    Hi,
    We have an rdf report which prints Bar code in the starting page based on a custom procedure from MarkView. It works well with Oracle Reports.
    But since the current report was a matrix report, we are changing it to a Linear report through Oracle XML Publisher Report.
    We have all the things possible in the new Oracle XML Report.. But we are unable to print the Bar code data which is BLOB in the XML Report..
    Can anyone help me on this? We have UAT dates around the corner..
    We have an RTF Template .
    Help asap.

  • How to print Arabic text along with the English in smartform ( ECC6 version

    Hi All,
    our is ECC6 version, Non unicode, ABAP stack ( not dual stack )
    is it possible to print in Arabic language in the above version ?
    if yes, then please let me know how to print Arabic text and English text in the same smartfrom.
    i tried in the following procedures :
    1) i created standard text (SO10) in arabic language.
    i called in the smartform ( include text - i )
    langage AR
    but system throws error message saying, required language is not installed.
    2) if i use READ_TEXT function module.
    text getting printed in diff format but not in arabic.
    waiting for your replies..

    ECC6 and Non-Unicode? I think you'll need multiple code pages, I doubt there's a mixed Arabic/Latin1 available. And I don't think SAP supports new MDMP systems any more. If you need to support multiple languages you really need to go Unicode. It's probably easier to do the Unicode conversion than to try to support multiple code pages and you have to make the switch eventually.

  • How to print a BLOB (image) on a PDF report using Oracle APEX Listener as Print Server

    Hi,
    I use APEX 4.2.
    I have the following query as SQL text for a Report Queries in Shared Components:
    select
        customer_id,
        cust_first_name,
        cust_last_name,
        cust_street_address1,
        cust_street_address2,
        cust_city,
        cust_state,
        cust_postal_code,
        phone_number1,
        phone_number2,
        credit_limit,
        cust_email,
        filename,
        company_profile,
        -- customer_image,
        decode(nvl(dbms_lob.getlength(customer_image),0),0,null,
        '<img style="border: 4px solid #CCC; -moz-border-radius: 4px; -webkit-border-radius: 4px;" '||
        'src="' ||
        apex_util.get_blob_file_src('P22_CUSTOMER_IMAGE', customer_id) ||
        '" height="75" width="75" alt="Photo Customer" title="Photo Customer" />') customer_image,
        mimetype,
        image_last_update
    from
        demo_customers;
    I am unable to have the image printed on the PDF report. Even when the P22_CUSTOMER_IMAGE is defined as session state item.
    Does someone knows how to print such image/BLOB in a PDF report?
    Thanks by advance.
    Kind Regards.

    Hi,
    Indeed, I would need a custom layout.
    Unfortunately, it seems (according to this white paper) not possible with the APEX listener only. I would need a third pary tool. A pity...
    For me strange, that I cannot generate such a report having images or pictures in a pre-definied report layout... Maybe a future enahancement for Oracle.
    Kind Regards.

  • Printing Arabic Characters

    Is it possible to print arabic and English numbers in the same
    report (Eg. Passport No. H4523456) . Some how it is not printing
    properly. (If it is only number without any alphabet , changing
    the direction displays the number in arabic correctly.)
    Database is storing the characters in English.
    Thanks.
    Datebase Character Set : AR8ISO8859P6
    NLS_LANG : AR8MSWIN1256

    Hello,
    It is possible, but set NLS_LANG=UTF8
    which is UNICODE, however if your database is not in Unicode you are not able to display both i.e. English and Arabic, why?
    Unicode has a representation for each language character and has a position, no matter what language, Japanese, Chinese.

  • How to save Special Characters in oracle?

    Is there any way to enter special characters such as ºC ? i am using J2EE and Oracle 9 i.
    When i try to enter 2ºC after updating the datbase it is converted to 2ºC when it is displayed in HTML. All special characters are prefixed with Â. Pls suggest any way to use special characters with oracle ..

    This has nothing do to with NLS_LANGUAGE. In general, character set processing depends on NLS_LANG setting (which is an OS setting and not a instance initialization parameter) and database character set. To understand NLS_LANG see OTN NLS_LANG FAQ http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/globalization/htdocs/nls_lang%20faq.htm.
    However, I think that JDBC is an exception and does not use the character set defined by NLS_LANG. See last answer in following discussion:
    Re: When is NLS_LANG used ?

  • How to take arabic characters in a text box from keyboard.

    Hi friends,
    I have a jsp file with 2 text boxes.The first one should take only english input while the second textbox should take only arabic characters.I have to do this without changing modes from EN to AR in taskbar.
    Thanks in advance

    In that case you need to programmatically insert the text at the selection point. You get the selection point using the selectionBeginIndex and selectionEndIndex properties. I have an app where I do that, using this code:
    // textInput is the name of the TextInput control
    private function insertTextAtSelection(text:String):void
         var start:int = textInput.selectionBeginIndex;
         var end:int = textInput.selectionEndIndex;
         var hasSelection:Boolean = start != end;
          textInput.text = textInput.text.substring(0, start) + text + textInput.text.substring(end);
         if (hasSelection)
             textInput.selectionBeginIndex = start;
             textInput.selectionEndIndex = start + text.length;
         else
             textInput.selectionBeginIndex = textInput.selectionEndIndex = end + text.length;
    This is what the code does:
    gets the starting and ending positions of the insertion point (in case the user has an active selection rather than just an insertion point).
    concatenates the old text with the new text and writes it into the text input
    restores the user's previous selection or insertion point (In this case I'm setting the selectionBeginIndex and selectionEndIndex properties rather than calling setSelection(), but the end result is the same.)

  • Arabic characters from Oracle Stored Procedure

    Hi,
    I am having a problem displaying arabic fields from Oracle Stored Procedure. When viewing the arabic field on the web page, i get the following:
    ÙƒØكد Øاكد غبد افلبٍ افاربش
    I have checked with our Oracle DBAs and we seem to be using the AR8ISO8859P6 (ISO-8859-6). I tried to set the return string encoding to UTF-16 and ISO-8859-6 but still no use.
    What should be done to display it?

  • How to control Excel Output in Oracle BI Publisher

    I have created an XML report in Oracle E-Business Suite. It displays the output in Excel. The problem is when I generate it's output in PDF it is perfectly fine but when I see the output in Excel, the layout automatically aligns it to the leftmost corner. This behavior is same with all the Excel reports.
    My question is: Is it the default behavior of Excel outputs or Can I control the layout so that it is displayed in the middle not the leftmost corner?
    Can I center align the layout by default? If so , how?
