6 3/4" wide, but it is printing out too small at 6".
Please note that I am not measuring onscreen by putting an actual ruler up against my screen, I am using the photoshop ruler (so I am sizing according to the 6 3/4" ruler in photoshop, even if it is 8" on my screen)
In the print settings, I uncheck "scale to fit media" and "center image".
    What am I doing wrong?

post a screen shot of your process.... it sounds right, but i bet we can catch something in your documentation of this process

  • Printing Actual Size

I bet this gets asked a lot.
I have downloaded a PDF document which all 30 pages measure 67.26x47.68 in which is "HUGE"
I would like to know if it is possible to do a multi page print out on A4 paper whilst keeping the same size as the actual document?
I have an Epson Stylus photo R300 if that helps
I need the scale to be totally precise as these are plans for a large scale model aircraft

I have the same problem. I wish to seemlessly print a 45 cm X 45 cm (17.71" X 17.71") image (a board game template) onto several pages while retaining the correct board size and line-ups.
It is frustrating that such an obvious option is not available. The multiple pages per sheet option is great, but AR9 needs an multiple sheets per image option as well.
Sorry, I do not have a solution for you. Hopefully, Adobe will work on this soon.

  • How to print custom size envelope

I'm having trouble printing 3 5/8x 6 1/2" envelopes.  The templates in Pages are for business size envelopes.  I made a custom template, but I get an error message
<The specified custom paper size is not supported in the selected tray.>
I only have one tray...?  Is this a printer issue?  It's a HP Deskjet.
    Thanks!

Check you printers instruction on which sizes it can take. Pages doesn't have any specific document or envelope sizes. It uses the one your printer is providing, you have installed on the computer.

  • Cannot get pdf file to print actual size

I recently had to reinstall my printer and now when printing PDF files I cannot get the page to print in full size.  This is necessary because I am printing a pattern and the size has to be accurate.  I am not even given the option anymore to be able to do this.  I did have the option before the reinstall.  BTW the reinstall is because the computer crashed and I had to take back to factory settings.  I appreciate any help given.  Thanks.
